How could we go two weeks of Agents of SHIELD workout routines and not see Mack?
The answer is: we couldn’t.
Last week we saw Chloe Bennet and Brett Dalton, and then this week we followed that up with The Mockingbird character workout and Ming-Na Wen’s routine.
We had already had the beginner Agents of SHIELD workout on the site, which has been a favorite amongst beginners at SHJ, so it was only a matter of time before we needed to flood the site with the show’s celebs!
Henry Simmons has been in NYPD Blue, Ravenswood, No Good Deed, Taxi, and a ton of other great shows and movies before landing what seems to be his biggest and best role as agent “Alphonso ‘Mack’ Mackenzie”.
And now it’s time for us to recreate Simmon’s routine.
Henry Simmons Stats:
Height: 6’4
Weight: (approximate) 220 lbs
Age: 48 years old
Henry Simmons is a bit of a behemoth.
He’s one of the tallest celebs we’ve seen on the site!
That average height falls in the range of 6’1-6’3 with celebs like Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, Adam Driver, Stephen Amell, Clive Standen and so many more.
Guys around 5’10-6’0 are dudes like Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Jason Statham, but the ACTUAL shorter range is filled with guys like Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, Kit Harington, Tom Holland and more.
Even taller than them are guys like The Mountain, Dwayne Johnson, Joe Manganiello, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Winston Duke, Alexander Skarsgard and a few others.
But, don’t worry either way.
We write these routines to be utilized by any shape and size.

Henry Simmons Diet and Nutrition
Henry Simmons is in amazing shape.
As we know, you can’t outrun your diet.
While there is not much information out there about a specific dietary restriction path Henry Simmons utilizes, it’s safe to say he eats healthy enough to stay lean and buff.
We’ve seen a lot of other actors stick to a sustainable lifestyle, like Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson (to name two at both sides of the size spectrum that use cheat meals in their sustainable diets).
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around sustainability and finding the perfect diet FOR YOU.
There are tons of dietary restrictions that work, and there’s not always just one right answer.
We’ve seen guys like Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews (as well as myself) use intermittent fasting, Adam Levine follow a vegan diet, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo follow paleo, and so many more.
It depends on your specific needs.
Right now I’m currently fasting, but also counting my calories as well, like we do in the Superhero Programs.
My suggestion if you take the time to find what is most sustainable for you.
It could take time.

Henry Simmons Workout Routine Research
One thing I was consistently able to find about Simmons was the compliments of his work ethic.
This is definitely something that can translate to fitness.
When I talk about time and fitness I use Dwayne Johnson and other celebrities who are out there everyday getting in their workouts on top of the other million things they have going on in their lives.
Henry Simmons seems to be another one of those strongly motivated celebrities who will stop at nothing to succeed.
In an article by TVOverMind.com they say this about Simmons:
Henry has been able to take that focus on discipline and compliance and parlay it into a work ethic that ensures that he is always prepared to step in front of the character and take on any role that he has been given.
They also tell us all about how Simmons was an athlete growing up.
“He can hoop” is how they started their description:
I know, the moment any sees a person over 6’3″ (Henry is 6’4″), the natural assumption is that the person can play basketball, which is actually not the case, more times than it is. However, in the case of Henry Simmons, he can definitely hoop. In fact, he used his basketball skills to pay for his path of higher learning, earning a Basketball scholarship to Franklin Pierce University. He did not waste that opportunity — earning a degree in business — thank God that he has not had to use it.
Similar to my comparison to his work ethic, another thing we consistently see is that the activity level of our celebs is generally pretty high.
A last point I’d like to point out, although obvious, is the fact that Simmons definitely has a bulkier physique.
Especially for someone of his height.
So, while you’ll see a higher activity level, you’ll also want to eat more, and train for gains!
