I told you guys we were on an Agents of SHIELD spree.
And Mina Na-Wen is a must!
For a long time we had our beginner Agents of SHIELD workout routine, but last week we saw Chloe Bennet and Brett Dalton, and then this week we had The Mockingbird character workout as well.
Ming-Na is a total nerd, having voiced Mulan and then going on to be in Spawn, Street Fighter, The Batman, Lego Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy (TV Series) and so much more.
We love to see that after finding out Brett Dalton, her co-star, is also a huge comic nerd.
Ming-Na Wen Stats:
Height: 5’4
Weight: (approximate) 120 lbs.
Age: 54 years old
Ming-Na Wen just makes it to the average height for women celebs at SHJ.
Just an inch below her other co-star Chloe Bennet.
The average height we see for women is around 5’4-5’6 with ladies such as Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn, Alicia Vikander, Sophia Bush, Tatiana Maslany, Evangeline Lilly, and a ton of others.
But then there is also that taller range, and amongst the tallest, are ladies like Gwendoline Christie, Gal Gadot, and a few others – with Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Daisy Ridley, and so many more coming in around that 5’7-5’8 range.
And let’s not forget the shorter ladies of SHJ like Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Julianne Hough and a good handful of others.
But, either way, don’t worry.
I write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone!

Ming-Na Wen Diet and Nutrition
Can you even believe that Ming-Na Wen is 54 years old!?
I can’t.
On an Instagram post she shared she writes:
So many of you ask me how I stay young looking. That’s what got me to start Wenever™. It’s not all genetics! I do many things every day to ensure I look and feel my best. Not just because I’m an actress, but because I want to enjoy life and feel good!! Do you want healthy skin, hair, teeth and body? Want to look younger, and more importantly, FEEL younger?
And, I’ll be sharing some things from Wen’s site as well.
There aren’t too many articles as of now, but I went through and picked some stuff out for you guys.
I got your back.
In an interview with Babble.com, Wen shares:
Wen says food is a great point of connection for her family now, as it was when she was growing up. “When you smell the aroma of love permeating through the house, it’s nurturing. It’s the one thing my kids miss more than anything when I work long hours — me cooking a good meal.”
What’s her kids’ favorite dish? “It’s called Lion’s Head,” says Wen. “It’s comfort food, Chinese style.” Lion’s Head is a soup made with a large meatball and stewed Napa cabbage.
Awesomely enough, Wen also shared the full recipe as one of her very limited 9 articles.
Here’s a link to the Lion’s Head recipe, and another to the only other recipe she has, avocado toast!
I would assume, these being the only shared make them some staples in her diet. Especially when the articles are scarce and these make up for two of the nine.
But, in case this isn’t enough for you guys, I also suggest checking out our Nutrition Pillars on the site.
These all revolve around sustainability, like our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais).
Sustainability comes first, and right now I’m utilizing intermittent fasting like we’ve seen used by Hugh Jackman, Terry Crews, and Benedict Cumberbatch, in conjunction with calorie and macro tracking that we utilize in our Superhero Programs.

Ming-Na Wen Workout Routine Research
Another three out of the nine articles on Ming-Na Wen’s site give us some more useful information for this section of our article.
I’ll work my way through the least landing on the most important (in my opinion) last.
One of Wen’s articles is about working hard, and playing harder.
The reason I bring this one up in this section is because it talks about her grueling hours on the set of Agents of SHIELD. She loves her work, of course, but it is a lot.
The importance we can take from it is that it’s okay to play. It’s okay to have fun doing what we’re doing (in this case fitness), but it’s also okay to enjoy the rest of our lives as well.
You’ll see many SHJ workouts consisting of three day per week routines, with two or more days set aside from added activity. This one will likely repeat that model, and go away from this knowing that in order for your fitness to be effective, it does not have to take over your life.
Ming-Na Wen’s second article that I’d like to share talks about sleep. She says:
Today’s beauty tip will cost you NOTHING!
It’s sleep.
Whether it’s taking quick cat naps and just closing your eyes for a few minutes, or drinking some relaxing tea (like chamomile) before bed, improving sleep quality is SOOO important for your health and appearance.
She continues to talk about how she incorporates meditation into her lifestyle, and even plans on offering some audible meditation into her site eventually.
And, as we saw in the picture above, she also enjoys yoga.
Finally, Ming-Na Wen’s third article is about squatting.
She titles the article “Start Squatting!“, in which she states:
These are easy to do anywhere, anytime! And often, the most dreaded exercise to do. But since my knee injury last March, and surgery to replace my ACL and repair my meniscus this past May, I have learned the invaluable benefits of strengthening the glutes. Those butt muscles are not just good for twerking!
Expect to see some squats in this routine…
Weighted, unweighted, one legged…we’re doing it all people!
Also, one last thing to keep in mind is the fact that being on set, and her preparation for her fight scenes are training within itself.
For that reason I’ll be including some MMA styled training within this routine!
