My Hero Academia is incredible.
It’s as simple as that. Everyone here loves heroes; so what better anime than this to portray our favorite journey and allow us to replicate their powers and aesthetics into training methods?
The answer is that there is no better way, of course!
Although Dragon Ball Z might be a good answer…it’s a tough one…
I wanted to make sure we had more than ten MHA workouts up on the site before we made a full listicle.
If you’re part of The SHJ Army you’ll probably know already that we’ve been seeing more and more workout styled listicles like this one on the site.
This is not only because they’re cool, but also because it’s a fun way to filter through old workouts that many of you may otherwise never get the chance to know are actually hidden deep in the depths of our Workout Database.
We now have well over 500 workout routines (and growing every minute) that make up the most comprehensive Workout Database on the internet.
That being said, listicles are also just fun. That’s why we’re even writing more devoted to fitness gear, and other cool things like workout songs, playlists, and so much more.
Some of our recent listicles revolves around things like:

But just to be clear about how this works: we’re going to be basing this listicle around a few things (none of which are me simply saying “This is an exact order of the best workouts from MHA”).
Here’s what we’ll be basing it on:
- Popularity among The SHJ Army (you guys)
- What I feel is the most effective
- What I feel is unique or different
- What I think is the coolest character and workout pairing
And those are all weighed in the same, although the coolest character and workout pairing might be ever-so-slightly lower than the other two when I make my decisions. But anywho… Let’s start with number one….
Join The Academy for hundreds of exclusive workout routines.
First on the list is All Might.
If you took a second to check out our Top Superhero, Anime, Video Game and Character Workouts EVER on SHJ article you would have noticed that All Might actually made that list.
And he’s actually not the only anime character to do so; but I was surprised to see him nonetheless (when I first wrote that article at least; now I’m well aware of how much you guys love My Hero Academia).
If your goal is to get BIG and gain muscle and mass, then this workout is for you.
Not only does it revolve around mass and strength gain, but it also adds components of being an overall well-versed hero.
All Might isn’t just strong, he’s also extremely fast, durable, has incredible stamina, and can [obviously] fight!
So all these things were considered and added into the workout to make sure you’re getting a fair All Might representation with your training.

And then we built The SHJ Legacy Program to help you achieve it!
Second on the list is Deku, aka Izuku Midoriya.
The main character of My Hero Academia, and the ninth holder of One For All, is no surprise for our second on the list.
For this workout we train to work our way up to being able to control One For All, just as Deku did in MHA.
We also revolve the training methods around Deku’s physique, and not simply the strength within One For All, so we utilize a PPL Split combined with circuit training, parkour, and calisthenics, and cardio to boost endurance.
Just as we saw Deku train hard, you’ll be training hard as well if you want to transform into him, cosplay as him, and/or simply replicate his training methods.
This one is great for anyone who is looking to achieve “The Superhero Physique”.

Third on the list is Ochako Uraraka.
Ochako’s workout comes in at number three for a few reasons; the first being that she is my favorite female character, the second being that her routine is specifically a cosplay oriented workout routine so that it is built around her physique and overall aesthetic (which makes it super fun for all fitness levels), and the third being because I’m just an overall fan of the workout routine for both the above reasons.
That being said, we will see a couple more female workout routines on this list, AND every single workout we have on the site can be used effectively for both men and women.
I know some ladies out there think that if they lift weights a certain way they’ll become bulky and obtain a boyish or manly physique, but it is not the case due to many reasons (hormones being a main reason); so whatever your goal and preferred style is, go ahead and get to it!
Either way, this is a great choice for anyone out there who is at a beginner-intermediate training level.

Number four on the list is our first villain, and a main one at that: All For One.
All For One, All Might’s archnemesis, is our most recent My Hero Academia inspired workout routine to hit SHJ, and one that I had a lot of fun building.
All For One’s workout routine is also one that is built around becoming massive, but counter to All Might’s 5×5 programming we utilize Reverse Pyramid Training on our compound lifts to build mass; while being combined with traditional pyramid training, straight sets and other styles that we see in All Might’s to be well rounded and villainous.
I recommend this one for intermediate-advanced lifters simply due to the volume and percentage-based-scaling that we use, but anyone is welcome to try it out with some scaling and work their way up to All For One type lifts.

Coming in at number five is the one and only Shoto Todoroki.
We’ll actually see Shoto’s father, Endeavor, further on down the list, but Shoto himself is a show front-runner and one of my personal favorite characters.
Not only is Shoto an incredibly strong hero, but he also sports a physique and overall aesthetic from his training that made his character a fun one to build a workout around; especially being that it was made as a workout routine and cosplay guide.
This one was built with all training levels in mind and works around getting lean and toned like Shoto, which means, similar to Deku’s workout, it’s another great training regime for anyone interested in obtaining “The Superhero Physique”.

Number Six goes to the Tenya Iida!
Tenya Iida fills our sixth spot because his workout not only came during our calisthenics training themed month, but also because it’s such a fun and unique take at his character training being based around speed and running.
He’s like our Flash of My Hero Academia!
If you’re looking to get fast while also training to build a muscular and toned physique, then Tenya Iida’s workout is a good choice for you.
It’s a great workout for all fitness levels.

At number seven we have another female My Hero Academia character: Mina Ashido!
Mina is quick, agile, and petite; which makes her a super fun character to build a workout around.
For her training style we had endurance cardio, speed training, calisthenics and interval training to get you the quick, agile style that we discussed above, while also making it a perfect workout for fat burn and toning.
Another great part about this is that it’s built to work for any fitness level; and anyone looking for a flat stomach and/or six pack abs!

Number eight on the list is Katsuki Bakugo!
I am actually a HUGE fan of number eight and number nine.
I almost moved them up on the list just for that reason alone; but decided the others above were more deserving when you take into account all our different reasons.
That being said, Bakugo’s workout routine is still a lot of fun and a great overall routine.
It’s built around the four main compound lifts (deadlift, squats, overhead press and bench press), with added calisthenics and parkour training!
Similar to Deku and Shoto, this one is great for anyone looking to obtain “The Superhero Physique”.

Number nine, who I mentioned is one of my favorite characters, is Shota Aizawa!
I mean, seriously, who wouldn’t want Eraserhead as a homeroom teacher!?
The answer is everyone would want him to be their homeroom teacher; because if you say you wouldn’t want it then you’re lying to me!
Eraserhead’s workout was also made during our calisthenics and bodyweight theme, like Tenya Iida, but it I wouldn’t say it’s quite as unique to character; aside from the fact that it’s definitely built to have you moving around with abilities like Mr. Aizawa!
This is definitely still one of my favorite workouts on the list, with one of my favorite character’s on the list; while also being made for all fitness levels to take advantage of.

Number Ten: Momo Yaoyorozu
Number ten on our list is wrapping it up with another female My Hero Academia hero: Momo!
Momo is another cosplay workout routine and guide for MHA, but it’s a different and unique approach for the ladies being that compared to all the other female students we’ve seen thus far among MHA characters (until we see some female heroes/villains/teachers), Momo has the most adult-like appearance and overall aesthetic.
While the other girls have us mainly going for a petite (while still toned and lean) physique, Momo has us going for a much curvier look to The Superhero Physique.
And no, I don’t just mean because the show creators decided to give her the largest chest among the students.
This one is awesome for beginners to advanced members looking to work on achieving a physique like Momo’s!

If you’re an SHJ Member who is used to our listicles here, you had to know a bonus was coming.
Endeavor’s workout routine just went up this week with All For One’s to break us back into weight and strength training as gyms around the world begin to open back up, and this one follows a 5×5 strength structure revolving around compound lifts similar to All Might.
What’s different than All Might’s routine is that Endeavor’s routine is a little bit more geared towards strength gain, with just a bit of extra stamina and outside work added in, while All Might’s routine is a 5×5 that brings in all aspects of strength training while keeping it very well rounded as an overall hero.
That means this one is great, and potentially even a better option, for people who have a very strict goal to gain mass and stick to the mass gain over becoming well rounded.
While I normally wouldn’t recommend jumping into a heavy 5×5 workout for beginners, if you have some lifting experience and you’re just a beginner in some areas of training, this one might be a great way to tack on some much needed mass.

Boom, another bonus.
And we’re ending off on our My Hero Academia Workouts with another female character.
As you can tell: this list was extremely difficult being that we have some awesome My Hero Academia characters. Each one of them was built around their physiques and powers, which makes them fun and effective in their own specific ways.
The same goes for Asui. Like her Quirk: Frog, her workout is built around lower body power for jumping and acceleration, and then also upper body power for calisthenics to be paired with parkour, agility training and even mixed martial arts!
So while this one is ready to be utilized by all SHJ Members, beginner to advanced, it is going to be a kick in the butt if you are fairly new!
