We’re prioritizing two more Avatar: The Last Airbender inspired workouts this week for a good reason!
With two more ATLA inspired routines we’ll be able to warrant a new mini-database to host them all like we’ve done for some other shows/worlds (two new anime most recently).
We started with our Dragonball Z Workout Database and then recently we even got our My Hero Academia Workout Database and Naruto Workout Database added as well.
Which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the popularity we’ve had around anime lately.
Our Anime Workouts Database has been nuts and it doesn’t look like there’s any sign of it showing down, but The SHJ Army has made it clear they’re also in love with Avatar, so don’t worry about that either!
Sokka Stats:
Real Name: Sokka
Height: N/A (Approximate Fan Guess: 4’11)
Weight: N/A (Guesstimate: 120 lbs.)
Anime: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Powers: No
There aren’t any heights listed on Wikis or other sources, but I used the same reference we’ve used in the past for other characters.
That being said, it’s important to keep in mind that Sokka is only 15-18 years old through the periods we’re referencing.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Sokka Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Sokka Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To start us off I want to immediately pull from Sokka’s Wiki Fandom page which actually has an extremely large bio compared to what we’re used to.
Here’s how they kick that off (although I’ll be cutting some and coming back to it):
Sokka was a Water Tribe warrior of the Southern Water Tribe and the son of Chief Hakoda and Kya. Following the death of his mother and his father’s departure for war, Sokka was raised by his grandmother Kanna along with his younger sister Katara.
Hakoda left along with all of the other men in his tribe to fight the Fire Nation when Sokka was a young boy. Despite his desire to join his father, Sokka was not permitted to accompany the men on the mission and was left behind. As there were no other teenage boys in the tribe, Sokka was the oldest male in the South Pole and, therefore, left as the leader of the tribe. He assumed responsibility for the tribe, haplessly training children to be future warriors until his sister discovered an Air Nomad named Aang frozen in an iceberg. When he learned that Aang was the Avatar, he was at first skeptical that a child could really save the world. As he and his sister helped Aang on his quest, he began to believe that Aang really was the only hope for peace in the world.
They continue his bio by telling us a lot of why I chose him to help fill out the Avatar inspired workouts on the site.
Obviously they already talk about him training future warriors, but here’s a bit more to build on for us:
Despite his inability to bend, Sokka became the strategist of the group, constantly trying to prove himself to be a great warrior like his father. He attempted to train the younger children of the Southern Water Tribe in fighting. Sokka was also the “matter of fact” guy in the group and did not believe in spirit magic, as he openly mocked it. His leadership skills improved during his travels with the Avatar, culminating with his masterminding the plan for the invasion of the Fire Nation on the Day of Black Sun. His humor and his ability to organize and plan became imperative to the group on their travels. By the conclusion of the Hundred Year War, Sokka became a master swordsman and a great warrior like his father. After Aang and Zuko formed the United Republic of Nations, Sokka became the representative for the Southern Water Tribe on the United Republic Council, as well as its chairman.
Sokka is a warrior that never gives up and a great leader.
Some of his abilities and skills include:
- Science and Engineering
- Strategy and Tactics
- Leadership
- Swordsmanship
- Hand to Hand Combat
For this one we’ll be looking to build on the fact that Sokka is a warrior, but we’ll also be taking his rather lean and warrior-like physique into play as well.
We’ll again be building our two Avatar workouts around calisthenics training, which I believe not only fits Sokka as a characters but also the range of The SHJ Army members who are looking to train like him and embody his style.
