I told you we’d be back with some more celebs from The Boys.
And this one is pretty special.
Only one time in the history of SHJ have I offered a dietary PDF on top of the workout routine PDF you download when you opt in. But, considering this article will be focusing a ton on Jennifer Esposito’s struggle with celiac disease and new gluten-free lifestyle, I want to also give you guys information on that.
You may know Esposito from roles in Crash, Taxi, Dracula 2000, Summer of Sam, The Affair, NCIS, Blue Blood, and so much more; and she will also be starring as Agent Susan Raynor in the upcoming Amazon Original Series: The Boys.
We took a look at Karl Urban’s workout and diet last week, and then followed up with Chace Crawford and now Esposito this week.
If you guys continuing enjoying it, we’ll even see some more celebs from The Boys in the future.
Jennifer Esposito Stats:
Height: 5’6
Weight: (approximate) 121 lbs.
Age: 46 years old
Jennifer Esposito falls right in the average height range among women we’ve seen at SHJ.
She’s generally listed anywhere from 5’5-5’6.
Normally the average height we see for women is around 5’4-5’6 with ladies such as Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn, Alicia Vikander, Sophia Bush, Tatiana Maslany, Evangeline Lilly, and a ton of others.
But then there is also that taller range, and among the tallest (even taller than the 5’7-5’8), are ladies like Gwendoline Christie, Gal Gadot, and a few others – with Phoebe Tonkin, Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Daisy Ridley, and so many more coming in around that 5’7-5’8 range.
And, let’s not forget the shorter ladies of SHJ like Ariana Grande, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Julianne Hough and a good handful of others.
But, either way, don’t worry.
I write these routines for anyone and everyone.

Jennifer Esposito Diet and Nutrition
Jennifer Esposito has struggled severely with celiac disease.
She’s been very outspoken about her struggles and talks about how it was even misdiagnosed.
For those of you who don’t know what celiac disease is, I’ll briefly go over it.
Medicine Plus gives us this definition for the disease:
Celiac disease is an immune disease in which people can’t eat gluten because it will damage their small intestine. If you have celiac disease and eat foods with gluten, your immune system responds by damaging the small intestine. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley.
This is different than having a gluten intolerance, and can cause many different things, including feeling bloaty, achy and depressed, as we’ll see Jennifer describes it.
In an interview with Eat This, they describe their conversation with Esposito:
After decades of feeling bloated, achy, and depressed, Jennifer Esposito’s health took a dramatic shift for the better. Four years ago, she learned she had celiac disease so she eliminated all gluten from her diet and embraced the challenge of learning ways to cook food that her body could tolerate!
The interview is also, in part, a way to talk about Jennifer’s popular gluten-free bakery in Manhattan’s East Village, “Jennifer’s Way”.
Here’s some of the interview with Esposito:
Why did you open a bakery?
I couldn’t bear to not have a piece of good bread again, and what was readily available was just awful. Celiac disease is a cruel joke because I’ve always been a food maniac. I wanted to eat food that I believed in—that was safe for me. I can’t have eggs, corn, soy, dairy, refined sugar, and gluten, obviously, so I had to be creative. Open my freezer and it’s packed with grain-free flours, such as quinoa, sweet potato, sorghum, almond, and plantain flour for pancakes. How do you not gain weight eating all those carbs?
Gluten is glue that binds things together, and that’s basically what it does in your system. I don’t want glue in my system! We use hearty, gluten-free grains, so it’s a whole different experience. You might eat something that looks like a cupcake, but basically, you’re eating quinoa, which is clean in your system. What’s for dinner at home?
I make things like a cauliflower pizza crust topped with butternut squash and sage or bouillabaisse with spaghetti squash. How do you order safely in a restaurant?
I always bring my own bread—and worst-case scenario, I get a salad with nothing on it.
She also goes on to share a recipe for “Jennifer’s Coconut Cacao Chip Macaroons”, which I’ll be sharing in the PDF download along with some of the ways she likes to train.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.

Jennifer Esposito Workout Routine Research
Well before Jennifer Esposito found out she had celiac disease she was rocking flat, firm abs (as told by Shape Mag).
And, as you can see above, she’s kept her physique well after her dietary swap.
At one point, before she found out about celiac (obviously), Esposito is quoted saying:
”I like to get cozy at home, make pizza and drink wine. I never feel guilty about indulging because I have a good attitude about myself. I come from a family where cooking and enjoying meals is a healthy part of our lives. If I want to have comfort foods every now and then, I do. And if I put on a few pounds, I don’t sweat it.”
She also stated:
I refuse to get obsessive about my diet. I don’t stuff myself, but food is too important a part of my life to not totally enjoy it,”
Obviously we talked about the fact that she has had to make some dramatic changes to her dietary restrictions, but both of these points show us that she is fairly lax when it comes to her body image and tends to just take it as it comes.
Sustainability is key.
Multiple sources also confirm that Esposito has said to do both yoga and Pilates as part of her training regime, but she definitely doesn’t follow any sort of strict regime.
She also mentioned doing:
“at least 30 minutes on the treadmill and the elliptical, plus some weight training”
So for this one we’ll be basing it around Esposito’s dietary restrictions, but I’ll also give you a couple days of training if you’d like to hit the weights.
Think you can handle it?

Jennifer Esposito Workout: Yoga, Pilates and Activity
More and more often we’re seeing celeb ladies taking to tracking their activity. While I didn’t specifically see that Esposito utilizes a tracker, I did find that she is very mindful of how active she is on a daily basis.
I was also able to find that she does her best to stay active by doing yoga and Pilates a few times a week.
This has been pretty consistent throughout her career.
Whether it’s tracking your steps, or getting out there and joining a yoga or Pilates class, make sure to get active!
