So the posts have been coming slower now that school started, but I figured it would be fun to mix some nerd fanboyism with fitness and motivation – if possible!
With the end of Summer comes all the awesome TV Shows we’ve been waiting for, right? Â I mean, some of them already started!
You all know what I’m talkin’ about…
One show that had an awesome launch recently was Heroes Reborn.
For those of you who keep up with what I’m doing (Fanboy Fridays), you know I watched all of Heroes original show recently on Netflix, solely in the preparation of Heroes Reborn. Â Plus the fact that I’m a nerd, but that’s besides the point.
The premiere of the show was a dual episode wammy! Â This isn’t a show review, so for those of you who haven’t watched, or have no idea what I’m talking about, I apologize in advance. [For those of you who want to find out more about the premiere you can check out these links: Â DenOfGeek / Mashable] Â BUT, regardless of your Heroes knowledge, the premiere showed us one thing that I can totally relate to our SuperHuman tribe.
Being an EVO can be tough, and scary!
And now you’re thinking: “How the heck does that relate? Â We’re not REALLY EVO’s (or SuperHumans)”….
Well, the truth is, being a nerd, especially one that is trying to get fit and “fit in” Â (see what I did there?) with the lifting, bodybuilding, training scene can be just as tough and scary! Â
I’ve been doing my best to respond to all the emails coming in from you guys and I’m sorry for some of the delayed responses – hopefully now that I’m a bit settled into my classes and training schedule I’ll have more time for SHJ and writing. Â That being said, I know email responses and interaction with you all is crucial. Â Sticking together and knowing that their is a group of people who are also nerdy, comic book/superhero loving, book reading, video game playing, awesome people…that also want to get fit at the same time – well if that’s not motivating, I don’ t know what is!
Just like a lot of the shows we love and watch, Heroes is similar to X-Men in the sense that they all have to come together to overcome what they’re facing. Â Sure they might have known “Save the cheerleader, save the world” in the original Heroes, but not just one single person could have accomplished that. Â Think of the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and sheesh I won’t even start naming all the groups of Superheroes that are so much better of as a group. Â Well, this is our group…
Sticking together and never giving up
I can write posts on motivation, self control, and defining your goals, (which are actually pretty awesome posts…) but sometimes that only goes so far.
How many of you are still pushing since you’ve found a workout on the site? Â Are you still using it? Â Are you jumping around from workout to workout in hopes of finding the right one? Â (Possibly not giving one enough time) Â Are you utilizing and manipulating your nutrition to achieve the results you want?
How many of you are thriving and how many of you could be doing better with a support system of similar SuperHumans to have your back?
Hey, I know it can be difficult at times, and I know quitting would most likely be “easier”, but where does that get you? Â The answers no where, except possibly in front of a good book in your room, or the computer playing video games…which both actually sound pretty sweet, but c’mon you know what I’m trying to say…
Interacting and support
One of the reasons I thought this post was perfect was because I’ve been really busy and the email responses and posts have been slower. Â BUT, I also wanted to make it clear that I still read all the emails and respond to them as soon as I can. Â Aside from the initial email a lot of you send, don’t hesitate to continue emailing me or communicating here (comment section) if you need support, or even just wanna’ chat!
Another reason for the post was to not only let you guys know I’m psyched about Heroes Reborn….but also attempt to promote some more interaction among all of you. Â Sure, it’s fun with me being the middle man and chatting with all of you myself, but it would be even cooler to get comments strolling in as well.
If you have any ideas for the best way to promote the interaction to get us all motivated and working as a team, let me know in the comment section of this post, or shoot me an email!
Chat soon,
-Mike

Funny enough I’ve never even heard of the show Heroes Reborn! But it sounds pretty fantastic from what you’ve said about it, I’ll have to check it out!
Yeah, it seems to be looking pretty good! Have you seen the original version of “Heroes”?
No I haven’t! I guess I should start there lol!
Haha yea, more then likely the best place to start, but I think you can get away with just going through the Heroes Reborn series as well. Whatever floats your boat!
