Next up to join our Kengan Ashura Inspired Workouts is Kaneda Suekichi.
There are characters that are definitely more jacked than Kaneda, but he is one of the most popular Kengan characters, and for good reason (which will discuss more about below).
We have seen some massive characters come in from Kengan, which are among some of our behemoths within The Anime Workouts Database, but Kaneda will be a fun addition to be able to add another calisthenics workout into the mini database.
I won’t be able to build a routine around Kaneda’s will and cunning insight, but hopefully having the routine built around his physique and abilities will be enough to light a fire under us and motivate us even a percentage as much as he is.
And until we get our Kengan Quiz, Kaneda will be building up our Anime Workout Placement Quizzes.
Kaneda Suekichi Stats:
Real Name: Kaneda Suekichi
Height: 5’7
Weight: 161 lbs.
Anime: Kengan Ashura
Powers: No
Kaneda is below average height if compared to celebs and characters we’ve seen at SHJ.
But, he’s actually around average height if we compare him directly to male anime characters we’ve seen.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Kaneda Suekichi Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Kaneda Suekichi Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Kaneda to not only build out this workout, but also discuss the things that make Kaneda such an awesome and popular character, I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with a brief bio section:
Kaneda Suekichi, also known as The Giant Killer, is an affiliated fighter within the Kengan matches. He represented Ginokuniya Bookstore during the Kengan Annihilation Tournament after stealing the affiliated fighter’s spot from Himuro Ryo.
I mean…who wouldn’t want to be known as The Giant Killer?
From there we can go on to discuss how unimpressive Kaneda is when it comes to his physical abilities, which makes his overall power level even that much more impressive:
Despite appearing to have little to no experience in martial arts, Suekichi has shown himself to be a capable combatant by utilizing the Kujin Style and his foresight to his advantage. Physically, Suekichi is completely average: in school, he was a terrible athlete, always coming last in strength tests and marathon runs and, while training himself, it took three years for him to be able to bench 80kg. Despite this, Suekichi has proven to be resilient enough to continue fighting without issue. He has taken several direct blows to the face, had his ribs cracked, struck in the chest so hard he vomited and after took harrowing blows from a fighter of Kaolan Wongsawat’s level, yet still held his ground from receiving such damage. Still, even with his incredible mental fortitude, Suekichi’s relative physical frailty is a severe limiting factor, and he would not be competitive as a fighter without his Foresight.
Suekichi trained A LOT, at an extremely high volume, and we’re going to be doing the same.
But, before I go into detail about the specific goals of this routine, let’s talk about what makes Suekichi so powerful:
Foresight is Suekichi’s ability to use his superhuman analytical prowess to study his opponent’s movements in real-time. Suekichi can gradually begin to predict his opponent’s moves with sublime accuracy to the point where he is then able to exploit them using this knowledge. Suekichi was also able to correctly identify that Himuro was a Jeet Kune Do practitioner, having initially believed him to be a southpaw, after noticing Himuro’s centre of gravity. When he fought Kaolan, his strategy caused him to view the match as a “shogi composition”. However, the drawback to his Foresight is that it takes time for him to begin to understand and predict his opponent; he must withstand blows or barely dodge blows to begin to understand and predict, making his fighting style unfit for the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, since there are too many heavy hitters within the Tournament. Other than fighting, Suekichi can also achieve expert-levels in anything he can analyze: when he was in high school, three of his school’s experts in boxing, soccer and baseball lost to him.
This is what I mentioned NOT being able to train around, but it’s still something we need to be able to have the awareness of.
Your training will likely take you to a whole new level if you train anywhere near as much as Suekichi did, but Suekichi’s overall background and abilities are important to why he is such a popular character, and how me managed to be one of the most requested among Kengan Ashura characters.
Here’s what we’re going to be training around for this one:
- Suekichi’s Lean and Toned Physique
- Suekichi’s Insane Training Volume
- Suekichi’s Body Control and Endurance
So be ready for extremely high volume training – or be ready to have to scale down.
