After featuring Luther and then Hazal & Cha-Cha, I felt it was only right if we get a Diego Hargreeves Workout Routine as well.
Especially after seeing just ten minutes into Season Two!
Now we’ve had Tom Hopper’s Workout (Luther), a Tom Hopper Home Circuit, Luther’s Workout (AKA Spaceboy), Hazal & Cha Cha’s Workout, and finally made it to Diego, AKA The Kraken!
We’ll take about some slight character/power variation from the comics to the show, and I’ll even be adding in some variation to make up for it, but other than that we’re shooting for pure badassery.
We’re talkin’ spinning, parkour, calisthenics type agility training!
Diego Hargreeves Stats:
Height: 5’10 (actor portrayal)
Weight: 160 lbs. (actor portrayal)
Real Name: Diego Hargreeves (Kraken)
Powers: Yes
I couldn’t find out Kraken’s height and weight, so I decided to sub in David Castaneda’s height and weight rather than leaving a boring “NA” in the spot.
Although I, purely guessing of course, do think The Kraken seems taller in the comics.
Vegeta were tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Diego Hargreeves Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Diego Hargreeves Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
There are a couple changes from Diego’s portrayal in the comics to our Netflix variation.
To start I want to give you some background of The Kraken from his Wiki Fandom, and then I’ll share some of the changes (although I’m sure one or two may stand out).
Here’s a brief background from Diego’s Wiki Fandom:
The Kraken (00.02 Diego Hargreeves) is the reckless and rebellious member of the group; described by The Monocle as “an insolent brat.” He has the ability to hold his breath indefinitely and has demonstrated a strong affinity for knife-throwing. He and Luther have a very clear rivalry, and Diego seems unwilling to take orders from Luther. He is more of a Batman-like superhero in that he goes on regular patrols and can be seen taking down drug dealers. In his teenage years, he was the bass player in a band called the Prime-8s, with Body (Inspector Lupo’s assistant), and Vanya Hargreeves. He is also seen to be left handed in the short story “Anywhere But Here,” as he is playing the bass left handed. It appears that he harbors a secret soft spot for his adopted sister, Vanya. It is yet to be seen how The Kraken lost his right eye and wears an eye-patch when not wearing his mask, which has it blacked out.
And Nerdist comes in to give us a hand with the differences between the two portrayals, stating:
In the comics, Diego’s main power is that he can hold his breath for a long time underwater. His character is toxically masculine: he treats Vanya cruelly despite being in love with her, and at Hargreeves’ funeral he tears off Grace’s clothes to reveal their father “left them with a piece of plastic for a mother.” Detective Patch doesn’t exist to positively influence him; instead it’s Inspector Lupo, a cranky old man who Diego is most definitely not in love with.
In the show, Diego’s love for the women in his life is more crucial to his character. His tough guy act from the comics is complicated when it’s revealed he also struggles with a stutter and a fear of needles.
Which means I’ll still add in some training that will live up to “The Kraken” and his water breathing, but for the most part we’ll be revolving this one around the Diego Hargreeves we know from our Netflix Series.
For that, another Wiki Fandom from The Netflix Series character portrayal lists his powers as such:
Trajectory Curving: Diego has the ability to curve the direction of anything he throws, usually one or both of his dual throwing knives, although he has demonstrated that he can use his power on other objects as well.
Peak Physical Condition: Diego treats his body like a temple, meaning he exercises regularly and does not put any harmful substances into his body.
Combat: Diego has demonstrated great skill in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat. He also excels in the use of handheld and throwing knives during combat situations.
I won’t be helping you master the art of becoming Bullseye, but I will be building this routine to hit all our other markers: peak conditioning, mixed martial arts, and even swimming.
Think you can handle it?
