You guys already know that we’ve put some more attention into growing out our YuYu Hakusho Inspired Workouts, and now we’re bringing in another villain.
We had to start with Younger Toguro, for obvious reasons, but now we’re talking about Yomi!
And, as I’m sure a lot of members of The SHJ Army will like to hear: we’ll be building this one out around bodyweight training.
So far only our Genkai Inspired Workouts has been within our calisthenics workouts; but now Yomi is going to allow us to switch it up a bit.
Yomi Stats:
Real Name: Yomi
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Yu Yu Hakusho
Powers: Yes
Normally if we can’t get a good height and weight on a character we can at least rely on his (or her) appearance section saying something like “of tall height” or “average height”, but Yomi is basically unknown other than what we see.
That said, I found a fan breakdown of all the heights and they have Yomi listed at 7’2! That even brings him in to a category with our behemoths among The Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Yomi Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Yomi Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Yomi I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his starting bio section that gives us this:
Yomi is one of The Three Kings of the Demon World. He is the father of Shura through cloning. He is the main antagonist of the Three Kings Saga and the final antagonist of the series & the strongest out of the Three Kings being able to defeat An Upper S class Yusuke in his Mazukou Form.
We can clearly skip his appearance section, which didn’t even mention the fact that he was a behemoth, and move into his powers and abilities section.
We’ll get to a specific breakdown, but here’s how they start us off with his overall abilities:
Since he lost his sight, Yomi grew four extra ears to compensate for his lack of vision. Yomi’s sense of hearing is so great that he claims to be able to hear every word being spoken in his kingdom of Gandara. He is also able to accurately pick up on changes in an organism’s heart rate, allowing him to guess facial expressions and current emotional composition, despite his lack of sight. Having modeled himself after Kurama, Yomi is a calm, calculating fighter, being able to measure the exact speeds of the opponent’s attacks with his hearing, and activating his barrier at the moment of impact so as to not waste energy. In the manga, Yusuke says that someone told him that Yomi’s ability to fight purely by sensing ki and relying on hearing takes a massive amount of concentration and stamina, which is one of the main reasons that his fight with Yusuke went on for so long despite his power advantage over Yusuke.
From there we can move into more specific abilities.
Here’s what we’ll be working with:
- Flight: a special ability where the user manipulates their Energy so that they can levitate or fly.
- Superhuman Stamina: A notable example of this is his fight against Yusuke, which lasted for around sixty hours — this is mentioned by Yusuke in the 170th chapter of the manga.
- Super Speed: Yomi is one of the fastest characters known in Demon World and while this has caused some to mistakenly believe he can teleport due to his fast movement, he can also do Teleportation himself. This incredible speed gives him an edge in battle against slower or close-range fighters.
- Teleportation: Yomi has shown on numerous occasions the ability to teleport.
Which makes our goals pretty obvious.
I hope you like cardio…
Kind of kidding, kind of not.
The goals for our Yomi Inspired Workout are:
- Yomi’s Super Speed
- Yomi’s Superhuman Stamina
- Yomi’s Slim and Toned Physique
This one is built more around endurance training than anything else, so if you’re not into that you’ll probably want to find another calisthenics workout; or even start with our Beginner Ninja Workout and then move into something else.
That said, we will still have 2-3 days of calisthenics training which will be fairly basic if you want to use that as a base.
Check out all The SHJ Programs and start unleashing your inner SuperHuman.
Yomi Workout Routine
Training Volume:
5 days per week
Explanation:
As I mentioned above, this is technically a calisthenics workout, but it’s built around a speed and endurance focus. You’ll have 5 days of training per week, and 3-4 of them will involve the core work being running.
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
Yomi Workout: Sample Schedule
Monday: Long Distance Run Day
Tuesday: Full Recovery Run Day
Wednesday: Big Circuit Workout
Thursday: Speed Circuit with Core Circuit Finisher
Friday: Short Distance Run [For Time] and Short Circuit
Saturday: Active Rest Day
Sunday: Mandatory Rest Day
Yomi Workout Routine: Long Distance Run Day
Complete the Following Distances FOR TIME!
(Measure Your Time and Complete it For Speed, Looking to Improve Over Time)
Beginner: 3 Mile Run
Intermediate: 5 Mile Run
Advanced: 7-10+ Mile Run
Note that while these distances might seem daunting, it is okay to start by running and walking on and off to work your way up to a better score.
Break, run, break, run, and then the next time go out there and break a bit less! 🙂
Yomi Workout Routine: Full Recovery Run Day
Complete the Following at Easy to Moderate Pace:
Beginner: 15 Minute Run/Walk/Jog
Intermediate: 20-30 Minute Run/Walk/Jog
Advanced: 30-60 Minute Run/Walk/Jog
Your recovery run revolves around getting out there and moving for the time listed.
You may be able to get out for a walk/run for 30-60 minutes as a beginner/intermediate if you plan on walking/speed walking for the majority of the duration to allow for more recovery – so keep in mind the time listed is more time spent RUNNING.
That being said: while it’s okay to walk/speed walk, if you plan on doing it for the majority of the duration you should increase the time to 30-60 minutes at a minimum.
Yomi Workout Routine: BIG Circuit Workout

- Walk 60 Seconds at 2-3 MPH (-60% Effort)
- Repeat for a Total of 30 Minutes
- Cooldown Incline Walk for 10-15 Minutes
Side Note: A good way to measure your improvement over time during your speed circuit is to pay attention to what speed your capable of performing your sprints at and which speed you’re comfortable with your walks at. Another great thing to do is measure your heart rate directly after your sprint and directly before the next sprint to see how quickly you recover and then compare that to future circuits.
Calisthenic Core Circuit: 2 Rounds
Complete Each Movement for 30 Seconds
Side Plank Right
Sit Ups
Hollow Hold
Lying Leg Raises
Plank Hold (60 Seconds)
Flutter Kicks
L-Sit Hold

Yomi Workout Routine: Short Distance Run [For Time] and Short Circuit
Complete the Following FOR TIME! 🙂
Beginner: 1.5 Miles
Intermediate: 3 Miles
Advanced: 3-5 Miles
Similar to your long distance run training you should be looking to improve on this run each week, but also take it a bit easier than your timed distance run and don’t be afraid to scale it as needed going into the circuit – especially if you’re choosing one with running.
Short Circuit Workout:
For your short circuit you are going to be switching it up each week and jumping through different circuits.
- For Plus Ultra members or members of our Core 90 Day Systems: Insert a Benchmark Workout/Challenge Each Week Into This Slot
- For Non-Program Members: Utilize our Jump Rope Workout Database or our Best HIIT Workouts
Yomi Workout Routine: Mandatory Rest Day Note
Your schedule does not need to adhere to this exact daily structure BUT you should have a rest day prior to your distance run day each week, as this will be an extremely important marker for your improvement and how well you are completing it over time! 🙂
Rest days are mandatory, BUT it’s okay to get active as long as you’re allowing your body to recover.

I just want to memtion that there are few confirmed canon heights for YYH characters (same with birthdays). So it is best to try to measure height based off what we see. That being said Yomi easily looks 6’3 or 6’4 imo.
I wouldn’t say few. We have hundreds of them on the site. But you’ll also notice I have tons of “fan guesstimates” and my own estimates on the site as well.
