While Adkins played a slightly more minor role in Doctor Strange, I think think it was fun to point it out.
Actually, I even want to throw in a quick ten second video clip at some point of him battling Benedict Cumberbatch!
But, in reality, we’re all here to find out how to attain his killer physique as Yuri Boyka.
Am I right?
It seems we are seeing more and more martial artists hit the site, and I have to say: it’s freakin’ awesome! Â Coach Derek Mellino in The Academy is definitely proud.
I’ve done it before, and I think it’s helpful here as well; But jumping to Wikipedia for some background is definitely fitting.  Here’s what they tell us about his martial arts background and upbringing:
He became interested in martial arts at the age of ten when he, his father, and older brother, Craig, visited the local Judo club. His interest towards martial arts grew even more at age 14 because he was mugged around the age of 13 on a bus and that really kicked his training into overdrive. That same year, he started practicing Taekwondo. Since age 16, Adkins has also trained in Kickboxing under Anthony Jones. He is now a fully trained Kickboxing Instructor for the P.K.A.
Scott Adkins Stats:
Height: 5’10
Weight: (approximate) 175 lbs.
Age: 40
Adkins is right there standing at a nice average height with guys like Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Jon Bernthal, and Daniel Craig.  It’s also a common physique he portrays at this height, judging by the people we see on the site.
A bit different than the wide variety we’re used to seeing from shorter variety like myself, Zac Efron, and Kit Harington, – and even the taller guys variety like Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck, Dwayne Johnson and Batista.
But, like always, don’t let the height and weight statistics sway your choice for a routine. Â This is more so for a fun analyzing and to put things into perspective.

Scott Adkins Diet and Nutrition
Scott Adkins physique is one that is definitely going to need a decent amount of protein intake. Â That being said, it’s also going to require a decently low body fat, requiring you to cut fat.
Easier said than done I suppose.
Thankfully for us, we have options. Â We know at SHJ we can utilize the Nutrition Pillars to create the most sustainable diet possible.
And, for this in particular, I recommend intermittent fasting in combination with a lower carb diet and some reload days! Â It’s actually what I’m currently utilizing within The Academy myself.
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais, & Eat Fat, Lose Fat) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hopper, and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.

Scott Adkins Workout Routine Research
An interview with Mens Fitness gives us some awesome insight to Scott Adkins training style.  They also remind us that Scott, although put into roles like: The Expendables 2, Doctor Strange, The Bourne Ultimatum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Zero Dark Thirty, and Boyka: Undisputed; he’s a man that does not require a stunt double (which makes the above clip even more fun).
They make sure not to forget about his martial arts training as well:
“he’s trained in no fewer than six forms of martial arts: Karate, judo, kickboxing, jujutsu, Krav Maga, and ninjutsu—yes, as in the art of being a ninja.”
But, even with that, Scott fills us in one a lot of what goes into his everyday workout routine. Â He states:
“I like volume training, simple weight training. I mean, who doesn’t like the bench press? I always make sure to go in the gym and train intensely.  We’re in there five or six days per week and I train hard. I put a lot into it. I make sure that I work myself all the way. That’s what you’ve got to do.”
That’s not it though. Â He even goes into the deeper details of his routine, as if to make it even easier on us:
“I’m training about five to six times a week. Three of those days will be in the gym with weights. Two of those days will be cardio—I’m not a big fan of the running machine or running in general. I get it done, but I’d rather do some martial arts-type training. Depending on the part I’m training for, if I need to be bigger, I just train five times a week with the weights and mix it up.”
And, in regards to sets and reps he tells us:
I’m a little bit old school, to be honest: three sets, reps of 8 to 12.
I mean, thanks Scott, I’m pretty sure we have everything we need!
