First we saw our gigantic Stone Hashira and now we’re back for a monstrous Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui.
While both Tengen and Gyomei are extremely powerful and gigantic characters, we will be training around them in different ways.
We recently had a few lists talking about The Most Powerful Demon Slayer Characters of All Time and even The Most Powerful Demons in Demon Slayer, and while Tengen obviously couldn’t make the demon list, he did make it among the most powerful of all time.
That, and the fact that you guys are LOVING Demon Slayer warranted bringing in another set of characters and keeping roll going for another couple weeks.
Our Demon Slayer Inspired Workout Database and our Anime Workouts Database are flooding with them now, but there’s no reason to stop if you guys are utilizing them the way you seem to be.
We can add our Sound Hashira into our Demon Slayer Workout Placement Quiz as well!
Tengen Uzui Stats:
Real Name: Tengen Uzui
Height: 6’6
Weight: 209 lbs.
Anime: Demon Slayer
Powers: Yes
Tengen Uzui is huge, just under Gyomei, and above average among male anime characters we’ve seen.
He’s actually even bigger than a lot of the superhero “bigger” guys we’ve seen, but just below behemoths like All Might and Endeavor that stack up with Ronan and Sagat.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Tengen Uzui Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Tengen Uzui Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To start us off, even though it is quite vague, we’ll be pulling right from Tengen Uzui’s Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section:
Tengen Uzui is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and a major character in the Entertainment District Arc. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps, and the Sound Hashira.
Thankfully his powers and abilities section gives us A LOT more information – to the point where it is even too much – because the Demon Slayer Wiki bios always tend to be on the shorter side.
Although it does tell us what we already know about Tengen being the Sound Hashira, which obviously makes him extremely strong.
Moving into his powers and abilities section they begin telling us about his overall power level which gives us a bunch of information to work with:
Overall Abilities: As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen is a very powerful swordsman. He has displayed numerous abilities that allow him to easily overpower Demons in a fight and even allow him to battle on par against the Upper Rank of the Twelve Kizuki. During his fight against Gyutaro, he was able to fight evenly with the Upper Rank 6 while protecting others at the same time, a feat made all the more impressive by the fact that he also had to fight off Daki as well during one point in the fight. As the Sound Hashira, Tengen utilizes a sound-based combat style.
Like our other Demon Slayers, and especially our hashira, we knew Tengan would be an incredible swordsman.
On top of that they go into some extra detail about each individual ability that come with his training and being a Demon Slayer:
Immense Speed & Reflexes: Tengen possesses great speed, as stated by Inosuke Hashibira. He is able to cut off Daki’s head twice before she can even register his movements, move faster than an asleep Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira and Tanjiro Kamado can see. Despite being severely poisoned, he still was able to keep up with the immense movements speeds of Gyutaro and Daki.
Immense Stamina & Endurance: Due to his upbringing being raised to become a ninja and his own father’s increased attempts to revive their clan by forcing Tengen and his siblings to train even more harshly and painfully then necessary, Tengen developed powerful resistance to pain, as seen where he bared little to no reaction at having being caught up in a hail of Kunai knives and being pierced by them without even flinching or showing any form of discomfort or pain, continuing his battle against Gyutaro with full concentration. Later Tengen was also noted to have suffered other severe/painful injuries during this battle and managed to acclimate/ignore the pain of such injuries as well.
Immense Strength: Tengen possesses great physical strength as he can hold both his enormous cleavers at their tip and with only two fingers, as well as being able to match Gyutaro in strength with only one hand after his left hand was cut off. In an arm-wrestling contest between Hashira, Tengen is ranked second, with only Gyomei surpassing him.
So while he may not be as strong as Gyomei, he is still extremely powerful, which is why he made our list of The Most Powerful Demon Slayer Characters.
The difference in their overall strength will be what allows us to change up the training style and focus a bit.
So while we will still be training for strength and some size – as Tengen is obviously muscular – we will also be doing it with a different split to allow for a bit more endurance and shredding to take place at the same time with some circuit training in there.
Think you can handle it?

Tengan Uzui Workout Routine
Training Volume:
3-5+ days per week
Explanation:
While we used 4 days of dedicated strength training for Gyomei and then fit in endurance work and circuits within, for Tengen we will use a 3 day split and then use circuits with more weight and core training to build up on the endurance while adding intensity work and additional strength 2 additional days per week. They CAN be taken out if needed, but I recommend running this one 5 days per week.
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
