If you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan you definitely love the show Elementary.
Which is part of the reason for this Jonny Lee Miller Workout Routine and Diet Plan.
Miller has also been in roles like Mindhunters, Trainspotting, Dracula 2000, and many more!
Oh, and I should also mention that he made his Muy Thai Debut in 2019 at the age of 46 years old; and kicked ass!
We’ll obviously talk more about this in our research section, but he said that it fulfilled his childhood dream!
If you’ve seen him in Elementary you know he definitely showed off some of his mixed martial arts moves, and shredded physique.
Jonny Lee Miller Stats:
Height: 5’9-5’11
Weight: (approximate) 172 lbs.
Age: 47 years old
I’m just going to start telling people I’m 6’2.
Jonny Lee Miller stands in around 5’10-5’11 (although some sources list him at 5’9 3/4 to be super-precise).
The average height falls in the range of 6’1-6’3 with celebs like Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Adam Driver, Stephen Amell, Clive Standen and so many more.
Guys around 5’10-6’0 are dudes like Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Jason Statham, but the ACTUAL shorter range is filled with guys like Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, Kit Harington, Tom Holland and more.
Even taller than them are guys like The Mountain, Joe Manganiello, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Winston Duke, Alexander Skarsgard and a few others.
But, don’t worry either way.
We write these routines to be utilized by any shape and size.

Jonny Lee Miller Diet and Nutrition
I should make immediate mention to the fact that I listed Jonny Lee Miller’s weight at approximately 172 lbs.
During his fight against Robert Bermudez he weighed in at the 145 lb. mark.
Fighters diets for dropping weight for a fight is much different than sustainable diets used by celebrities and athletes we’ve seen on the site.
Including Jonny Lee Miller’s diet that he uses on a normal basis to have his ripped six pack abs and toned physique at around 165-175 lbs.
We saw a ton of information on this when we featured Ryan Garcia’s workout routine and fight diet plan.
Outside of making that distinction, Jonny Lee Miller hasn’t shared much about his “regular” nutrition and dietary guidelines.
If we base that one what we’ve seen from research on over 300 celebrities (and what it means when they also don’t specifically make mention to anything) it generally means they eat rather intuitively or don’t follow anything super-strict.
As you’ll learn in our research section below Jonny Lee Miller is extremely active, so he can likely get away with eating a fairly clean diet with a mix of indulgences along the way.
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais, & Eat Fat, Lose Fat) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons to HAVE the strict guidelines.
We’ve seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.Â
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hopper, and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.

Jonny Lee Miller Workout Routine Research
Outside of his training in mixed martial arts Jonny Lee Miller is quite the runner.
Of course with the MMA training comes calisthenics and other bodyweight training that leads him to his lean and toned physique, but most of his training is cardiovascular (endurance work) and high intensity stuff.
Entertainment IE tells us this:
The British star of the hit CBS series Elementary always looks like he’s in good shape in the show, but he’s not just a gym fanatic – he’s got a great marathon time and has ran ultramarathons too. Miller ran the London Marathon in a personal best time of 3.01, which is insanely quick for a non-elite athlete. Then, a couple of years ago he decided to run almost twice that distance in support of research for the rare disease Sanfilippo syndrome, raising tens of thousands of dollars in the process. He signed up for the epic Saharan Desert ultrarun Marathon des Sables in 2006 but couldn’t take part due to filming commitments. Jaysus, take the finger out, Jonny.
And if you take a look at Miller’s own social accounts (more specifically his Instagram feed) you’ll find a ton of images of his mixed martial arts training paired with his running endeavours, even out in South Africa for a desert run.
CBS lists 7 Things You Didn’t Know About Jonny Lee Miller, and one of them is about his running:
The speedy Miller runs a half-marathon twice per week and completed the 2008 London Marathon at 3:01:40, averaging under seven minutes per mile. He’s also completed an ultra marathon, running 50 miles through Bear Mountain, New York on behalf of Jonah’s Just Begun, a nonprofit that raises fund and awareness for Sanfilippo Syndrome.
Of course some of that is just confirming what we already knew from Entertainment IE, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to double up on sources.
Jumping back to Miller’s Instagram feed we find a ton of information from the pictures of his mixed martial arts training that I mentioned.
He was training in both a Muay Thai gym and Jiu Jitsu gym to prepare for his fight, and even shares a picture from Evolution Muay Thai in NYC that will give us an idea of the training he did there.
The image is of a white piece of paper taped to a wood wall that states:
FIGHTERS: EVERY DAMN DAY
Running: 30+ minutes
Conditioning: 30 minutes
Bag Work: 30 minutes
Clinch: 30 minutes
Hitting Pads: 30 minutes
Holding Pads: 30 minutes
Jump Rope/Shadow Boxing: 15 minutes
Stretching Foam Rolling: 15 minutes
And Jonny Lee Miller writes:
This is what it takes to fight for Evolution Muay Thai under master Brandon Levi; 3 1/2 hours a day for 5/6 weeks.
Which is part of the reason he was even more shredded than usual for his fight…
We’ll be pairing MMA training with running for his actual workout routine, so be prepared to step it up a notch.
It’s also fitting that the image below is Miller standing with co-star of Trainspotting Ewan McGregor who is also an avid runner and a routine that we will utilize as an option to keep up with Miller’s own running habits.
