Lewis Tan has been training SIX hours a day to prepare for Mortal Kombat.
The new HBO MAX movie has it’s cast getting extremely serious about their training regimes.
We already saw Mehcad Brooks’ Workout Routine to become Jax for the movie, and he got JACKED.
Well, Lewis Tan is not only shredded, but also insanely impressive with his fight choreography and also weapons training.
Tan did a video for Men’s Health talking all about his training, and he has been doing six hour training days in Bangkok, Thailand with stunt coordinator Seng Kawee.
For those of you who don’t know Tan, he’s been in roles like Wu Assassins, Deadpool 2, Into The Badlands, and (obviously) now Mortal Kombat.
Tan tells us:
So right now we’re training 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, with one day off on Sunday. And it’s a glorious, glorious Sunday.
He then goes on to break down his daily training schedule a bit, which I put into a full broken up routine at the end of this article.
Here’s how he explains it with his brief rundown:
Today I’m going to break down some warm up techniques, I’m going to show you some muay thai padwork, I’m going to show you a little bit of choreography, and a little bit of weapons training, and a little bit of wire work – if we can get to it. That’s what we do in a day.
From there he goes into some stretching with Juju Chan who is an actress and martial artist who you may also know from Wu Assassins.
Each section of his workout grows in intensity leading up to a final full body workout with some dumbbells and weights that is extremely light and simple; but also effective (as you can tell from his physique).
