The next character joining our Assassination Classroom Inspired Workouts is Kaede Kayano.
Previously known as Akari Yukimura, Kaede is the next awesome character well-deserving of joining the ranks at SHJ.
She’s going to be our second female character with Irina Jelavic, which also makes this one that much more fun; and I’m going to try to get another female in there as we approach our tenth workout and soon to be our Unofficial Workout Booklet as well.
For this one we’ll be using calisthenics training to get the Kaede Kayano slim and toned physique, but also the nimble assassin-like abilities we’ll be going over below as well.
Kaede Kayano Stats:
Real Name: Kaede Kayano
Height: 5’2 (7 years after graduating)
Weight: 86 lbs. (90-110 lbs. guesstimate 7 years later)
Anime: Assassination Classroom
Powers: No
Kaede Kayano is super short and petite, and comes in as one of the shortest we’ve seen at SHJ.
Basically the exact opposite of behemoths inside our Anime Workouts Database.
Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8 and Sailor Moon at 4’11! Katana is just behind her at 5’2.
We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique, Miss Martian, and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.
But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.
And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!
But don’t worry, either way.
Not only are these routines for all shapes and sizes – they also work for both men and women – regardless of the gender of the hero.

Kaede Kayano Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Kaede Kayano Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Kaede Kayano I’ll be pulling right from here Wiki Fandom page starting with this:
Kaede Kayano, known previously as Akari Yukimura is a student in Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, taught by Korosensei. She is one of Nagisa Shiota’s best friends.
This doesn’t tell us much about what we’ll be using to build out a routine, but we do already know she’s extremely slim and toned, and that will be a main factor.
From there we can also jump to her abilities section, which shares a TON of information.
They start with a bunch of abilities that don’t necessarily help us with the routine but are helpful to build out Kaede’s background:
Perseverance: By far her greatest talent, as she was able to withstand the hellish pain from the tentacles, without any kind of treatment, for over a year. The average person wouldn’t be able to function normally and would expire out of pure pain in three days without help. In spite of that, she keeps a completely normal front and can go through her entire school year without showing any kind of discomfort.
Intelligence: Kayano has a very high level of intelligence, as she was noted for being the first one to pass the Kunugigaoka transfer student exam on her first try, and even could implant the tentacle cells into herself to control them in a very short time. Unlike Itona, and despite not receiving any kind of treatment, her intellect isn’t impaired in the slightest by the tentacles. Perhaps her true level of intelligence was first hinted at during her first attempt to kill Korosensei, devising a plan based on her love of pudding, and although the plan failed, the simplicity and how well thought out the plan was immensely impressed her classmates. In the environment of Class 3-E, Kayano has great logistical skills to support the planning of assassinations.
Acting: As a professional and prodigal actress, Kayano is renowned for her skill to play any type of role flawlessly due to her remarkable adaption skills and empathy. Because of this, she was able to fool Class E’s students and staff during the school year, and after graduation, she started to professionally act again in her way. All of them believed the fake identity she created. However, her acting abilities become unaffected or dulled to Karma, Nakamura, and Nagisa after her failed assassination attempt on Korosensei in the field.
The description of her perseverance should tell you a lot.
We’re not dealing with your average assassin-in-training. We’re working with a strong character.
Next up in her abilities section are a few that will actually be helpful for our training:
Assassination: Although hidden during most of the manga, Kayano clearly excels in the skills required for a talented assassin, being able to blend into the background very easily, keeping her true objectives and intentions hidden from friends and foes alike, regardless of their skill at discernment, and being able to strike without being noticed. Shiro states that, out of all of the Class E students, she is the most qualified one to be an assassin. However, Kayano herself states that Nagisa was the best assassin in the classroom after she was defeated by him through a French kiss.
Mobility: For most of the series, Kayano was shown to be among the least physically capable of the girls, though this was due to the intensity of the tentacles secretly implanted in her body. Unlike Itona, the tentacles did give her the ability to move and strike extremely fast. Once the tentacles were removed and no longer subduing the accompanying pain, Kayano was able to focus and move quickly to different spots, thanks to the physical training she had done as an actress before she injected the tentacle seed into her, to the point that her speed allowed her to easily kept track of Okano’s movements and match them despite having to keep this a secret for most of the year.
So we are actually dealing with “the least physically capable of the girls”, but she also went through physical training and with the tentacle implants gained a ton of agility.
That means we’re going to be using calisthenics but taking it up a notch and instead of being at a beginner level (which is where we would have been prior to Kaede’s training and tentacle implants) we’ll be at more of an intermediate level.
That said, you can scale the intensity down a bit and bring it right back down to a beginner level if you’d like.

Kaede Kayano Workout: Assassin Endurance Training
For your endurance, HIIT or MMA/Parkour days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
