I LOVE That Awkward Moment.
And no, not just because Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller all teamed up; but also because it was freakin’ awesome.
Davis has gone from The Awkward Moment to Black Mirror and Blade Runner 2049 all the way to Terminator: Dark Fate and a ton of other new roles coming like The Turning, Irresistible and more.
So it’s safe to safe Mackenzie Davis’ workout and diet definitely deserves a spot here at SHJ.
Let’s find out how she keeps her killer shape.
Mackenzie Davis Stats:
Height: 5’10
Weight: (approximate) 121 lbs.
Age: 32 years old
Mackenzie Davis is one of the tallest women we’ve had on the site.
She’s actually tied for the second tallest…
Normally the average height we see for women is around 5’4-5’6 with ladies such as Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn, Alicia Vikander, Sophia Bush, Tatiana Maslany, Evangeline Lilly, and a ton of others.
But then there is also that taller range, and among the tallest (even taller than the 5’7-5’8), are ladies like Gwendoline Christie, Gal Gadot, and a few others – with Phoebe Tonkin, Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Daisy Ridley, and so many more coming in around that 5’7-5’8 range.
And, let’s not forget the shorter ladies of SHJ like Ariana Grande, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Julianne Hough and a good handful of others.
But, either way, don’t worry.
I write these routines for anyone and everyone.

Mackenzie Davis Diet and Nutrition
Mackenzie Davis doesn’t seem very strict about her nutrition.
But that doesn’t mean she’s not.
All it means is she is definitely either active enough or simply under her daily caloric intake enough based on whatever habitual way of eating she is used to, in order to keep her slender physique that she has shown off throughout all of her films.
That being said, she did tone up quite a bit for Terminator: Dark Fate by adding training into her regime.
We do have a couple fun quotes we can use before we completely skip over her nutrition, though.
In an interview with Yahoo, which they call a “Speed Date”, she tells us a few quick things we can utilize.
Are you veggie/vegan/gluten-free/soy-free/raw/organic/pescatarian/juicing/paleo/whatever?
No. I probably should be, but no.Do you go out to eat alone?
All the time.
Okay, so the second one isn’t THAT helpful, but at least we know she likes to eat enough to go out alone to grab some grub.
In an interview with Flaunt, she states:
“Fuck, he’s got a good life out there. Really, just all you’d ever want. A little village with a nice pub, walk your kids to school every day. That’s all I think I want.”
And while that might not seem like anything, the mention of a pub in a sentence about “the good life” leads me to believe she’s also not holding back on alcohol either.
See what I’m getting at here?
Cross her off the list of alcohol restriction, vegan, gluten-free and all the other things named above and you’ll likely be adding her to the top diet used among celebrities on the list we recently saw!
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.

Mackenzie Davis Workout Routine Research
The first thing you should know about Mackenzie Davis is that she’s extremely motivated and not afraid of stepping out of her comfort zone.
Actually, she seems to thrive outside of it.
Here’s what she tells Nerdist about her first role in a “big action movie” with Terminator: Dark Fate:
You have done a lot of different projects but this is your first full-on big action movie. Was this something you were interested in exploring?
Mackenzie Davis: I didn’t have any designs on it before the opportunity kind of arose. I wasn’t like, “And next it’s action.” But when I met with Tim, and I was going through the audition process, and I went to Tim’s studio—he has his visual design company Blur—and he ran me through all of the sort of stunts and pre-visualizations for my character. And it was so foreign and odd to me that this man thought I would be a suitable person to and inhabit this role that I… it just felt like, what a strange turn of events. I got really competitive and really wanted to do it because I just couldn’t believe that he would, would think that I was suited.
What really struck me in this quote was the fact that this seemed “foreign and odd” that she may be suited for this role, yet she goes on to say that she “got really competitive and really wanted to do it”.
Sounds like someone who is motivated to prove themselves.
In The Academy we specifically look for a trigger similar to this one. We want to know what will motivate YOU specifically.
They continue the interview with some information about her training:
And then once you got into it, how much did you push yourself physically in terms of training?
I think once you decide, you kind of have to do with the absolute most you can possibly do. I mean, I know when I started training I was shooting another movie, and we started doing four days a week. It was three months before we started shooting. And they were like, “Alicia Vikander started six months before Tomb Raider. We’re already so late.” And I was like, “I’ll show you what’s too late.” And so yeah, I had this real feeling of urgency, and I was already sort of behind the clock. So we went really hard once we started. I finished that movie and then it was six days a week until the end of production.
Alicia Vikander’s workout is one that we have already seen, so we can DEFINITELY use that as a basis for this one.
They finish up the training part of the interview with some more awesome information we can use, though.
Here’s what Davis has to say:
Do you feel different, even a year after finishing shooting?
I’ve kept it up a bit. It was coupled with such a lack of sleep. I mean, my makeup took two or three hours every day, and then I worked out in the morning. So I just started about four, four and a half hours earlier than anybody else, which part of that time was sitting in a chair and watching a movie while my makeup got done. But I was just so tired by the end of it that I didn’t feel healthy in the way that I think you’re supposed to feel. Because it was just sort of running something to the end. It’s like exam period or something, and then you get sick right afterwards because you just allotted this amount of energy for this thing.
But I still use weights. I feel really comfortable in a gym, and I feel like I don’t need a trainer or anything anymore. I can just go to the gym by myself and train myself. And yeah, I am essentially lazy. So I think unlike some of those people, it didn’t turn a switch in me that I’ll never go back from, but it’s definitely changed my behavior.
So we know she was training 4 days a week which turned into 6 days a week to step it up a notch and be ready for the role, and judging by her toned arms it definitely payed off.
We also obviously know she’s become accustomed to using weights, so expect to see a routine that does not shy away from them.
