The Most Powerful Demons in Demon Slayer are a handful that we’re growing more and more familiar with here at SHJ.
We recently saw a list of The Most Powerful Demon Slayer Characters of All Time, and they all made the list!
Eventually we’ll also break down the most powerful Demon Slayers and Demon Slayer Corps Hashira outside of our main list, but if you’re curious of the most powerful and want a head start you can find them all on the extended list I linked to above.
We don’t have every single character on this list within our Demon Slayer Inspired Workout Database just yet, but we’ve been slowly hitting more and more and adding them within our Anime Workouts Database as well.
We even had multiple characters show up just this week.
Not only is it great for all our Demon Slayer fans in The SHJ Army, but it also helps build out both databases and extends on our Demon Slayer Workout Placement Quiz as well.
But, before I go on and on about how much The SHJ Army clearly loves Demon Slayer, I should direct you towards some of our other awesome listicles in our anime fandom.

With other lists I sometimes have to scour the internet and break down tons and tons of opinions and overall power ranking from fandoms and Wiki pages, but not only did I already do that for our larger list: but these were quite easy to rank.
Not only are the internet and the fandoms all in agreement, but every single list ranked these demons in as the most powerful Demon Slayer demons to date.

MOST POWERFUL DEMONS IN DEMON SLAYER
Honorable Mention: Nezuko Kamado
Affiliation: None
Rank: None
Starting off our list of the most powerful demons in Demon Slayer is purely an honorable mention: Nezuko Kamado.
Nezuko Kamado is definitely not the most powerful demon, but she is extremely unique and a fan favorite – which makes her obvious for an honorable mention among a list of Demon Slayer demons.
Oh, and she loves to kick things – like demons heads off.
Nezuko at SHJ:
Number Four: Akaza
Affiliation: Twelve Kizuki
Rank: Upper Rank Three
Starting off our REAL list of the most powerful demons in Demon Slayer is Akaza.
Akaza is extremely powerful and hold of the rank: “Upper Rank Three” among Muzan’s Twelve Kizuki.
We saw him defeat Kyojuro Rengoku and then proceed to take on both Tanjiro and Giyu! He has also stated that he has been able to defeat “several past hashira”.
His Wiki Fandom also makes mention to: “In a further testament to his might, he is capable of becoming the holder of the Upper Rank 3 title and the fourth-strongest Demon in the series without killing or eating any women, which would’ve hindered his growth as a Demon drastically.”

Number Three: Doma
Affiliation: Twelve Kizuki
Rank: Upper Rank Two
Making it into our list as the third most powerful demon in all of Demon Slayer is Doma!
If it isn’t obvious by the ranking numbers, Doma is a rank above Akaza and known as the third most powerful demon in the series.
Jumping back into the Demon Slayer Wiki, after they tell us that he is known as the third strongest demon they also state: “His combination of battle techniques and skill is powerful enough to overwhelm and defeat Shinobu, the previous Insect Hashira, without any difficulty and he is also noted to have defeated Kanae Kocho, the previous Flower Hashira, in the past. According to Doma, Akaza, Upper Rank 3, would have no chance in defeating him in battle.”

Number Two: Kokushibo
Affiliation: Twelve Kizuki
Rank: Upper Rank One
If you couldn’t have guessed, the next demon on our list of the most powerful demons in Demon Slayer is our Upper Rank One: Kokushibo!
We actually recently saw Kokushibo’s younger twin brother, the most powerful Demon Slayer character of all time, Yoriichi Tsugikuni here at SHJ recently to go along with our second most powerful character, and most powerful demon of all time….which we’ll see next.
For now though, make mention to the fact that Kokushibo started as a Demon Slayer, Breath User and incredible swordsman, which he then tacks onto his overall demon powers as well.
His Wiki Fandom from the Demon Slayer Wiki breaks it down a bit like this: “Kokushibo was an extraordinary and powerful swordsman, proven to be the strongest of the Twelve Kizuki and the second strongest Demon in the series, just behind Muzan Kibutsuji. As one of the oldest Demons in the series, he had battled numerous Demon Slayers and obtained vast experience and knowledge of combat. He was able to easily decipher the techniques and skills of at least two Hashira and overwhelm them in battle. As a Breath Style user, he possessed tremendous levels of strength and reflexes that were further enhanced by his Demon physiology.”
Kokushibo at SHJ:
Number One: Muzan Kibutsuji
Affiliation: Demon King
Rank: Leader/King
Even though there were a couple spoilers in there, I think it was obvious before we even started our list that Muzan Kibutsuji was our strongest demon in all of Demon Slayer.
There’s no question about it: Muzan is the most powerful demon, the creator of demons, The Demon King.
His Wiki Fandom locks in that fact by leading his overall powers and abilities section as such: “As the first Demon to exist and as the progenitor of all Demons, Muzan is the strongest Demon in existence and possesses tremendous strength, easily being able to hold his own against five Hashira and Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu and Kanao at the same time.”
The only Demon Slayer to ever give him an issue and scare him was Yoriichi Tsugikuni, who came in as our most powerful Demon Slayer character of all time, just above Muzan on that list.
