Did I mention something about the CW yet?
I figure I’ll just get that out of the way right off the bat.
There’s something in the water over there. It’s like Mike’s Special Stuff (Space Jam reference).
As a network, The CW definitely is where we’ve had the most celebs pop on on SHJ. All the superhero shows (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, etc), Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Riverdale, and more.
Well, Gina Rodriguez is becoming a movie star right before our eyes, but she’s also the star of Jane the Virgin on The CW as well.
Gina Rodriguez Stats:
Height: 5’3
Weight: (approximate) 128 lbs.
Age: 34 years old
Gina Rodriguez falls among the shorter women we’ve seen at SHJ.
Don’t worry though, there are a handful of others right there with her.
Normally the average height we see for women is around 5’4-5’6 with ladies such as Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn, Alicia Vikander, Sophia Bush, Tatiana Maslany, Evangeline Lilly, and a ton of others.
But then there is also that taller range, and among the tallest (even taller than the 5’7-5’8), are ladies like Gwendoline Christie, Gal Gadot, and a few others – with Phoebe Tonkin, Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Daisy Ridley, and so many more coming in around that 5’7-5’8 range.
And, let’s not forget the shorter ladies of SHJ like Ariana Grande, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Julianne Hough and a good handful of others.
But, either way, don’t worry.
I write these routines for anyone and everyone.

Gina Rodriguez Diet and Nutrition
Gina Rodriguez believes in a sustainable diet.
And there are many ways to make a diet sustainable, which each depend on the person.
For her, it’s celebrating the successes.
She tells Shape.com:
“It’s important to celebrate my successes with the people around me,” she says. “Eating, drinking, and toasting are big parts of my family gatherings.”
She continues to talk about some of the things she includes in her diet to fight fatigue (while also mentioning how NOT restrictive she is):
“Fatigue is already an issue with Hashimoto’s, and some scenes can really take a lot out of you,” she says. [Fans will no doubt recall the heartbreaking crying scene last season—don’t worry, newcomers, we won’t spoil it for you.] “That’s a by-product of the job, so I keep my energy up by being conscientious about the food I put in my body—eating more fiber and vegetable protein.” That’s not to say she follows a restrictive eating plan though. “I eat healthily and work out, so I don’t worry about having a red velvet cupcake or slice of pizza.”
For those of you who did not know, Gina Rodriguez has Hashimoto’s disease, which is: ” is a condition in which your immune system attacks your thyroid, a small gland at the base of your neck below your Adam’s apple. The thyroid gland is part of your endocrine system, which produces hormones that coordinate many of your body’s functions.”, as MayoClinic tells us.
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.
That’s why our Academy Nutrition Classes (Monks, Minimalists, SuperHumans, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Greek Gods, Samurais) revolve around helping you find the specific diet that is right FOR YOU.
We’ve also seen a lot of celebs opt for specific restrictions.
For example: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting(something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
And, that’s just to name a few celebs from each, by the way.
You can check out our Nutrition Pillars for more information and articles on all of the above and more.

Gina Rodriguez Workout Routine Research
Gina Rodriguez loves boxing and Muy Thai.
That’s two in a row this week for mixed martial arts lovers (we also saw Keanu Reeves).
PopSugar.com states:
It’s no secret that Gina loves boxing and Muay Thai. Her father was a boxing referee and taught her how to box at an early age. Her high-intensity training is what helps her stay in shape, despite battling Hashimoto’s disease.
And in an interview with Self.com we get more of an insight on Gina Rodriguez’s diet and training for specific roles:
Over the years, she started taking her treatments seriously, changing her diet, and working out for health instead of weight loss. Though weight comes off naturally as a result of all her efforts combined, it’s also complicated by what roles she’s working on at a given time. To prepare for her intensely physical role in Annihilation, she weight trained and went vegan, so naturally, her body changed. When she spends 16-hour days on-set playing the titular character in the CW series Jane the Virgin—a role for which she’s determined not to lose weight—she’s at what she calls her “comfortable” weight, which she can maintain without an intense workout regimen and diet changes.
So Rodriguez has jumped around a bit when it comes to dieting and training, but mainly she opts for body positivity and sustainability.
But don’t think that means she half-asses her training in anyway.
We’re told:
When she took up Muay Thai boxing as a hobby, Rodriguez didn’t just hire a Hollywood trainer to teach her; she spent a month in Thailand learning from the pros.
Now this I know Coach Derek would love.
He really liked the episode of FIGHTWORLD on Netflix with Frank Grillo that took place in Thailand.
Or maybe that was me and he just agreed…
