Recently we talked about how Michael B. Jordan loves anime and we shared a list of his top five anime that he recommends for new anime fans to start with - and you guys really enjoyed it.
So, I wanted to bring in one of the first celebrities to bring anime into the mainstream: UFC Fighter Israel Adesanya: The Last Stylebender.
Adesanya breaks down his top five favorite anime of all time and discusses why each one of them make the list.
Would you be surprised if I told you he really likes when anime have good fight scenes?...
Another fun fact is that Stylebender likes to switch it up from dub and sub and often times likes to watch dub specifically to pay more attention to the detail of the fight scenes.

RUNNER UP: DRAGON BALL
Free Dragon Ball Inspired Workouts:
Adesanya Quote about Dragon Ball from the interview:
"I think after school every kid watched Dragon Ball Z and then would come back to school the next day and talk about what happened. I was part of that wave. During the Goku Super Saiyan 3 Era...Kid Buu..all that!"

NUMBER FIVE: SPRIGGAN
Adesanya Quote about Spriggan from the interview:
"It was futuristic. I like the suit he was in. It was an overpowered suit. But there was also a lot of blood. I like when I see anime and I see blood. I don't want you to sugar coat it. I don't want to see anime when there's no blood and no one dies. Don't sugar coat it for me."

NUMBER FOUR: JUJUTSU KAISEN
Free Jujutsu Kaisen Inspired Workouts:
Adesanya Quote about Jujutsu Kaisen from the interview:
"What made it crack the top five was just the universe was based in the school for wizards or witches...or sorcerers I should say. They're just battling evil forces and demons in their own school, and then also put them against each other. I like the fight scenes. The fight scenes! The monsters that they have in there; that for me, like I said, that's key in a top anime. The fight scene and how it is executed. The fluidity of the animation."

NUMBER THREE: DEATH NOTE
Free Death Note Inspired Workouts:
Adesanya Quote about Death Note from the interview:
"It grew on me. It grew on me, but I love a good thriller. I love a good thriller. I love something that makes me think outside the box and makes me try and guess who. Just the way the Shinigami even like just appeared out of no where - it was a really beautiful story. The way it was written was crafted really well, and kept me intrigued every episode."

NUMBER TWO: NARUTO
Free Naruto Inspired Workouts:
Adesanya Quote about Naruto from the interview:
"So 'Naruto' is definitely one of my favorites as well because the lessons I learned from it, but the fight scenes...the fight scenes were really key in that one. And also the whole space of The Hidden Leaf Village, the Akatsuki Gang, the villains on there. They were all so in depth. The backstory. You want to talk about backstory? These guys will give you the back back back story of these characters, and then you get to really be invested in these characters and know what made them who they are, why they are the way they are. And they're relatable as well. The good guys and the bad."

NUMBER ONE: AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER
Free Avatar: The Last Airbender Inspired Workouts:
Adesanya Quote about Avatar: The Last Airbender from the interview:
"Some people might be like 'That's not even an anime, it wasn't made in Japan.'....Shut up! Doesn't matter where it was made. The style of animation is what makes anime. You understand? Doesn't matter if it was made in fu--kin Alaska, wherever. Anime is a style. Doesn't have to be created in Japan. You hipsters need to just f**k off. Avatar is one of my favorite anime because of the lessons I learned from the story. Toph, I related to her story as well because of her upbringing. Affluent rich style who learned how to earthbend from badger moles. Even when Aang met Guru Pathik, the lessons he got from him on learning how to unlock the avatar state and how to control it."..."And also the fight scenes! You don't have to wait 3 episodes for the fight scenes to get going."
