How does one even begin to write a tribute for the legendary Stan Lee?
That is the question I asked myself when Coach Derek suggested it after hearing the news.
So we began pondering. Together.
Which, isn’t exactly an odd occurrence, but what made it odd is what we were discussing.
Coach Derek actually learned how to read via the Spider-Man Comics!
We discussed a bit more, and while we decided to share some links to some of Stan Lee’s creations workout routines that we have on the site – we also decided it was best to share some other tributes that have been shared in memory of Lee.
Oh, and we also decided to do what we do best: write a workout routine.
Except this time it is a tribute, in memory of the legendary Stan Lee.
Stan The Man.
The World Pays Tribute to Stan Lee
My entire social feeds were flooded with Stan Lee memorial posts.
He truly touched THE WORLD.
Not just comic book readers, not just action movie lovers, not just the nerds….the world.
And, I’d love to share some of those posts right now.
First and foremost is an amazing dedication page that Marvel shared on their site.
They start by quoting Lee:
“I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain, you’re doing a good thing.”
And continue more which can be found here.
A post from IGN on their Instagram page wraps up some celebs paying tribute to Lee on their personal feeds.
I’ll share it below, which you can then slide through and see some of their kind words.
CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, states:
“Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A super hero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain, and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart.”
And, DC Comics writes via their Twitter page:
He changed the way we look at heroes, and modern comics will always bear his indelible mark. His infectious enthusiasm reminded us why we all fell in love with these stories in the first place. Excelsior, Stan.
With thousands of more chiming in with kind words about Lee, these particularly stood out to me, and I wanted to share them with you all before continuing.

Stan Lee’s Creation Workouts
Stan Lee has made an impact on the world that I tried to show a bit of through the tributes I shared above.
With that, I’d also like to share some links to the workouts that have been created right here on the site that are specific creations right from Stan Lee’s own fingertips.
I want to start with a quote from Wikipedia, which shares some of Lee’s specific creations, and touches upon what I will be sharing:
In collaboration with several artists—particularly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko—he co-created fictional characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, and—with his brother, co-writer Larry Lieber—the characters Ant-Man, Iron Man, and Thor.
So, I’ll make a list for you, with the character themself being linked to the character routine (if we have one), and the celebs portraying them being listed under that.
Lee’s Character and Celeb Workouts:
- The Hulk
- Doctor Strange
- Black Panther
- Fantastic Four
- Iron Man
- Captain Marvel
- Black Widow
Well, that list grew and grew quite a bit.
Oh, I also added some character/celeb workouts from the list “Characters Created by Stan Lee“.
I hope you enjoy these as much as we have creating them.
Let’s get onto Stan Lee’s tribute workout.

The Stan Lee Tribute Workout
Stan Lee Tribute Workout Explanation:
This program is in tribute to the great Stan Lee.
It is meant to be intense, and done without breaking (if possible).
You are to complete 21 reps (21-gun salute), followed by 15 reps (15 for Amazing Fantasy 15; Spidey’s debut), followed by 9 reps and then 5 reps (95, Stan Lee’s age) of each movement listed – basically performing 4 rounds of each at each given rep range.
We could have created a workout impossible to finish by utilizing each of Stan Lee’s creations, but instead we decided to create one that touches upon a great handful of them, while still giving you something to add into your current regime as a high intensity Stan Lee tribute.
Rep Scheme (as explained above):
Deadlifts for The Hulk’s Stength
L-Sit (Hold for Seconds) for Doctor Strange’s Meditation
Burpees for Black Widows Endurance
Single Arm Dumbbell Snatches (each arm) for Thor’s Hammer Overhead
Spider-Man Push Ups for Spidey
Weighted Jump Squats for Black Panther’s Explosiveness
Forearm Plank (Hold for Seconds) for Hawkeye’s Archery Strength
**Again, perform each movement 21 times (or seconds), then again at 15, 9, and 5, without breaking (if possible).**
****It’s okay to scale these workouts if needed. As it’s okay to use light weight if needed.****
