Umbrella Academy comes back for season two in a few days, so it’s only right we get some more Umbrella Academy themed workouts up on the site.
Starting with Luther Hargreeve’s Workout AKA Spaceboy Workout!
We’ve technically already seen Luther’s workout in celebrity form when we took a look at Tom Hopper’s Workout Routine and Diet Plan (and then even followed it up with a Tom Hopper Circuit Workout), but now it’s time for the character variation!
And, just like we do for our Superhero Workouts, we’ll also be doing for our Umbrella Academy Workouts; so expect to see some Villains to go with them!

Luther Hargreeves Stats:
Height: 7’0
Weight: 450 lbs.
Real Name: Luther Hargreeves (Spaceboy)
Powers: Yes
Spaceboy is HUGE.
Obviously, compared to some of the other enormous characters we’ve seen he isn’t THAT big, but he still stands in at around Top 5.
Vegeta were tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Luther Hargreeves Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Luther Hargreeves Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To start us off I actually want to do a small biography for Luther Hargreeves (AKA Spaceboy) for those who don’t know exactly who he is.
Here’s what his Wiki Fandom tells us about him:
Luther Hargreeves a.k.a #00.01 and Spaceboy is the leader of the team and twin brother to #00.05, The Boy. He is codenamed Spaceboy due to his accomplishment of being the youngest person ever to become an astronaut. It is unsure as to whether Luther’s codename was chosen by himself, Hargreeves or the media, as a poster of ‘Spaceboy – The first boy in space’ is shown in The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite.
Spaceboy was involved in a disastrous mission to Mars. His head was attached to the body of a Martian Ape and has gained all the physical abilities of one, after Hargreeves performed a life saving surgery on him.
In Apocalypse Suite it becomes clear Spaceboy has romantic feelings for The Rumor. They kiss once, but after this Spaceboy thinks he is too monstrous for her to ever love him back and have a decent relationship.
And to further that a bit, they talk about his mission to space here:
Luther became the first boy in space, aided by his co-pilot Phinneus Pogo. His achievement led to him becoming known as “Spaceboy.” During a further mission to the planet Mars, Spaceboy was critically injured. Sir Reginald was forced to perform emergency experimental surgery to save his life by transplanting his head onto the body of a Martian Gorilla.
Which makes his powers make much more sense.
Both his Wiki Fandom and SuperheroDB (the source for his height and weight) agree that his powers are as such:

- Durability
- Endurance
- Speed and Agility
- Stamina
- Intellect

We’re going to be working with a 5×5 style of training like we’ve seen with other strength training protocols on the site. You’ll be training 4 days a week utilizing 5×5 and then 1 day a week devoted to accessory work and pyramid training.
