Obviously my first thought was to make this entire entire article revolve around The Dark Knight…
I’m a nerd and this is Superhero Jacked….
But..whatever, I’m a people pleaser, so I’ll do what Hathaway and the SHJ Army deserves, and I’ll expand the article!
Hathaway started blowing up in the industry with her role in Princess Diaries (she was actually in Get Real, a TV Series prior) and never looked back. From there she was in Ella Enchanted and a handful more before blowing up in the industry again with The Devil Wears Prada. Since then she’s been in TONS of amazing films, also including The Dark Knight Rises where she appears as Selina, aka Catwoman!
And, throughout the entirety of those films Hathaway had women wishing for her incredible physique!
Which is what we’ll cover here.
Anne Hathaway Stats:
Height: 5’8
Weight: (approximate) 125 lbs.
Age: 35 years old
Hathaway coming in at the 5’8 range puts her right in the range of the tallest women we’ve seen at SHJ. She’s right there with ladies like Jennifer Lawrence, Daisy Ridley, Sophie Turner, Rihanna and even the taller ladies like Charlize Theron, Gal Gadot, and Zendaya.
The average is generally around 5’5-5’6 with women like Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Katie Cassidy, Caity Lotz, Alicia Vikander, Katheryn Winnick, and a ton of others!
But, we also have a shorter range with women like Natalie Portman, Julianne Hough, Emilia Clarke, Scarlett Johansson, Demi Lovato and more!
Either way though, it doesn’t matter – these routines are made for any shape and size to utilize.
Yes, that means you!

Anne Hathaway Diet and Nutrition
Much of what can be found on the internet about Hathaway’s diet is in regards to some extreme weight loss she had for her role in Les Miserables which required dropping 25 lbs. (of weight that wasn’t there to lose).
What’s going on lately?
We’ve been seeing more and more actors and actresses with these extreme diets. Actually, co-star in The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale, had his own – and we just covered Adam Driver and Michael Fassbender who have been through their own.
But, for the sake of this article we’ll more-so be focusing in on Dark Knight Rises and the diet she uses to STAY in excellent shape!
Shape.com tells us:
While preparing for her role as Catwoman, Hathaway followed an almost vegan, anti-inflammatory diet, which includes whole grains to control blood sugar, avocados, almonds (she doesn’t like walnuts), sesame seeds, dark chocolate, bright red and orange vegetables that are high in antioxidants (Hathaway loves yams), dark leafy greens, ginger, and turmeric. Keeping her protein levels up to build muscle during intense training sessions was the main challenge Hathaway faced, so Keller worked a lot of Seitan and tempeh into the meal plan.
Now that sounds MUCH more sustainable.
And some more great info Shape gives us is:
Some of the actress’s favorite meals while preparing for the film include miso soup, a tempeh club avocado sandwich on gluten-free bread, Tuscan brown rice salad, vegetarian chicken fried steak made with seitan, egg white frittatas, and vegetarian egg rolls. It all sounds super healthy but Keller admits Hathaway is a chocolate person and loved her gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, fudge brownies, and marble cake. While working on Dark Knight Rises, Keller made sure the actress had a dessert every day so she wouldn’t have any cravings. Other sweet fixes Hathaway enjoyed include chocolate power smoothies made with almond milk, and Keller’s Mighty Bars, which she shipped overseas during filming.
They also tell us that her caloric intake was around 1500-1800 per day.Â
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.Â
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.
Anne Hathaway Workout Routine Research
Moving into Hathaway’s workout is definitely fun (I know that because I already did the research).
PopSugar tells us this from an interview with Hathaway that I thought was AWESOME and newbies need to hear:
Before training for The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway didn’t exactly love to work out. In fact, she said she hated exercising but eventually changed her mind. “There’s a workout hump where you’re so weak that you hate everything, and everything’s painful, and you look like an idiot,” she said about her training regimen. Now Anne’s “that person” who loves to exercise and likes to do Bikram yoga to stay fit.
That is so freakin’ true.
See, celebrities are human too!
They proceed into this information for us:
To get in shape for her Catwoman role, Anne did stunt training five days a week and danced for an hour and a half daily. She also lifted weights and practiced martial arts and yoga. Her intense regimen helped her realize that even in Hollywood, it’s not always about your dress size. “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job, I also have to be strong,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2011.
Which is also pretty awesome.
We now know she trained at least five days per week, and it was split up with stunt training, weights, martial arts and yoga!
Normally I’d give a shoutout to either our Jedi Path for the yoga tie-in, or Coach Derek for the MMA tie-in to The Academy, but we’ve just been seeing so many celebs utilize both!
Well, I guess I technically just gave the shout-out anyways…
