After seeing Venom, you had to know where I was taking it for the second character of the week.
Okay, I guess you could have been thrown off a bit because we usually have a male and a female, but come on you still could have guessed it.
I mean, we even saw Riz Ahmed’s workout routine this week (who is playing Doctor Carlton Drake), and I told you this is a Venom themed week!
Ah, whatever.
Better luck next time.
We based the stats for Venom off of Eddie Brock, who is the character in our Tom Hardy Venom movie, and for this one we’ll be basing the stats off of Cletus Kasady.
Carnage (As Cletus Kasady) Stats:
Height: 6’1
Weight: 190 lbs
Real Name: Cletus Kasady
Powers: Yes (with symbiote)
Cletus Kasady it’s JUST about average height for celebs we’ve seen at SHJ.
Although he is two inches shorter than Eddie Brock’s Venom.
Vegeta tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only an inch taller. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu – and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
Just above them are Aquaman, Red Hood and Punisher standing only an inch or so taller.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, with Thor and Cyborg towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5.
And, of course, Hulk is up there with them, and sometimes even portrayed much taller.
Yeah, that means All Might was the tallest at 7’2, only sometimes surpassed by The Hulk – and Zangief just missing the tallest spot at 7’0!
And I say “was” because Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Carnage Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each character, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Bane or The Hulk may get something specifically different**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Hugh Jackman and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting daily, and I also use it myself in conjunction with cyclical ketosis.
That being said, I also recommend tracking and paying attention to protein intake.
BUT, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, Superhumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Oh, and if you’re down with calorie counting instead, that’s always an option as well. It’s just important to be aware of specific rules and precision while counting.

Carnage Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
This is where I get to break down the “how” and “why” of the workout we’re going to build based on the characters, in this case Carnage’s (as Cletus Kasady), powers and/or abilities.
Carnage is kind of insane.
Here’s what his Marvel Wiki has listed for his “occupation”, just to give you an idea of the insanity level we’re talking about:
Mass murderer, serial killer, criminal; former vigilante, psychiatric patient
And, they tell us about Carnage’s origin by explaining:
Human bonded with the offspring of Venom Symbiote while in prison with Eddie Brock
Which leaves us knowing his powers and abilities to be:
- Superhuman strength, speed, agility, and durability
On top of what his Wikipedia page tells us to add to that list with:
- All powers of the Symbiote’s first known host, Spider-Man
- Limited shapeshifting and camouflage
- Symbiote’s autonomous defense capabilities
- Undetectable by Spider-Man’s “Spider-sense”
Yes, you read that right.
All powers of Spider-Man as well.
I mean, come on!
Well, looks like we have a lot to work on.
Let’s do this.

The Carnage Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4-6 days per week
Explanation:
We’re talking about Carnage. This routine is pretty brutal. BUT, it’s effective and will leave you sore and wanting more. There are 4 days of programmed training, and the other 1-2 days can be added as activity or mixed martial arts training. All heroes should know how to defend themselves.
What you need to know:
A Superset means you’re performing those movements back to back. If a movement is part of “Superset 1” it’s part of the grouping of movements in that superset and you perform them back to back and then proceed to break and do another set [of those movements] after.
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Do one minute ON (sprint 6-10mph) and one minute OFF (walk 2.5-3.3mph) for 25 minutes. That means you go back and forth every minute for the duration. On, off, on, off, etc.
When lifting your initial lifts/compounds (especially), you should be using pyramid training.
If this looks familiar at all, it’s because it’s a combination of Riz Ahmed’s routine (from the Venom movie), and Spider-Man’s workout.
