Being that we're talking about shoes now in our Fitness Gear category, we're going to likely need to have multiple lists.
We're starting with The Best Cross Training Shoes for Men (and we'll move into Women next) being that cross training is what we've been seeing more often than not here at SHJ.
But, what is cross training?
Ace Fitness tell us this:
Cross training is typically defined as an exercise regimen that uses several modes of training to develop a specific component of fitness.
This is exactly what we have been seeing more and more among the "typical" celebrity training style.
If you've read my book Superhuman Secrets you'll know that a mix of circuit training, weight training, calisthenics and cardio is what we find among celebs and the world's top performers nine times out of ten.
That's even what is the basis for our Superhuman System which is literally built to be the most effective, efficient, and sustainable system to help members achieve The Superhero Physique.
Which is why we're focusing in on the best cross training shoes first!
Of course we love to lift here at SHJ, and we also love to run, but we're going to have to get the best mixture of all styles and prepare our feet for that to get us started.
So here are the best shoes for men to do just that!
THE BEST CROSS TRAINING
SHOES FOR MEN
Men's Reebok Nano 9 Cross Trainers
$100-130
I get a new pair of Reebok Nano's every single year, and I have for over five years now. These are easily my favorite cross training shoes. They are GREAT for lifting, and although I prefer my running shoes for running (that would make sense, right?) they get the job done in all areas and are my first pick when I'll be mixing up my training with some cross training and circuit training.
Nike Metcon 6
$150
The Nike Metcons are easily the next best option. Actually, they frequently fight for the top spot among a ton of other lists I saw for cross trainers. I gave them a shot and I believe if I wasn't so loyal (and I suppose slightly biased) to my Reebok Nano's the Metcons could have actually potentially stole the first slot!
NOBULL Men's Training Shoes
$129
I don't personally own a pair of NOBULL cross trainers, but Brandon does. He joined the hype train and made me get on it as well for a bit. Thankfully we wear the same size shoe and after giving these a try, although they might not make EVERY other cross training list, in my opinion they definitely deserve a top five slot. I've tried A LOT of different cross trainers now and these compete with the Nanos and Metcons pretty easily.
Altra Solstice XT
$110
The Altra Solstice is a great option for those of you looking to switch it up and stay clear of the "main brands". I gave these a shot after seeing a few sites recommend them and I really liked how comfortable they are, and the fit and feel while running, but I don't think they are better than any of our top three picks.
Under Armour Men's Charged Commit 2
$60
Every list needs a bit of a budget option.
Heck, my running shoes (which you'll have to wait for another list to learn more about) were only like $45 and I LOVE them. Under Armour's Charged Commit 2s are a great budget option to throw on a pair of "beat up" cross trainers and know you're getting a great bang for your buck.
That’s a wrap.
