I’m not sure if we’ll ever actually get to see it…
But either way Channing Tatum deserves a spot on SHJ and I’d love for it to be slotted as Gambit!
So as you guys may know, Gambit has been long awaited and talked about to star stud Channing Tatum. Â But, it’s on IMDB, so it’s official…right?
Either way he’s been in more movies that deserve a spot on SHJ than we can give him credit for. Â I mean, dare I even say the Magic Mike guys? Â Well, whatever, he’s still got GI Joe, Fighting, and tons of others (although I even include the Jump Streets)!
Channing Tatum Stats:
Height: 6’1
Weight: (approximate) 195 lbs.
Age: 37 years old
He seems to be a fairly common height for Superhero Jacked, ranking right in there with guys like Brad Pitt, Charlie Hunnam, Stephen Amell, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt.
Not quite as tall as dudes like Batista, Dwayne Johnson, Ben Affleck and Jason Momoa, but got some good measurements on Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron and Kit Harington.
And, as always, this is just a fun comparison and should not be taken into account for whether or not you should use this routine. Â This is made for all shapes and sizes, but mainly based around what research I can find based on Tatum himself.

Channing Tatum Diet and Nutrition
After some research (which didn’t take much searching actually), I found that Channing Tatum experimented with one nutritionist who preferred an alternative approach to a breakfast of eggs, and normal high protein style diet.
Now, while we normally skip our breakfast here at Superhero Jacked in order to get in our intermittent fasting, we still stick to our high protein intake to get strong…
But, digging a little deeper I was able to figure out that he actually used a very different formula for getting Magic Mike jacked – which is what we’ll be taking a look at.
A quote from Daily Mail UK gives us a bit of insight into what the new dietary guidelines looked like:
As well as a hardcore training regime, Channing also had to follow a strict diet to build lean muscle mass. ‘We ate very clean and we’d use a blender and make a veg smoothie with kale, spinach, celery, romaine, and very little fruit, which Channing would drink with each meal,’ said Arin.
Breakfast consisted of eggs, lunch was grilled chicken or turkey, and dinner was more grilled chicken or a steak with veg. He’d snack throughout the day on nuts. ‘I wanted Channing to be eating every two hours to give his body all the essential nutrients it needed to fuel training, burn fat and build muscle,’ he added.
Okay, so he didn’t skip breakfast like us to utilize intermittent fasting, but that’s okay too. Â He was still eating for fuel and to burn fat while building muscle.
That’s what we like to hear.
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais, & Eat Fat, Lose Fat) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hopper, and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.

Channing Tatum Workout Routine Research
Alright SHJ Army, I’m not going to lie to you here. Â Channing Tatum’s workout routine in order to get prepped for Magic Mike was no freakin’ joke.
This is nothing like The Nightwing styled Minimalist Path in The Academy – Tatum put in massive amounts of training in a short period of time to train for this one.
But, heck, that’s what we’re all here to learn about – right?
One again learning from Daily Mail UK we learn:
Arin moved to Vancouver and had 10 weeks to get Channing movie-ready. They started with early morning bike rides, mainly on the roads, but they’d mix it up by hitting the hills, averaging around 25 miles, with climbs of up to 2,300ft.
Which continues on with much more!
For those of you already scared, I suggest choosing a different routine…
After a quick shower and bite to eat, Arin would get Channing into the swimming pool.
‘He’d do a swim which would consist of ether 100 laps in the home pool, or a pool workout where we would do a lap then jump out of the pool to perform 25 crunches or 25 push-ups, or five jump outs, which we came to name water burpees,’ he said.
And that’s not all folks, it continues with:
With the morning fat-burning cardio sessions out of the way, Channing would take a break to recover and spend some time with his young family.
In the afternoon he’d do a strength and conditioning workout with weights.Â
‘This consisted of weight training focused on one body-part, such as chest, back or legs, followed by a conditioning circuit,’ said Arin. ‘The key thing was to ensure that no two workouts were exactly the same – we did something different every single day to keep it interesting.’
And what about those awe-inspiring abs?
‘We did some direct abs work for aesthetics but Channing brought out his six-pack more from the weights and conditioning work, because his core was constantly being engaged throughout each session to keep his torso stable.’
As the shoot date got closer, the pair would end the day with a four-to-six mile run to keep Channing’s body-fat levels low.
Alright, that’s enough torture, lets get on with the workout customization…

The Channing Tatum Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4-6 Days
Explanation:
We’re going to base this routine off of the assumption you aren’t on a sick time restraint and don’t have as much time as Tatum had to devote to his daily training regime. Â That being said, it will be much shorter time frames, and less days per week, but equally as effective if use for a longer duration.
**Utilize at least one cardio day as an off-day**
