This one feels very appropriate.
Considering I’m also posting my Book Review of Crown of Midnight.
If you guys are already lost, Crown of Midnight is Book Two of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Celaena Sardothien is the main character of the series, and we’ll also be seeing Chaol Westfall’s routine, who is another main character.
These were requested character, BUT, they also fall at a perfect time being that last month was our first ever SHJ Book Club (and November’s book was just announced as well).
That being said, I had already read Throne of Glass, and I own the entire series of books, and had been planning on continuing. Maas just finished the series, the final book releasing this month.
Celaena Sardothien Stats:
Height: 5’7
Weight: N/A
Age: 16-19 (depending on the book)
Real Name: No Spoilers, Sorry
Powers: No Spoilers, Sorry
Well that section wasn’t as fun as usual…but I didn’t want to spoil anything!
Celaena comes in a bit shorter than some of the other characters, but not nearly the shortest.
So, here’s the comparisons anyways…
Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8!
We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.
But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.
And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!
But don’t worry, either way.
Not only are these routines for all shapes and sizes – they also work for both men and women – regardless of the gender of the hero!
Celaena Sardothien Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like The Hulk may get something specifically different**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Hugh Jackman and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting daily, and I also use it myself in conjunction with cyclical ketosis.
That being said, I also recommend tracking and paying attention to protein intake.
BUT, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Oh, and if you’re down with calorie counting instead, that’s always an option as well. It’s just important to be aware of specific rules and precision while counting.
Celaena Sardothien Workout Routine Research
First of all, I felt this picture above was relevant not only because it includes the final book of the Throne of Glass series “Kingdom of Ash“, but also because it has Vengeful by V.E. Schwab, which is the second (newly released) book of the Villains series, which I just reviewed Vicious (Book One) last month.
But, anyways, we’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
This is where I get to break down the “how” and “why” of the workout we’re going to build based on the characters, in this case Celaena’s, powers and/or abilities.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will state some obvious abilities and training methods that we see Celaena utilize in the books.
First off, what do we know about her (that wouldn’t be giving away any big spoilers)?
Here’s some info from her Wiki/my head (the books):
She is a trained assassin, Adarlan’s Assassin and The King’s Champion.
Her skills are almost never matched, especially when she is put in a rage.
And, for the sake of not spoiling anything, I’m going to keep it to her training methods that we’ve seen in the book, and also her fighting style, as any enhancements or powers (whether they exist or not) wouldn’t be as relevant anyways.
In Crown of Midnight she is shown waking up every single morning with Chaol to go for a long run together.
And that is just a portion of her training that is used towards endurance.
Celaena is also incredibly quick, and has endured vigorous and insane amounts of assassin and martial arts fighting; the art of stealth, weaponry, and overall fighting allows her to best nearly every opponent.
Think that’s enough to go on?
Me too.
Let’s do it!
