We’ve already seen the Top 5 Pre-Workout Supplements, and the Top 5 Protein Powder Supplements.
Now it’s time for the Top 5 Multivitamin Supplements.
I personally prefer to eat in a wide variety to get my micronutrients and vitamins from food sources, while then doing my best to source any vitamins I may be lacking; but multivitamins are a great way to supplement a little of everything if you’re not really watching your micronutrient intake.
And, for more about macronutrients and nutrition stuff, you should definitely head over to our Nutrition Pillars at some point!
We also have a list of all our articles that are based around our fitness equipment and supplement lists here.
But alright, alright, let’s get on with the main topic here.
Multivitamins!
Normally we’d include taste in our comparison for the top products (like protein powder and/or pre-workouts), but for this one we’re going to cut that off the list and make it a bit more simplified.
The way I am making this list is based on the categories below:
- User Reviews and Overall Ratings by The Fitness Community as a Whole
- The first portion of this is going to come from the overall reviews from the whole fitness community. That means I’m going to be using reviews and ratings from all different sites and people all over the internet to factor into our top 5 list. This will also inherently allow us to get a feeling for the overall value of each product.
- My Own Personal Favorite/Recommendation
- Right behind that is my own personal favorites and recommendations, which are also automatically going to factor in number three. Most of my top picks are already well known brands that I generally stay true to, but this is a good factor to weigh in because I have the most experience with these brands.
- The Best Bang For Your Buck
- While not the last factor in terms of order, this one is coming in at number three strictly because the first two will likely factor it in as well; but I still felt it was relevant to mention so you know that I am considering it while ordering them.
There you have it.
Those will be the categories in which I follow to give you the Top Five Multivitamins on the market.
Of course, much of this is opinion based, so you’ll need to trust me in order to take my advice!
Starting with number one…
1. Opti-Men and Opti-Women
If you guys have been around at SHJ for a while you probably know I’m a huge fan of Optimum Nutrition.
Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard Whey Protein, which I swore by for years and years of my life made the protein list at number three, and their pre-workout made the pre-workout list at number four.
That being said, it’s finally taking the gold medal for this one.
They always hit the inexpensive point (in all their supplement categories) while still managing to compete on every other level.
Across the board Opti-Men and Opti-Women were recommended in the top five multivitamins for a slew of different reasons.
Choosing them in the first spot was easy; they’ve been the top dawg for a while and they’re definitely not slowing down.
You can grab some Opti-Men here and Opti-Women here.
2. VitaMode Multivitamin
VitaMode Multivitamin is one that I came across later than any others on this list.
Although that definitely didn’t hold it back (as you can see from it being number two on my list).
This one may have a bit of a higher price tag, but they pride themselves on a super high quality product.
Some other multivitamin products can add way above the daily value (what you need in a day) because the specific nutrient/vitamin is less expensive to them, and then in turn cut us on other areas (not that any on my list do that), but from my research VitaMode came out in the top three for quality!
So if you’re looking to spend a little extra for what scores in the top of quality, this one is a good pick for you.
You can grab some VitaMode Multivitamin here.
3. JYM Sports Multivitamin
JYM Sports products have surprisingly not made any of our lists just yet.
But not for any reason other than a ton of great competitors.
Across the fitness community not only are JYM Multivitamins beloved, but the entire brand is.
Like the next supplement company on our list, JYM has amassed a pretty awesome following of fitness folks who are stocking on on strictly JYM supps!
If you’re ready to give them a try, the multivitamin might not give you an idea of how their flavoring is, but they’re right on the money when it comes to quality and price point to be here at number three.
You can grab some JYM Sports Multivitamin here.
4. Animal Pak Multivitamin
You had to have heard of Animal.
Like I mentioned when discussing JYM’s fitness following, Animal comes in with one that seems to be even bigger (whether that be the size of the community or the size of the individuals in the community, I’m not sure).
Right off the bat you’ll need to know this about the multivitamins: they come in big packs and are not just 1-2 pills like the others on this list.
The packs shown in the picture above are filled with a handful of pills and you’ll be taking all of them…everyday!
The good thing about this is that it enables Animal to hit all the vitamins we need without skimping us out on any (I made mention to some companies doing this with their multivitamins when I talked about VitaMode).
So if you need quality and you’re willing to down a big handful of pills every morning (some people find this pretty awesome, actually), then this is the one for you.
You can grab some Animal Pak Multivitamin here.
5. NOW Men’s Adam and Women’s Eve Multivitamin
I clearly couldn’t find a good picture to show off both Adam AND Eve, so Eve will just have to do.
NOW is in the market for inexpensive products pretty much all across the board when it comes to vitamins.
You can likely even find them in the nearest pharmacy section or big Target/Walmart near you.
That being said: they’re not going to be the top notch highest quality multivitamin out there, but if you’re looking for inexpensive and a quick way to supplement a bunch of your necessary vitamins, this is a quick fix to go with.
You can grab some NOW Men’s Multi here and NOW Women’s Multi here.
And there you have it.
The Top 5 Multivitamin Supplements!
I should mention that Multivitamins are not a fix-all solution for vitamin intake. You should be shooting to get micronutrients from your daily food consumption and then supplementation in areas you may be lacking is generally the best approach. That being said: multivitamins are a good alternative.
