We can’t go too long without adding to our Naruto Inspired Workouts.
A lot of The SHJ Army has been making it pretty clear that they want more female workouts added as well – which is why we even just got a second variation of our Tsunade training (which means we have a weight training version and a calisthenics version).
But now it’s time to finally get Mei Terumi!
She didn’t quite make it onto our list of the most popular or most powerful, but she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with.
She’ll also make a fun character to add to our calisthenics workouts and even Naruto Workout Placement Quiz given the nature of her abilities and what we’ll be training around.

Real Name: Mei Terumi
Height: 5’7
Weight: 117 lbs.
Anime: Naruto
Powers: Yes
Mei would technically be considered just ever so slightly above average height if compared to celebrity females we’ve seen at SHJ.
But, when compared to female anime character she comes in right around average, only below some of the behemoths in our Anime Workouts Database.
Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8 and Sailor Moon at 4’11! Katana is just behind her at 5’2.
We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique, Miss Martian, and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.
But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.
And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!
But don’t worry, either way.
Not only are these routines for all shapes and sizes – they also work for both men and women – regardless of the gender of the hero.

Mei Terumi Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Mei Terumi Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Mei Terumi I’ll be pulling right from her Wiki Fandom page, starting with what they give us for a brief bio section here:
Mei Terumī is the Fifth Mizukage of Kirigakure. After the dreadful reign of Yagura Karatachi ended, she became Mizukage and worked tirelessly to reform internal policies and recreate diplomatic relations with other villages.
We’ll skip over her appearance section, even though it will be a main point of what we’re building this routine around, being that they really only tell us about her hair and style choices outside of saying she has a “slender” physique.
From there we’ll skip right down into her powers and abilities, which they start by telling us about her overall abilities:
Mei is a powerful kunoichi whose abilities earned her the title of Fifth Mizukage. She is calm, observant and perceptive and can pick up on slight discrepancies in another person’s personality, as seen when she detected the difference in Ao’s behaviour when Fū Yamanaka inhabited his body. Her power was enough to force Sasuke Uchiha into a corner and injure him despite his usage of Susanoo. She has also shown some skill in taijutsu, being able to intercept Black Zetsu from attacking the daimyō with a single kick during the Fourth Shinobi World War.
This tells us how powerful Mei is, but it also shows us why one of the priorities is going to be her overall physique and ninja-abilities over some of the things we prioritized for other characters (like mass and strength).
Just to give some more background, I’ll also include what they give us for her Ninjutsu:
Mei is proficient in the nature transformations of Water, Fire, Earth, and Lightning Release. With Water Release, she can create a large torrent that can extinguish a powerful Fire Release technique used by Madara Uchiha, and quickly use the same water to form a giant dragon. Mei can also use the Hiding in Mist Technique to obscure the movements of herself and her allies. Two years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, her mastery of Water Release enabled her to successfully protect her village from the massive meteorites that had broken off from the falling Moon.
Mei also possesses two elemental kekkei genkai, the first of which is Lava Release. By combining the earth and fire natures, she can spit out acidic mud that can melt almost anything in its path. The great amount of steam generated after the fluid strikes can serve as an effective smokescreen, allowing for a follow up attack while the enemy is distracted. A significant amount of exposure was enough to partially melt Madara’s Susanoo ribcage. The second kekkei genkai, Boil Release, allows her to simultaneously use water and fire natures to release a corrosive mist that can melt almost anything it touches. It even managed to burn through Sasuke’s Susanoo ribcage. She also has the ability to alter the potency and acidity of the mist created by her Boil Release techniques, and is apparently not affected by the mist herself.
We won’t be able to build this routine out around any of that, unfortunately.
So the priorities for this one will be:
- Mei’s Overall Slim and Toned Physique/Aesthetic
- Mei’s Ninja Abilities and Training
We’ll be using calisthenics and endurance work to get a slim and toned physique for this one while also getting ninja-like body control.

Training Volume:
3-5 days per week
Explanation:
We’re going to be some calisthenics training and endurance work 3 days a week and then we’ll also have one day devoted to Ninja Endurance and a final Mizukage Circuit Test which you can complete either weekly, biweekly or monthly as you wish (and on the weeks you don’t you can add on extra endurance work).

Mei Terumi Workout Routine: Ninja Endurance Work
For your endurance, HIIT or MMA/Parkour days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
Option One – Run Based on Overall Fitness Level:
Beginner: 1-3 Miles
Intermediate: 3-5 Miles
Advanced: 5+ Miles
