Jamie Foxx is the man.
I didn’t even know which movies I should name in his headline.
I know that happens a lot, but I love some of his roles so much that it made it extra difficult.
For example, I’m a HUGE Law Abiding Citizen fan.
So, when I found out he was going to be in Robin Hood, I was beyond excited. Especially considering he was alongside Taron Egerton and Jamie Dornan.
This is a stud-filled cast.
I was also extremely so pleased to mention Robin Hood and Spawn that Amazing Spider-Man didn’t even make the headline…and this is SUPERHERO Jacked…
Jamie Foxx Stats:
Height: 5’9-5’10 (depending on source)
Weight: (approximate) 185 lbs
Age: 50 years old
Jamie Foxx is actually shorter than the average male we see at SHJ.
But, he does fall into a category of men we have.
That average height falls in the range of 6’1-6’3 with celebs like Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Adam Driver, Stephen Amell, Clive Standen and so many more.
Guys around 5’10-6’0 are dudes like Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Jason Statham, but the ACTUAL shorter range is filled with guys like Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, Kit Harington, Tom Holland and more.
Even taller than them are guys like The Mountain, Joe Manganiello, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Winston Duke, Alexander Skarsgard and a few others.
But, don’t worry either way.
We write these routines to be utilized by any shape and size.

Jamie Foxx Diet and Nutrition
Jamie Foxx likes to be smart with his nutrition.
And, he tells us all about it during an interview with Men’s Journal.
Fox states:
“For me, it’s about eating right. You just have to eat smart and put the right things in your body. You can eat anytime you want to, as long as you are doing the right things. Sometimes it’s just literally kale and spinach, or sometimes the crispy spinach or fruit for a snack. What I do every single day for breakfast is I eat egg whites, turkey sausage, and turkey bacon. I’ll have one piece of toast, and you can have a teaspoon of jelly. You can either have the jelly and water with a little Crystal Light in it, or you can switch out and say, ‘I won’t have the jelly’ and have a glass of orange juice instead. You can switch things to balance what you do. Stay on your fish and good proteins like that. You can cheat, as long as you balance it with good stuff.”
In another past interview with Daily Mail, Foxx states in reference to weight loss for his movie “Sleepless“:
“I didn’t really diet, I just cut all that shit out, I ate chicken, fish and vegetables,”
“Within two weeks I lost eight pounds and I started working out with my trainer and before you know it I was at 198 within two or three, four weeks and then just steady, steady, steady.”
He cleans up his diet when it’s time to get serious and start cutting, but for the most part he’s just smart about what he eats and knows dieting and nutrition is extremely important.
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.

Jamie Foxx Workout Routine Research
Like many other celebs we’ve seen, Foxx has gone through a few different workout phases.
I’ve been recently going back and cleaning up some old articles and updating them with some “Version Two” workouts (like Chris Pratt, Jason Momoa, Chris Hemsworth and more); so for this one I want to share a lot of the deets.
In the interview with Men’s Journal Foxx shares a lot of great information:
“There’s this place called Sports Academy, right around the corner from my house,” Foxx said. “It’s the greatest place in the world to train. It has nine basketball courts, NBA players train there, the rookie Trae Young was there when I was. It has everything you need for training and working out. They have volleyball, they have baseball, and they have some great trainers. Going there is a great way to decompress and get in a workout.
He also shares a ton of other great information, so I hope you’re ready.
So far, we’ve learned Foxx has a great time playing basketball and even volleyball, and likes staying active.
He also tells us about his band work:
“One of the most effective things for me is working out with bands,” Foxx said. “I’ll take the bands and strap that over my knees. I’ll do about 20 to 25 squats with the band. Then I drop the band to my ankle and do lunges to the side 15 times, right 15 times, left 15 times, forward 15 times, back 15 times, and then about 20 semi-circles with my feet. After that, I’ll lay lay down on the ground, and do the bridge exercise move about 50 times. When you do that routine, it gets everything going and gets you ready for what’s next. The bands are key for me.”
Which he then follows up with the importance of pull ups:
“If you don’t want a trainer, the best thing in the world is a pull-up bar that you can put on any place you go,” Foxx said. “If you slowly work your way up to 60 pullups a day, however long it takes you to get there, you’ll immediately start seeing the changes. You’ll feel it all over your body. I also use the pushup handles and one of those ab rollers that I’ll use whenever I can. But seriously, you get that pullup bar working for you, it improves everything.”
Man, he would love The Bodyweight Book…
Finishing up the interview with:
“One thing I’ve learned as you get older, is that you need to concentrate on back strength,” Foxx said. “Because, what happens is, you’re working and pushing on all your other muscles, your legs, arms, whatever, and the back is what goes for you first. So you want to keep your back and glutes strong because that’s where a lot of the strength comes from. The back extensions are gonna save you a lot of trouble and keep your hamstrings right, too.
And, lucky for us, Foxx also has an interview with Muscle and Fitness where he shares one of his high intensity total body/core workouts, which we’ll also be utilizing in the workout.
Let’s do this.

The Jamie Foxx Workout Routine
Training Volume:
3-5+ days per week
Explanation:
Foxx likes to stay active. For that reason, his training level is probably more than 3 days a week, but we’re going to utilize programming for push, pull, legs, which will hit on some of the things he mentions finding extremely important (hamstrings, back, glutes, etc)- while also adding in his full body/core workout and bodyweight exercise (which he also mentioned).
The active days are on you!
There will be activity days, like Foxx plays and trains for basketball. You can choose to do other forms of activity, but get out there and use your fitness for at least an hour.
Superset Explanation:
Supersets are highlighted and marked with letters showing which exercises are within. These are to be performed one after another until one set of each is finished, and then you can break and rinse and repeat.
