Did anyone notice we have another Superman?
There’s been a few, but I’m not even going to try to have a vote…although you can tell me in the comments who your favorite is and I won’t be mad :P.
For those of you who missed Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel Workout Routine and Brandon Routh’s The Atom Routine: those are two celebs who have played Superman and landed a spot on SHJ in the past.
Oh, and don’t forget he also played a werewolf in Teen Wolf. I’m pretty sure he was even the Alpha!
Seems about right…
Tyler Hoechlin Stats:
Height: 6 feet
Weight: (approximate) 190 lbs.
Age: 29 years old
I honestly wouldn’t have guessed he was 190 lbs, as he seems more of a slender Brad Pitt Fight Club type, but he definitely has some pretty good muscle mass going on.
He’s right around that same height range as Charlie Hunnam, Bradley Cooper and Stephen Amell. Standing shorter than our giants like Batista, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa and Ben Affleck – but much taller than Zac Efron, Mark Wahlberg, Kit Harington and Tom Holland.
And, if you don’t know who these people are, I can’t help you!
Other than send you to the Workout Database of course.

Tyler Hoechlin Diet and Nutrition
Tyler Hoechlin says in an interview from SDCC regarding getting into “Teen Wolf shape”:
You eat a lot of things that don’t necessarily make you happy.
Here’s the full video in which Hoechlin also talks about wanting to possibly play Iron Man or Batman prior to his gig as Superman in the CW’s Supergirl:
So dieting is definitely something Hoechlin doesn’t take for granted. He knows he has to make sacrifices and use good nutrition in order to reach his desired physique. He even says you learn to like them when discussing these foods.
That being said, I’m going to give you some healthy choices. We even have the newest Nordic Diet (aka freakin’ Vikings) making an appearance in the Nutrition Pillars. You can combine that with the rest of the pillars to really take your nutrition to the next level.
Even a Superman level…
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.
Alright seriously, I promise that’s the end of the Superman GIFs.

Tyler Hoechlin Workout Routine Research
I’m not sure if you guys caught him say:
“A lot of time in the gym.”
But, he said it. I promise you it was there in the interview.
One thing I find relevant to the training research that I found for Hoechlin is that he is actually a professionally trained baseball player and has apparently been playing since he was only 6 years old. I found that many of his workouts include strength training, weight lifting, cardio exercises, and stretching.
That’s definitely what we’d expect from a physique like his, though.
And, since aquiring the role as Superman Hoechlin says:
“I have definitely been in the gym more than I have been in the last two years, yes! That’s definitely been happening.”
If you’re going to want to bulk up and get Superman fit, you’re going to have to train like him. We know Henry Cavill’s workouts are pretty freakin’ intense as well!

Tyler Hoechlin Workout Routine
Training Volume:
5 Days Per Week
Explanation:
If you’re going to be getting Hoechlin ripped, and trying to fill the shoes of Superman, you’re going to have to train for it. If you want to take it slow and do 3+ days a week, that’s fine, but just know the progress might slow down as well.
