It’s been a long time since we got to see some Cowboy Bebop love here at SHJ.
We have had our Spike Spiegel Inspired Workout, but now that our live action Cowboy Bebop is more of a reality than ever before the requests for our favorite characters like Faye Valentine and Jet Black are coming in like crazy!
And, of course I want to make sure our Anime Workouts Database gets both of them as soon as possible for everyone finding Cowboy Bebop and ready to unleash their inner superhuman as well.
We don’t have a Cowboy Bepop Workout Placement Quiz on the way considering we will likely only have a small handful of characters, but we do have a dozen other Workout Placement Quizzes based around your favorite anime, celebrities and more if you want help finding the best routine for YOU (other than this one, of course).

Faye Valentine comes in around around height compared to most female characters and even celebrities we’ve seen at SHJ.
Which is usually between the range of 5’4 and 5’7!
Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8 and Sailor Moon at 4’11! Katana is just behind her at 5’2.
We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique, Miss Martian, and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.
But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.
And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!
But don’t worry, either way.

Faye Valentine Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Faye Valentine Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
The best way for us to get started and learn more about Faye Valentine to build out this workout is to pull right from her Wiki Fandom page.
Here’s how they get us started with a fairly long bio:
Faye Valentine is a wanted bounty head and a member of the bounty hunting crew aboard the Bebop.
Although appearing to be no more than 23 years old, Faye is actually around 77 years old, having been put into cryogenic freeze after a space shuttle accident, wherein she spent fifty-four years in suspended animation.
During her adventures on the Bebop, Faye crosses paths with Spike and Jet twice and makes herself at home aboard their ship the second time around, much to the consternation and disapproval of the two men, both of whom have their own reservations about women in general.
Now Faye Valentine is actually a bit different than most of the other anime characters we’ve seen at SHJ.
We HAVE seen a good handful we’ve needed to work around in the form of a cosplay routine – and Faye is going to join in there as well considering she doesn’t necessarily have a long list of powers and/or abilities we can go through.
Her hero fandom does actually have an “abilities section” that I will share, but outside that we’ll be working around some aesthetic and physical appearance descriptions.
Here’s how her hero fandom breaks down her abilities:
Seemingly little more than a thorn in her partners’ sides, Faye is actually a well-rounded member of the team. She can handle herself exceptionally well for a woman of her slight appearance, displaying at least once in the series (in “Cowboy Funk”) that she has a powerful punch. Adept at flying, Faye has stood her ground just as well as Spike has in an aerial dogfight in her ship Red Tail, and at times even against Spike in an aerial dogfight (though Spike eventually proved the better pilot). She also excels with guns, and is first seen in the series completely disabling a shop with a Heckler & Koch MP5K, though she is immediately apprehended afterward. In the movie, she is seen with the same gun, in addition to her normal companion: a Glock 30.
And when they talk about her appearance they write:
She is often seen with a cigarette and in a revealing outfit complete with bright yellow hot pants and a matching, revealing top (and, on occasion, a bikini). She sports violet hair, green eyes, and a voluptuous body. Unsurprisingly, many of the men she encounters consider her attractive.
Although I’m sure we didn’t necessarily NEED to share this part to know what we’re working around.
For Faye’s routine I’m going to be building it around bodyweight training and some cardiovascular work to get her slim and toned physique while still working in those curves that we know anime females love to have as well.
That means we’ll be taking a scaled down approach from our Assassin Calisthenics 90 Day System techniques, which has even been used to train new U.S. Marines (hence the scaling), and building around some of that.
Either way, don’t be afraid to scale up or down in the direction you need to!

We’ll be utilizing 3 days a week of calisthenics training with short varied cardio or sprints (if you really want to step it up) and then another 2 days devoted to endurance work or HIIT (which can be subbed for active rest)!
