One of our Daily Quests here at SHJ is to get 20-30+ minutes of direct sunlight.
Members are also able to check-in with their Daily Quests with The SHJ Phone App for accountability as well.
Things like our daily activity, our nutrition, recovery, hydration, and sunlight all play a role in how effect we unleash our inner superhuman.
That being said, a lot of members in The SHJ Army (mainly members checking in daily, if I'm being honest) want to know what they can do if they can't always get direct sunlight 20-30+ minutes every single day.
Unfortunately 5+ days a week working the majority of the day can be a huge deterrent in getting in the sun.
You guys can also check out other recommended resources like training equipment and gear, and also supplementation to really step up your transformation.
But, for this article we'll be focusing in on something referred to as "Happy Lights".
Here's how Prevention describes Happy Lights:
"Happy lights, also known as light therapy lamps, happy lamps, and SAD lights, give you additional exposure to light when there's less sun in the fall and winter months."
We are going into fall and winter months as I publish this article, but technically speaking it's also great for people who are stuck at work all day and can't make it outside or aren't by a window to get the proper light in.
Now we'll be going over some of the best options based on reviews and my own personal opinion with a handful of these devices.
I personally use one every single day I can't get enough light in, but for some people it will be an almost every day device.
THE TOP HAPPY LIGHTS
Verilux Happy Light
$39
With the overwhelming amount of lights available, I did my initial research a few years back and ended up with this one based on reviews from others and recommendations and I recommend it myself wholeheartedly.
Flamingo Happy Light Therapy Lamp
$279
For those of you who are looking for something that might look a bit nicer than having a desk light like the one I use, this is a pricier option, but one that is warranted if you're going to be needing daily light therapy in the same spot, while also having a someone aesthetic appeal.
Theralite Aura Light Therapy Happy Light
$60
Another great option for those of you who may want to angle your light down to you but don't necessarily need to spend over $200 on the Flamingo is this one that allows you to put it on your desk or table and still get it coming down as though it's the sun angled to you.
Circadian Optics Happy Light Therapy
$39
The Circadian Optics is one, in my opinion, that brings the best of both aesthetics and desk lamp to life.
It's the same price as my first pick, but, if I'm being honest the only reason I didn't go with it is because I tend to avoid anything that says "As Seen On TV". BUT, the reviews are great, and it does have an appealing look for the same price.
Light Therapy Lux Circular Happy Lamp
$39
Last but certainly not least is yet another alternative to our $30-40 dollar price range, except this time another with great reviews and recommendations, but instead of the long look we have one that is a circular aesthetic for any of you who have this preference.
That’s a wrap.
