For our last Anime Inspired Recipe we saw Boruto's favorite food (or at least one of them) and now today we're going to take a look at Kawaki's favorite food - which happens to be a sweet treat.
Maybe you guys can use this one as a pre-workout grab, because as much as we tried to bring it a bit lower in calories, there was no great way to make these protein taiyaki without completely switching them up.

Inspiration: During Shikadai and Inojin's visit to see Kawaki in the hospital, asked what he wanted to eat. Kawaki remembered Sarada's tip when visiting the Taiyaki store with Naruto and instantly decided on a custard taiyaki.

INGREDIENTS
- 1¼ cups cake flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 5 Tbsp sweet red bean paste (anko)
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE NOTE: In order to make Taiyaki you will need a Taiyaki maker, which is similar to a waffle maker, but makes the specific Japanese Fish Waffles, perfect to have anko added.
- Sift all of your cake flour, baking powder, sugar and baking soda into a large bowl.
- In a different bowl, whisk your egg and your milk until they're combined well.
- Combine your wet and dry ingredients and whisk them together extremely well. Take this bowl and put it in the refrigeration for at least an hour.
- After at least an hour you are now ready to pour your new batter into a measuring cup with around 1 1/4 cups total.
- Preheat your taiyaki maker to medium heat and spray it with some pam or preferred greaser.
- Fill the taiyaki maker molds to about 60% full.
- Put about 1 Tbsp of anko in the center and then cover it with more of your batter.
- Close the lid of your taiyaki maker and immediately flip.
- Cook for 2 minutes on the first side and then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Open and check to see if the taiyaki is golden brown. If it is, remove and let it cool down while you rinse and repeat with the rest of your batter.
