I’m extremely excited for this one.
I’ve watched Guardians, Avatar and Colombiana way too many times…
Just kidding, I’m going to continue to watch them over and over.
I said it already this week on Bradley Cooper’s routine, but I’m going to say it again: We’re officially finalizing the full Guardians of the Galaxy squad!
We’ve seen Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, and Batista’s – and this announcement really makes me wonder if I’ve finished any other FULL teams like this…

But, anyways, can we just take a second to acknowledge how much fun Zoe Saldana must be based on her selection of movies?

Zoe Saldana Diet and Nutrition
Starting off nice and fun, here’s a quote from BonAppetit regardingย soup from Saldana:
“Having green makeup on for my role as Gamora, an alien assassin and wanting to have soup is really hard. ย If that soup lands on your chin, and all that green makeup smears off, it takes forever to fix it.”
It’s also true that Zoe follows a pretty good 80/20 rule when it comes to gluten. ย We have our own 80/20 rule in the SHJ Nutrition Pillars as well.
And, a quote from Shape.com during an interview with Saldana’s trainer gives us some insight on specific foods she consumed during her training for the role:
Shape: Whatโs on a typical daily menu?
SM: A typical example for anyone of my clients would be oatmeal made with almond milk, chia seeds, dried banana, mango, pineapple, and macadamia nuts for breakfast as well as a home made protein shake with organic Whey protein for a snack. The lunches and dinners are always balanced meals. Some examples might be a lentil salad with chopped vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, and raisins; a buckwheat noodle salad with chicken and vegetables; or a turkey burger with baked yams and green vegetable.
Sounds pretty clean, and resembles some of the pillars our own guidelines as well.

Zoe Saldana Workout Routine Research
Zoe trained passed some of her mommy responsibilities to get in shape for her roles, including post-pregnancy training. Here’s what she has to say about it:
“I was already in my process of slowly getting back to my normal routine with my body [after giving birth], so I just started doing some power yoga and a lot of floor workโbreathing has been helping me a great deal.”
And another important quote from Zoe on the importance of aesthethics and being a mom:
“Before I had the boys, it was all about staying fit and keeping the body that I wanted to keep; it was all aesthetic,” she said. “Now it’s a desire and a pleasure to be present.”
We also know that Saldana enjoys cardio and training outside. She utilizes basic training techniques and stays active.
So, knowing what we know, we’re going to map out the routine based on what Zoe Saldana used to utilize to get her incredible physique…but we’re also going to incorporate yoga and a good and clean diet to be able to maintain it.

You’re going to utilize pilates and yoga 3 days a week, and I’ll also program you another 3 days of cardio and small circuits to use. This should all be paired with a clean diet (which is key!).
