Here at SHJ we believe in remembering we’re human.
That means we may be looking to unleash our inner superhero, but at the end of the day we’ll come out of our transformations being superHUMAN.
Part of this is the notion that we should be able to train the way we want, and eat the way we want.
Which goes hand-in-hand with some core values at SHJ:
- Fitness doesn’t have to suck.
- We cut through the BS in the fitness industry and focus on what really matters.
That being said, I thought it would be a lot of fun as we build out our Celeb Diet Database to highlight some of our favorite celebrities, athletes, and top performer’s favorite cheat meals!
We’ve actually seen a bunch of these within our Workout Database while doing research on hundreds and hundreds of celebrities training and nutrition, but now that we’re breaking it apart a bit to make it easier for you all to find specific research, this felt like a great way to help with that.
If you don’t believe in “cheat meals”, that’s fine, but we don’t really utilize indulgences and “cheating” in the typical sense here at SHJ.
Here are some great resources that may clear this up for you:
- The Top Diets Among Celebrities
- The Four Key Components of Your Transformation
- The Two MAIN Reasons People Don’t Lose Weight, Gain Muscle and Transform
That should give you an idea of where we stand when it comes to indulgences, cheat meals, and just overall making the process of fitness, nutrition, and health a FUN and enjoyable experience.
Celebrity Cheat Meals and Indulgences
Although cheat meals and remembering to be human with indulgences is nothing new at Superhero Jacked, I decided to work together with Rave Reviews for this article and share some amazing graphics they’ve put together for us to share.
Their research is a great way to support a lot of what we’ve shared in tons of other articles here, in my book Superhuman Secrets (with tons of celebrity and top performer case studies), and even on our YouTube Channel where Brandon (and sometimes I join in) tried some of these cheat meals:
- Dwayne Johnson 13 Blueberry Pancake Food Challenge (Group Challenge)
- Brandon Ate Like The Rock For A Day (Cheat Day Edition)
- Brandon Tried Chris Pratt’s 3 Hour Cheat Day
- Brandon Tried Lebron James’ Favorite Cheat Meal
And we actually just recently talked about some other celebrity and athlete’s we’ll find on the list like Maria Sharapova, for example.
We took a deeper look at Maria Sharapova’s Diet Plan after having seen a full article on her workout routine and diet research.
So, luckily for us, a lot of these celebrities are extremely open about their favorite cheat meals because they know the importance of indulging.
Making sure to remember you’re human and indulge and “cheat” in moderation is a big part of what will allow your nutrition and transformation to stay sustainable.
I’m hoping this article sheds some light on that and allows you to go out and find your own ways to indulge and “cheat” on a regular basis, without having it turn into a binge eating session that hurts your transformation and progress.
The Avengers Cheat Meals
What better way to start us off than by sharing some cheat meals from The Avengers stars!?
Trick question. No better way.
One thing you can say for sure about the Avengers is that they are RIPPED. Apart from when Thor let himself go after that whole Thanos thing, there’s not an ounce of excess flesh on any of them. Of course, this comes naturally to superheroes, but for the real life actors it takes a lot of hard work and discipline to fit in those costumes.
Most of them have meal plans, dieticians, fitness coaches and angry looking studio executives helping motivate them to stay in shape, but of course – unlike their characters – they’re only human. And, like us, the cast of the Avengers love indulging in cheat meals every once in a while.
They’re not the only ones.
Ravereviews.org did their research to find out how some of the world’s fittest famous people treat themselves on their cheat days and then even put together some awesome images for us to utilize for this article.
The research shows that Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson is the Avenger who really treats herself after a day of intense running and world-saving. Appropriately enough for someone with her name, Brie snacks on cheese with two boxes of mozzarella sticks and a whole pint of ice cream.Â
Karen Gillen’s Nebula comes in second with a thin crust cheese pizza from Dominos, followed by another pizza fan in Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, who opts for the ever-controversial ham and pineapple combination.Â
At the other end of the scale, Zoe Saldana’s cheat meal looks like lots of people’s attempt to eat healthily, with just 530 calories going on a potato and shrimp salad, while Paul Rudd’s BBQ sandwich is only a couple of calories more.
Be sure to scroll down after The Avengers cheat meals to learn more about more celebs and athletes!
Celebrity and Athlete Cheat Meals
Now it’s time to take a look at A TON of different celebrities cheat meals.
These range from celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Ryan Reynolds, and wife Blake Lively, who we’ve seen all of at SHJ, all the way to celebrities like Martha Stewart and a handful of athletes.
You’re going to see A LOT of familiar faces on this list, so if you want to go ahead and find the research on their full workout routine and diet plans you can go ahead and jump to our search page or even straight into our Workout Database to take a scroll through.
This list is a bit of a doozie, but I will still have a signing off for us at the bottom.
So go ahead and skim through and get some ideas for your own cheat meals and indulgences, but remember to always find your own moderation.
We don’t want to use these cheat meals as if they’re Thanksgiving dinner which obviously leads into December holidays which obviously means we have a full month of just eating non-stop!
Obviously…. 😛
Daily Cheat Meals and Indulgences
I personally fit daily indulgences into my diet.
I use our 4-Tier-Nutrition-System which is programmed into all of our Core Programs here at SHJ, including our SHJ Nutrition System which breaks it down with a ton of resources and even a nutrition course.
One of those tiers is literally 80/20 indulgences being fit into your nutrition.
Now I also take one day off per week (only after I’ve reached my goal weight after cutting or bulking up and am recomping or rolling with maintenance calories) where I “take a day off” from overall macronutrient levels and just essentially carb reload (considering that’s what tends to be my cheat meal choice), but I don’t stay low carb or low fat during the week either.
The priority is always overall calories and hitting my protein goals, but even that I give myself a break on to keep it super sustainable.
We even have three different levels of protein goals within our SHJ Nutrition System (and therefore all of our Core Programs), that allows members to shoot for:
- Level One: The Minimum
- Level Two: The Sweet Spot
- Level Three: The Superhuman
Each of these protein goals will do the job, but they also work around a specific goal and member.
The Minimum frees up more calories for sustainability and “free calories” to be used for indulgences, while The Superhuman is for some of our members who are really looking to step their physique up a notch and focus in on muscle gain and/or retention.
However YOU choose to do it, just remember: fitness doesn’t have to suck. Each of these celebrities, athletes, and the world’s top performers have their own cheat meals they go to because they know it’s okay to remember we’re only human.
I hope this gave you some motivation to find your own perfect plan and potentially even opened some eyes to the fact that fitness can be fun.
