The next character joining our Sword Art Online Inspired Workouts technically isn’t directly from SAO, but is from the universe.
Sinon landed on our list of most popular Sword Art Online characters, even though she does happen to be [mainly] from Gun Gale Online.
That said, she also was a top request among cosplay oriented workouts in the last couple of months.
We’ve actually been seeing more SAO characters join our databases, but that’s typical of The SHJ Army once I start a bit of a trend, which I happened to do with Iskahn and Klein!
We don’t have a quiz for them yet, but at the rate they’re going our SAO characters will have their own outside of our regular Anime Workout Placement Quizzes.

Sinon is quite short, but we’ve been seeing a lot of shorter female anime characters recently.
Although I would consider her to still be in the shortest category among all characters.
Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8 and Sailor Moon at 4’11! Katana is just behind her at 5’2.
We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique, Miss Martian, and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.
But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.
And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!
But don’t worry, either way.
Not only are these routines for all shapes and sizes – they also work for both men and women – regardless of the gender of the hero.

Sinon Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Sinon Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Sinon and how we’ll be building this workout I’ll be pulling right from her Wiki Fandom page, starting with this bio section:
Asada Shino, known as Sinon in «Gun Gale Online» (GGO), ALfheim Online (ALO), as well as «Project Alicization», where she had temporarily used the Solus account, is the deuteragonist of the Phantom Bullet Arc and one of the main characters in the War of the Underworld sub-arc of the Alicization Arc. She is a skilled Virtual Reality game player, who began playing Gun Gale Online based on the suggestion from her friend, Shinkawa Kyouji, in an attempt to overcome her trauma concerning guns. After the events of the Phantom Bullet Arc, she began playing «ALfheim Online» as a Cait Sith archer, capable of hitting targets two hundred meters away with a bow that should only be able to shoot arrows accurately at a maximum distance of one hundred meters.
We do know that Asada Shino has her real life appearance and then her avatars as well, and in this case we’ll be building out the routine around cosplaying her avatars.
Here’s how they break down her real world aesthetic:
Similar to both of her VRMMO game avatars, Shino has thin hair tied in small ribbons by the sides of her face, with the back cut short. Unlike her avatars, Shino has dark hair in real life. She also wears a pair of half-rimmed glasses with oval-shaped lenses. Her skin is pale and she has black eyes.[citation needed] She has a black spot on her right hand, left there by gunpowder from the time she fired a gun in real life.
They then move into talking about her Gun Gal Online appearance as follows:
Shino’s avatar has thin, pale blue swaying hair that was casually short, but there was a tuft of hair tied up on both sides of her forehead, and indigo colored eyes. Her combat attire consists of a desert-colored military jacket, bulletproof armor of the same color, and combat boots, as well as a white muffler around her neck.
And being that we’ve already broke these two down we may as well wrap it up with what they tell us about her ALfheim Online and Project Alicization appearances:
ALO: Shino’s avatar maintains her blue hair from GGO, yet holds the appearance of a Cait Sith, her chosen race, with blue ears and a matching tail. She wears a green coat with white chest armor, a black choker and a belted quiver across her shoulders.
PA: Shino’s avatar as Sun Goddess Solus has water-colored hair and blue eyes. She wears ornate azure armor and a long white skirt.
Which brings us to the what we’re actually going to be training to accomplish.
The main goals for our Sinon Inspired Workout are:

- Sinon’s In-Game Abilities
- Sinon’s Lean. Slim and Toned Muscles
Fairly simple goals for this one, and this will allow us to build a fun bodyweight workout to add to our calisthenics workouts.
It should be very beginner friendly, but don’t be afraid to scale down or even start with our Beginner Ninja Workout.

For this one we’re going be training with three days of calisthenics and then one day of endurance and a final day that will be a Gun Gale Circuit Test which you can complete weekly, biweekly or monthly as you see fit.

For your endurance, HIIT or MMA/Parkour days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
Option One – Run Based on Overall Fitness Level:
Beginner: 1-3 Miles
Intermediate: 3-5 Miles
Advanced: 5+ Miles
