So, if you haven’t already heard the news, Ben Affleck has bulked up 24 lbs in just 4 months for his role as Batman.
It’s pretty impressive if I do say so Mr. Affleck!
To be fair, he definitely needed to put on some mass to do the role justice. Â I mean, have you seen his suit in Batman v Superman?
Who am I kidding…Of course you’ve seen it.
First off, if you haven’t seen the latest Batman v Superman trailer from Comic Con then just take a second to go watch it. Â I even have it embedded on an article from last week where I talked about making SuperHuman Fuel “On-the-Go”.
It’s pretty awesome that Affleck took this role, and I know there were originally a ton of people (and there probably still are) that were really pissed off about this – but I’ll be honest when I say I wasn’t one of them. Â I’m a huge Affleck fan and I think he did a great job as Daredevil in 2003. Â We’ve already seen that Charlie Cox can kill it as the new Daredevil, so why not let Ben take on a new and improved role?

To be honest, I think almost every actor I’ve seen become a second superhero has done it better the second time. Â Now I might stir the pot here, but let’s just take a look at who’s done it:
- Chris Evans originally Johnny Storm and now Captain America
- Brandon Routh originally Superman and now The Atom
- Jason Momoa originally Conan, then Khal Drogo and soon to be Aquaman
I mean, c’mon people – even Henry Cavill started as a badass in Immortals and upgraded to the Man of steel!
But, I know, I know – I need to settle down and get on with the reason we’re all here. Â I’d still love to hear about what your take is on that topic though, so shoot me a comment and let me know!
I’ll be honest, everywhere I searched for some newfound research on Afflecks specific workout routine led me to some random person making up something off the top of his head.
Now I’m sure that’s not what some of you want to hear, but I wanted to give you the truth.  There’s a lot of times I can find some specific interview and get some great routine, but this time I think I’m going to have to combine what I’ve found and just become another one of those random people! 😛

What do we know?
Alright, one thing I could find was a quote from Afflecks wife Jennifer Gardner that Muscle and Fitness was kind enough to share with us:
Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Garner, had this to say about Affleck’s preparation: “I’ll tell you that there is a man working out at my house right now—I’m sure—for his second time today. And he has 17-inch biceps.”
Alright, great! Â So we know he’s working out sometimes twice a day and he’s definitely bulking up and getting some killer biceps.
But, what else do we know?
I for one also know that every routine I found regarding Afflecks workout to become Batman was based around a typical bodybuilding style – some even formatted with some powerlifting styles.
That being said, I have to agree with those techniques, and while I’m not going to give you one specifically, I am going to base this routine around what I’ve found.
Actually, what’s funny about this routine is the fact that it’s going to be similar to a routine Tom Hardy used to become Bane! Â But, let’s not dwell on the past…
We’re over it, moving on and ready for the workout. Â Am I right?
