We’re back for more DBZ characters this week.
And it’s for a special reason.
Last month the first ever Mega Path dropped inside The Academy. The Robin to Nightwing Mega Path features multiple workouts that lead you from beginner Robin to advanced Nightwing.
Now, in August, we’ll be releasing the Kakarot to Goku Mega Path!
We had The Minimalist Path which was also The Nightwing Path, and we also have The Saiyan Path, and I believe they’re the most used paths within The Academy, so it’s only right these are our first two Mega Paths.
(Mega Paths come in comic-style packet that advances you through progression related to a specific character’s journey).
We have seen a decent handful of other DBZ and DB Super characters, though.
Here’s some of them: Goku, Vegeta, Toppo, Ribrianne, Kefla, Jiren, Videl, Broly, Kale, and Caulifla.
But somehow we’re missing out on Gohan and Piccolo.
I’m thinking next week might even be the Androids 17 and 18!
Gohan Stats:
Height: 5’9 (Adult)
Weight: 134 lbs (Adult)
Real Name: Gohan
Powers: Yes
Adult Gohan is actually much taller than the heights we see usually listed for Vegeta and Goku.
Which I suppose isn’t hard considering Vegeta is one of the shortest characters on the site.
Vegeta were tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
Just above them are Aquaman, Red Hood and Punisher standing only an inch or so taller.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
And, of course, Hulk and Broly are both up there with them, and sometimes even portrayed much taller.
Yeah, that means All Might was the tallest at 7’2, only sometimes surpassed by The Hulk – and Zangief just missing the tallest spot at 7’0!
And I say “was” because Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Gohan Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hellboy may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!

Gohan Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
This is where I get to break down the “how” and “why” of the workout we’re going to build based on the characters, in this case Gohan’s, powers and/or abilities.
If you ever visit his Dragon Ball Wiki Fandom page you’ll notice he has what feels like a never ending scroll of a biography.
So for you fans out there who aren’t as obsessed with DBZ as the rest of us, let’s take a second to talk about who Gohan is:
is the elder son of the series’ primary protagonist Goku and his wife Chi-Chi, the older brother of Goten, the husband of Videl and father to Pan. He is named after Goku’s adoptive grandfather, Gohan. Unlike his father, Gohan lacks a passion for fighting and prefers to do so only when the need to defend his loved ones arises. Nevertheless, Gohan fights alongside the Dragon Team in the defense of Earth for much of his life.
It’s also important to note that this makes Gohan a half-saiyan, half-human; which differs to our other favorite characters Goku and Vegeta.
But if you’ve seen his encounters leading up to his teen stages you’ll know that he never let this hold him back.
Some of Gohan’s powers, such as blast power, energy manipulation, heat generation and energy shields are things we’re not going to be able to train for, so I’m going to skip them to shorten the list a bit (if you saw the full list you’d understand).
Here’s what Gohan’s Comic Vine has to tell us about his powers and abilities:
- Super Speed
- Super Strength
- Swordsmanship
- Berserker Strength
- Stamina
- Flight
- Unarmed Combat
- Super Eating
I thought “super eating” was too good to not list.
In most of our favorite combat anime shows we do see our heroes eating a TON of food.
I also included things like berserker strength and flight for specific reasons as well.
Berserker strength is something we’ll be looking to replicate with high intensity training. We’re going to try to replicate Gohan’s intensity level by stepping it up a notch when times get hard and pushing through and dominating our workout.
Flight is something that, while we can’t fully conquer it, we can also train towards. For that reason we’ll be training to train to jump higher and further by adding some extra focus to our legs and explosiveness.
Think you can handle training like a saiyan-hybrid?

The 20-30 minutes of cardio each day is a good add-on to our weight training, but it’s important to realize the endurance these characters truly have when we see them in the show.
If we want to come anywhere even close to that, we need to step it up a notch.
