You may remember Mike from his initial transformation story at SHJ.
But now he’s back after taking it to a whole new level.
Mike initially lost nearly 60 pounds for his first transformation. From there he went on to step it up a notch and go through some phases of bulking and cutting to shred the fat and get absolutely shredded.
For the first transformation he utilized The Men’s Bodybuilding Path within The Academy and was one of the very first members inside The Academy, actually.
He also checked in with me (which you can do as an Academy member if you’d like) every so often for support and adjustments.
But he wasn’t even close to done…
We then worked together and he utilized The Body Recomp and a mini-bulk and cut phase through Bulk and Strength and The Cut and Shred.
He’s actually one of the main members to help me create the Volume Two version of each of these!
Mike’s Stats:
Height: 5’8
Weight: 220 down to 160 lbs
Age: 30 years old
1. Who are you? (If you’d like, tell us about you. Work, other hobbies, Etc.)Â
I’m Mike and I’m 30 years old living on Long Island, NY. I work as a Senior Town Investigator which I do a ton of overtime and hours for, so SHJ was a perfect fit to be able to break it down for what was actually necessary to get the physique I want.
In the summer I have a ton of hobbies so it was really important for me to lose weight and tone up to be able to do all of the things I like to do.
I transitioned to The 3 Hours to Superhero Program in the summer in order to have time to mountain bike, surf, and do a ton of other outdoor activities that I’m really into but was held back from doing while I was overweight.
2. Tell us about your transformation (weight loss, goals, etc)Â
My initial transformation took place really just focusing on weight loss. I obviously wanted to tone up and look better. I mean, who doesn’t want abs? But I was more concerned with initially dropping the weight and forming the habits to workout and diet right.
I went through all the Nutrition Classes inside The Academy and was lucky enough to find one that really sticks. I’m still using it to this day.
I mean, there’s like eight of them now, so you should be able to find one that is good for you. I know Mike makes it his mission to have something for each member to use to sustain their transformation. He really punched sustainability into me over the duration of us training together.
3. How did you find SHJ?Â
I honestly found the site so long ago I’m not even sure which celebrity I was searching. It was well before there were even any character based workouts.
Probably Stephen Amell or Chris Pratt or something.
But I was pretty quick to sign up for The Academy, which was also the only program at the time. And I’m so grateful for that because it gave me a foundation and with the discount you get for being a member I was immediately able to integrate the new programs as they came out.
Some of them I was even able to help build somehow!
4. What program did you start with?Â
Woops. I guess I gave it away in the last answer.
5. What is your favorite superhero (or character)?Â
I’m actually a huge fan of Watchmen so I’m going to cheat a little and leave it at that.
6. Favorite Superhero or Nerd Show/Movie (Can give top 3 of each)Â
Top 3 would have to be:
- The Dark Knight
- Endgame
- Either of the Deadpool movies
7. Whatever else you’d like to add (Maybe some of your own tips for the SHJ Army)
My biggest tip is to not over complicate things. Before I was in The Academy and working with Mike I was listening to a ton of fitness influencers who promise you the world as long as you do X, Y and Z. Turns out a lot of it is a load of BS.
I think Mike’s new saying is “Fitness doesn’t have to suck” and I have to agree.
Find what workout and diet and plan is going to fit your lifestyle best and stick to it. It might happen slow, but that’s okay.
Mike stepped it up more than I could have ever imagined.
It just goes to show you that if you take your time and go through the phases (instead of looking for a quick fix) you can really unleash your inner SuperHuman.
He took what we have here at SHJ and followed each of the programs exactly how they’re written and the results came.
Another thing I will say about mike is that he’s extremely patient.Â
Sometimes it was tough and results slowed down but he hung in there the whole time and persisted anyway.
Great work Mike and I can’t wait to see what you do next.
