You read the title right.
Bri lost over 100 pounds and has tried nearly every workout on SHJ.
I was blown out of the water when he sent me these pictures, and now I’m ecstatic being able to share them with the rest of you.
If this doesn’t motivate you, I’m not sure what will. We’ve seen some incredible transformations come from the workouts on the site and The Academy; but this one is incredible.
We’ve had Mike lost over 60 lbs and get absolutely shredded, Chuck lose over 100 lbs, Alexis losing more than 40 lbs, Marcus getting shredded losing well over 50, and more; but to lose 100+ and get your abs as shredded as Bri is quite the feat.
Here’s another view of what Bri accomplished:
When he first reached out to me he said:
I am currently at 190lbs, 10% body fat, have been training for 3 years, have lost over 110 lbs (started at 284 lbs) and have attempted nearly every routine on the site!
Not only is Bri interested in helping us potentially program more workout routines, but he’s also a perfect example of utilizing superhero and celebrity workouts to stay motivated and continue to crush your goals.
All members of The Academy get access to all 500+ PDF downloads of every single workout routine on the site, plus every new workout routine that lands on the site each week.
We also have our new Themed Workout Booklets announced, which will be a lower priced way to grab large packets of workout routines from the site (200+ pages, 20-30+ workouts, all themed to specific goals/themes) for members who are looking to jump through tons of workouts.
But alright, that’s enough from me, here’s some questions Bri answered for us….!
1. Who are you? (If you’d like, tell us about you. Work, other hobbies, Etc.)
My name is Bri Brown I am 19 years old and currently a full time college kid studying political science and history. I live in Plainfield, Indiana and work for our local police department as a Support Officer for the town. In the free time I do have I love hanging out with my family and girlfriend. My lifestyle can really just be summed up as on the go all the time. I love rock wall climbing, obstacle course racing, and just hitting some trails on the weekend but my all time favorite hobby is lifting which is a lifestyle all in itself. Other than that I’m just your normal college kid that woke up one day and decided it was time for a change…..a 100 pound change.
2. Tell us about your transformation (weight loss, goals, etc)
Throughout school (1st-12th grade) I was always the big kid in class and that became normal to me. I mean, I stayed active, played every sport that I could ( Football, Rugby, Wrestling) and one day I woke up and realized I had (and still have) a choice in how I look…. I don’t have to despise going shopping and fear that they don’t have the dreaded XXL shirt size.
The change I wanted was out there I just had to go get it and that’s really the secret: there is no secret its hard work and dedication ANYONE CAN DO THIS especially with all of the options offered by Mike at SHJ.
With the two elements of hard work and dedication I am a true believer that the sky is the limit. So once I began this journey nearly 2 years ago, I never looked back! I knew that my goal was to be comfortable taking my shirt off in public and to stop dreading stepping on the scale.
I started off at 284 pounds at the age of 17.
At the age of 19 I now weigh 182 pounds.
My goals are to maintain my lifestyle and keep it fun by mixing up my training and challenging myself on a daily basis. Which ultimately leads to being better today than I was yesterday because everyone can achieve that.
3. How did you find SHJ?
I am a true nerd at heart and I love superheroes so when I began this journey I figured what better than to look like a superhero!!! With that being said I am a huge fan of the CW show Arrow and decided why not try and go after a Stephen Amell style physique; one that has a functional purpose.
After doing some digging most plans were basic bench squat and deadlift but I knew Amell did bodyweight work predominately and no one replicated that in their routines….. until I found SHJ they nailed it exactly what I was looking for and evidence to back it up!
I loved the program although to start I couldn’t do a single pull-up but after months of consistent training I can now complete the entire Amell workout and even increase the reps and sets seeing that kind of progress is rewarding in itself.
4. What program did you start with?
I started with the Stephen Amell workout which really starts with you being able to just moving around your own bodyweight which really transferred well to the obstacle course and rock wall competitions I compete in they were a major help. I then wanted to challenge myself in another way so I went after the Christian Bale workout and built myself up using weights. IÂ loved each one!
5. What is your favorite superhero (or character)?
My favorite character would have to be Batman and of course Green Arrow. Just dudes that love to train and don’t need superpowers to be heroes.
6. Favorite Superhero or Nerd Show/Movie (Can give top 3 of each)
The Batman trilogy, Arrow, and the original Iron Man 2008
And gotta give a mention to Gotham.
7. Whatever else you’d like to add (Maybe some of your own tips for the SHJ Army)
Work hard and don’t give up. You can do it no matter what your schedule is every little bit helps and you are all super in your own way just get out there and go get it! In lifting and in life nothing is given to you, everything is earned. Find someone you want to improve for: it could be anything or anyone. For me it was my girlfriend that I have been dating since the 6th grade! And, of course, my amazing family who have supported me during this entire journey do it for them! They deserve the best version of you!
And remember without struggle there is no strength.
Bri took this transformation to a place where I could have never imagined.
Now he’s working on sustaining it with the training and nutrition that specifically work for him!
That’s exactly what we want from both SHJ and our Academy: a way to find YOU the most sustainable program…specifically built for YOU!
One thing that really stood out to me from Bri was this:
There is no secret. It’s hard work and dedication ANYONE CAN DO THIS.
He goes on to give me a nice shoutout, but the work was done by him alone. SHJ and I were just there for support and guidance.
Incredible work Bri; I’m sure you will motivate thousands with this transformation story.
