It’s time for a list of our favorite Avenger’s workouts.
This will NOT be a “Top 10 List”, but rather a list of ALL our Avengers hosted here at SHJ.
That means I’ll be pairing our Avenger celebrity workouts/dietary articles with our Avenger character inspired workouts for this one as well.
That also enables me to give us some bonuses being that their are some I have hit without hitting the other (Ex: only the character, or only the celebrity routine).
Either way we’re taking this list to at least 20 with bonuses!
If you enjoy listicles like this one, we’ve been seeing them more and more at SHJ and you can check out our Workout Listicles category to find more workout lists that are designed to help you sort through our Workout Database.
Our Workout Database has categories that are extremely helpful, but with the most comprehensive workout database on the internet it can be hard to find everyone.
That’s also why you’ll find search bars all over the site :P.
We’ve also devoted some listicles to workout gear as well, but with the popularity of the last handful of workout listicles I figured we should keep it going.
Our most recent listicles revolves around things like:
- 20 Star Wars Celeb + Character WorkoutsÂ
- The Top Superhero, Anime and Video Game Inspired Character Workouts…Ever!
- The Top Diets Used Among Celebrities
- The Top 5 Bird of Prey Workout Routines
- The Top 10 Young Justice Workout Routines
- 50+ CW Network Celebrity Workout Routines
That last one was a big one…
But after seeing a listicle set up with our Birds of Prey it really opened my eyes to the fact that I need to start building more of these listicles for you guys to easily find exactly what you want.
So here we are.
I should mention that there is no specific order to this list. I’m going to be building it based on:
- My own feelings towards the routines effectiveness (sometimes as a pair)
- The popularity of the routine/character
- Whichever Avenger comes into my head first if one of the first two doesn’t help
Let’s start with number one….
Number One: Chris Evans / Captain America
First on the list is Captain America.Â
I specifically chose Captain America’s and Chris Evans’ workout routines for multiple reasons.
Not only are they a great pair together being that one follows a high intensity, almost CrossFit-like routine (Captain America’s) and the other follows a heavy lifting/bulk-up (Chris Evans); but they’re also some of the top routines on the site and have helped many people transform.
And, as a bonus, we even have a Captain America Inspired Circuit Workout + Video Guide you guys can check out as well.
I guess it’s just fitting that he’s also the captain…
If you’re looking to lift heavy and get strong I recommend starting with The Chris Evans Workout, but if you’re looking for high volume, high intensity, and to really train like you have Super-Soldier Serum, then I suggest taking on the Captain America Inspired Workout Routine.
You can find both workouts here:
Chris Evans Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Captain America Workout Routine
Number Two: Scarlett Johansson / Black Widow
Coming in at number two is the one and only Black Widow.
The Scarlett Johansson workout routine and Black Widow workout routine have both proven to be incredible and effective among The SHJ Army.
She is my second choice not only because she’s a badass, but also for a couple other reasons as well.
- The Black Widow and Scarlett Johansson routines share the same difference that make the Captain America and Chris Evans’ routines great as well. One is high intensity high volume (Black Widow) with circuits and the other functions as a more basic [but highly effective] strength and fat loss program (ScarJo).
- Scarlett Johansson, like many of the other celebrities we’ll see in this article recently had her article fully updated, and the coolest part about it is that her workout is the first female workout to get an upgrade into our Exclusive Celebrity Workout Packets within The Academy.
- It’s only fitting that she’s also the first ever female to land on the site.
Plus, it was also kind of perfect that both her pictures included Captain America in them.
I mean, it just felt right…
You can find both workouts here:
Scarlett Johansson Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Three: Chris Hemsworth / Thor
Thor comes in at number three.
And no, this will not be Bro Thor’s routine. He, unfortunately, does not have his own workout at SHJ.
Maybe one day.
Chris Hemsworth however has TWO workout routine versions in his one article, because like many actors (including a handful below) he has adapted the way he trains and his programming called for an update.
So if you head over to the Chris Hemsworth workout you get two workouts for the price of one (free), and we also have TWO Thor workouts if you include our Thor Inspired Circuit + Video Guide.
You may just become worthy of Mjonir after this…
You can find both workouts here:
Chris Hemsworth Workout Routine
Number Four: Sebastian Stan / Winter Soldier
Sebastian Stan’s workout routine also recently got a major makeover.
Not only did it get updated and cleaned up, but I also added an entire version two being that his programming switched up so drastically.
And, it was also right around the time we were catching up to all the heroes that were announced as coming to Disney+, so we also have a Winter Soldier workout as well.
Whether you’re looking to train with some military style training built in or just looking to build that perfect Hollywood Physique, these routines are both amazing choices.
You can find both workouts here:
Sebastian Stan Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Winter Soldier Workout Routine
Number Five: Evangeline Lilly / Wasp
Evangeline Lilly is not only Wasp but she is also Tauriel.
Basically she’s a dang badass.
When I heard she was going to star as Wasp alongside Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man I was stoked.
The Evangeline Lilly workout routine features two variations being that Lilly has different styles of training, and The Wasp workout steps it up a notch and takes on high intensity like we’ve seen with some of the other superhero inspired routines above.
Either way, you’re in for a treat with these two.
You can find both workouts here:
Evangeline Lilly Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Six: Jeremy Renner / Hawkeye-Ronin
We actually don’t have a “Hawkeye” workout routine.
We do have a Kate Bishop “Hawkeye” workout routine, but our Jeremy Renner Hawkeye is actuall a Ronin Workout.
I’m specifically adding it this high on the list because I absolutely LOVE our Ronin workout.
It’s HARD, but incredible.
If you want to train to become a masterless samurai badass like Ronin, that’s the routine for you.
Oh, and Jeremy Renner’s workout is pretty sweet too…
You can find both workouts here:
Jeremy Renner Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Seven: Chadwick Boseman / Black Panther
Chadwick Boseman’s workout made waves when Black Panther released.
The popularity among his and also Michael B. Jordan’s workout routine was (and still is, actually) unreal.
But don’t worry, we’ll be including some of the villains below as well..
And we didn’t stop there; we actually have had a ton of Black Panther inspired workout routines from characters in his world.
Some of which you’ll see shortly.
You can find both workouts here:
Chadwick Boseman Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Eight: Anthony Mackie / Falcon
Falcon is another one of our characters, alongside Winter Soldier, who got his workout fairly recently.
The Falcon workout is a ton of fun and allowed us to explore a new route, whereas the Anthony Mackie workout definitely focuses on bulking up.
Mackie tacked on a ton of mass for Pain and Gain and then kept it for his role as our Falcon in the MCU.
I suggest utilizing Mackie’s if mass gain is your goal, but definitely check out Falcon if you want a routine that’s a bit different than the norm.
You can find both workouts here:
Anthony Mackie Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Nine: Paul Rudd / Ant-Man
Paul Rudd is pretty open about how much he thinks it sucked to get into Ant-Man shape.
He did it, and he maintained it for his role, but he has mentioned that it basically took the fun out of everything.
That being said, he does have TWO versions of his workout routine to choose from, with more information as to what each entails (and where they came from/what he used them for) in the full article.
So, The Paul Rudd Workout and Diet Plan actually has a lot of depth to it, even given the circumstances.
Unfortunately at this very moment we do not have an Ant-Man character workout, but I’m leaving the space open for it for when we do get it.
Which I will make sure is ASAP.
You can find both workouts here:
Paul Rudd Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Ant-Man Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Ten: Paul Bettany / Vision
Vision is right there with Winter Soldier and Falcon
Vision’s workout routine was added to the site recently because he’ll be in the upcoming Disney+ Series alongside Scarlet Witch called WandaVision.
Which, if I do say so myself, looks really cool!
Paul Bettany’s workout routine is also super cool because he initially toned up and trained for his role in Legion!
So either one of these workouts is an amazing choice to get you Superhero fit.
You can find both workouts here:
Paul Bettany Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Eleven: Don Cheadle / War Machine
Don Cheadle’s workout is extremely lax.
If you’re looking for a routine that’s “nothing crazy” that will still work to get you into great shape, this one is a good choice.
Like our Ant-Man and Paul Rudd combo, though, we don’t have a War Machine workout routine just yet.
I blame the fact that our War Machine solo movie got cancelled.
I’ll still be adding it to the list below for when it does show up on the site!
You can find both workouts here:
Don Cheadle Workout Routine and Diet Plan
War Machine Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Twelve: Mark Ruffalo / The Hulk
Okay, okay. I can explain
We actually don’t have a Mark Ruffalo workout routine and diet plan on SHJ…yet!
I swear I will make this a priority.
It’s really the only reason this wasn’t much higher on the list.
But you know what? People tend to enjoy the physique of the big green guy more than Ruffalo’s…
And we’ve seen PLENTY of Hulk variations, even adding the villainous Red Hulk to the list this week as well being that he’s going to show up in the She-Hulk Disney+ Series!
But, no excuses. I apologize to Mr. Ruffalo.
You can find both workouts here:
Mark Ruffalo Workout Routine and Diet Plan [Coming Soon]
Number Thirteen: Danai Gurira / Okoye
Remember when I was talking about badass women?
Well, phone it in, because we have another one of the most badass ladies on SHJ.
Danai Gurira’s workout routine was added around the time Black Panther came out and everyone was going NUTS for every routine that had to do with the movie.
Like I said, there were a good handful added, including those we’ve seen already, Gurira, Lupita N’yongo, and Winston Duke (who, ironically enough, also starred together in “Us”).
And I was originally going to do an “honorable mentions” section at the end where I rattle off all these other celebrities and characters but then I realized we have SO many, and I want to be able to save them all for their own lists.
You can find both workouts here:
Danai Gurira Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Okoye Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Fourteen: Benedict Cumberbatch / Doctor Strange
It’s hard to train like a character who has magic…
Thankfully Benedict Cumberbatch actually had to embody him, so his workout routine is one we can replicate.
Doctor Strange as a character on the other hand, we’ll have to perhaps add him to the Cosplay Workouts and Guides!
It still won’t be doing him justice, but it sure as hell is better than not hosting a routine for him.
You can find both workouts here:
Benedict Cumberbatch Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Doctor Strange Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Fifteen: Robert Downey Jr. / Iron Man
Iron Man falls into the same boat as Doctor Strange.
I can’t program a routine that will replicate the ease of badassary involved in putting on the suit.
BUT, I can sure as hell try.
After all, if you don’t make the suit well enough it won’t hide the fact that you haven’t been getting your superhero training in….
That all being said, Robert Downey Jr.’s workout routine is actually pretty awesome.
Who would have though he had such a sick six pack under all that gear?
You can find both workouts here:
Robert Downey Jr. Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Iron Man Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Sixteen: Letitia Wright / Shuri
It makes sense to follow up Iron Man with the female Iron Man, right?
I shouldn’t even point out, being that it’s obvious enough, that Shuri falls into that same Iron Man / Doctor Strange dilemma.
BUT, Letitia Wright’s article is an awesome one; and in my opinion a must read.
She has a different view of things which makes it a nice twist outside the normal routines we may be used to seeing among superheroes.
You can find both workouts here:
Letitia Wright Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Shuri Workout Routine [Coming Soon]
Number Seventeen: Samuel L. Jackson / Nick Fury
Don’t worry. We’re back to our routines that have BOTH celebrity and character variations.
Starting with the legend himself.
Samuel L. Jackson is 70 years old and still training like a champ.
And Nick Fury’s workout is obviously a step up into awesomeness; because you’re training like the best.
Not to mention the fact that I had to step it up a notch for that routine considering I call myself The Nick Fury of SHJ…
You can find both workouts here:
Samuel L. Jackson Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Eighteen: Cobie Smulders / Maria Hill
Maria Hill’s workout is almost as awesome as Nick Fury’s because they came during the same week’s theme.
And, I’m not sure if you noticed or not, but Cobie Smulders is a total babe.
Which means our Cobie Smulders workout and diet plan emulates the training that will make YOU a babe.
If you’re looking for a military twist to a workout, either Maria Hill’s or Fury’s is a good route to take among characters; although we do also have a Military Themed category as well.
You can find both workouts here:
Cobie Smulders Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Nineteen: Tom Hiddleston / Loki
The next two are a bit of a twist: starting with Loki.
How could we not include Tom Hiddleston on the list?
I actually used a list from Marvel’s HQ website, which is why the list didn’t include our honorable mentions (see below), but I decided we needed to format it this way by adding in villains and then saving the others as “honorable mentions”.
Loki, like Winter Soldier, Falcon and Vision, is another one that is coming to Disney+.
We had Tom Hiddleston’s workout much easier, but the Loki workout was a lot of fun to create for us.
He is a god after all…
You can find both workouts here:
Tom Hiddleston Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Number Twenty: Josh Brolin / Thanos
This one was an absolute must.
EVERYONE wants to be as strong as Thanos.
You know, without the villainous portion.
Plus, it helps that Josh Brolin got hella-jacked to become Cable; so his workout routine is an awesome addition to this list as well.
If only there was a way for me to somehow fit that awesome red guy that Josh Brolin played alongside….
You can find both workouts here:
Josh Brolin Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Honorable Mentions
Honorable Mention One: Elizabeth Olsen / Scarlet Witch
Alright, if you looked at that list I linked to earlier, you’ll notice that the next two are not on it.
But there was no way I wasn’t including them on this list, so I saved them for honorable mentions that happen to be freakin’ awesome.
The two of them would have actually landed quite high on the list, but I like adding bonuses like this to really twist things up….
And, I know you’re tired of hearing it, but Scarlet Witch will be coming to Disney+ in WandaVision, so her workout is fairly new as well.
She actually was one of our very first Cosplay Workouts!
You can find both workouts here:
Elizabeth Olsen Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Scarlet Witch Cosplay Workout & Guide
Honorable Mention Two: Tom Holland / Spider-Man
I’m not saying we saved the best for last, but….
No, but seriously, we had a TON of awesome routines above, so Tom Holland and his Spider-Man workout counterpart wouldn’t have easily landed in the top slot, but they are some of the most popular routines on the entire site.
We actually also have our Spider-Man Inspired Circuit Workout + Video Guide as well, being that so many members of The SHJ Army are loving Spidey.
I’m pretty sure since the Tom Holland Workout and Spider-Man Workout hit the site they have both been the viewed workout on YouTube as well.
And for good reason…
You can find both workouts here:
Tom Holland Workout Routine and Diet Plan
And that’s a wrap…
Of course we’ve had SO many other characters that can be included into this from all our Avengers solo movies, and our Guardians and tons and tons of MCU characters, but those are all going to have to wait for another time.
Which one on the list is your favorite?
Mike Romaine
