At what point do I not have to announce when we’re featuring a babe?
Like, c’mon they’re all babes. It’s enough.
SIKE! Babe alert.
Maggie Q is a mega babe.
Similar to our Mega Paths inside The Academy, but in babe form, and much, much cooler.
Maggie Q is our Nikita, but she’s also Tori from the Divergent Trilogy, Hannah Wells from Designated Survivor, and even our Princess Diana / Wonder Woman from Young Justice.
And you guys know how much I love Young Justice (just type it in the search bar and you’ll see just how many characters we’ve seen from it)!
Maggie Q Stats:
Weight: (approximate) 120 lbs
Age: 40 years old
I know I’ve said this before, but I could not believe that Maggie Q was actually 40 years old. WOW.
Her physique is out of this world, and her height range falls right there with the average height among women (although I did see her also listed as 5’7 on an outside source).
Normally the average height we see for women is around 5’4-5’6 with ladies such as Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn, Alicia Vikander, Sophia Bush, Tatiana Maslany, Evangeline Lilly, and a ton of others.
But then there is also that taller range, and among the tallest (even taller than the 5’7-5’8), are ladies like Gwendoline Christie, Gal Gadot, and a few others – with Phoebe Tonkin, Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Daisy Ridley, and so many more coming in around that 5’7-5’8 range.
But, either way, don’t worry.

Maggie Q Diet and Nutrition
Cutting straight to the point: Maggie Q is a vegan.
And this time a REAL vegan.
In an interview with VegNews Maggie Q says:
VegNews: What’s your vegan story?
Maggie Q: I transitioned to a plant-based diet about 19 years ago while living in Hong Kong. I attended a concert, and a PETA Asia employee was tabling outside of the show. I was watching her, and it didn’t seem anyone was paying much attention to what she was offering. It made me feel bad for her, so I walked over. We connected, and she sent me information on animal-welfare in the fashion, food, and entertainment industries. It made me sick, but nothing prepared me for the truth of the environmental impact of meat production. I quit cold turkey and never looked back. I didn’t understand how I could have ever claimed to love animals but hadn’t made the choices to protect them.
And the interview continues with some more awesome information:
VN: In regards to meals, is there such a thing as a typical day for you?
MQ: With my work schedule, “typical” is hard. One thing that rarely varies is my morning. Wheatgrass, turmeric, ginger, and lemon shot. Blended green juice, and a smoothie to go. I also try to get in a daily dose of probiotics. I use ActivatedYou, which is a supplement brand I co-created with Dr. Edison de Mello.
VN: How are the vegan eats on set? Do you find it challenging to find something healthy and vegan with craft services?
MQ: No, because I don’t deal with food from production. It’s not real food. I don’t find it challenging because if there is nothing ethical to eat, I fast. It gives me better clarity, and I celebrate it. However, on Nikita, I worked so many hours and needed so many calories (that) I hired a chef who learned the art of vegan cooking and mastered it! I loved her, and I miss getting food from her every two hours! Yes, that’s how often I ate.
One tip Maggie Q gives on being a vegan is:
“The way to feel more fulfilled when including more veggies in your diet is to eat a ‘heavy’ grain with them!” she explains on the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine site. “I love black, red, and brown rice, and I mix them all together. I usually throw lentils or a bean in there to make it even heavier and more nutritious. Don’t forget to mix in flax seeds, seaweed, or liquid aminos! Put your veggies on top of something like that, and tell me you’re not full!”
And, just so you know Maggie Q’s diet also has dessert involved (so don’t worry). Here’s how her interview with Health Mag opens up:
“Oooh, they have lemon cake with vegan cream cheese frosting—that’s so hard to find! I’m getting a slice of that. You should get a slice of cake and one of their chocolates. I’m determined to show people how good vegan desserts can be.”
Later on she even tells us her favorite snack:
Snack time: “I try to eat nonprocessed foods. I love sprouted and dehydrated nuts. Nuts are very hard to digest, but if you sprout them, they become more digestible. I like this company called Healing Home Foods. It has nuts, and its granola is the best.”
We see a lot of celebs opt for a sustainable approach like this.

Maggie Q Workout Routine Research
Maggie Q should just run Hollywood because her body and beauty is what all the yogi vegans aspire to be.
And yes, she also loves yoga, if that wasn’t clear.
Maggie Q’s workout routine is a lot of fun, though.
It isn’t ALL yoga. She really likes to switch it up.
Maggie Q is quoted saying this about her training style:
I exercise every day and there’s nothing I don’t do. I run, I do yoga, I swim, I bike, I box. I love to box. I’m a huge boxer.
And if you look to the pictures about that I shared we see her doing yoga, yes, but also leaving some classes in the one about our nutrition section.
It’s safe to say that aside from her physical training done for her roles (which I’ll talk a little about in a second), Maggie Q likes to jump into different style classes to get a butt-whooping workout in!
Here’s a snippet from her training for Nikita:
“To prepare for Nikita‘s demanding action sequences, Maggie followed a routine combining core exercises, plyometrics and martial arts,” says the show’s stunt coordinator, Jonathon Eusebio–a stunt performer trained in tae kwon do, muay tai, boxing and more, who has worked with Q since 2006. Here, Eusebio shares the one-move wonder than targets almost every muscle–you’ll be in fighting shape!
So maybe that’s why she got so heavily into boxing afterwards!
But, she also says that yoga is the key to her fighting. In an interview at a New York Comic Con she says:
If I didn’t do yoga, I couldn’t fight on screen. It makes me strong, it makes me flexible, it gives me [sort of] a longevity in the fights because the (laughs) “hardcore yoga”, allows you periods of strength training that you wouldn’t get from other exercises. You know, when you’re doing an exercise and you’re standing on one leg for eight minutes and doing different postures you’re STRONG.
And she also talks about the fact that she also needs that zen/focus that she gets from yoga to help her with her work. She even jokes that all the film guys see her kick-butt and now make comments about the fact that they need to start doing yoga as well!
One class that Maggie Q loves a lot is Katonah Yoga in New York which Maggie says:
“Danielle Rosati [a certified Katonah Yoga teacher] has made me fall in love with my practice. Her enthusiasm and knowledge take you deeper and create a foundation to build on for a lifetime.”
And Danielle Rosati tells us this about her practice:

A huge piece of our theory is that one’s physiology informs their psychology, meaning how you live in your body influences how you’ll experience life.

Maggie Q Workout Routine
5-7 days per week
Normally, as you probably know, we have to rest at least a day of the week to let our body repair. In this case Maggie Q switches it up so much that her training is similar to just staying active and staying on the move. She’s not lifting a ton of weight every day and breaking down the muscle to eventually have to rebuild and repair, but rather staying active in multiple different variations so that she can keep it up nearly every day of the week. For that reason I’m going to be building you a mock schedule that you can utilize and then I’ll be sharing some mixed martial arts training and some poses from Maggie as well!

Maggie Q Yoga Poses and Additional Information
The best bet for you is to utilize:

But, here are some yoga poses that Maggie Q shares from Health.com.
This balancing pose strengthens the arms, wrists, and upper back; tones the abdominal area; and requires full body integration!
Strengthen and stretch hips, hamstrings, and calf muscles with this move. It’s great for people who sit a lot.
This advanced move flips your perspective upside down, changes your relationship to gravity, takes pressure off your feet, and flushes your brain with blood and oxygen.
