Back to back Lookism characters.
How awesome is this?
We’ve been getting one to two Lookism Inspired Workouts for the last few weeks, and you guys are still flooding the request form with more characters – but I think I have finally managed to catch up a bit after this one.
Goo Kim is another extremely popular character, coming in within the top five strongest Lookism characters at number four (with some even arguing he could have been within the top three), so we’re definitely going to have some fun with this one.
This one is going to be built with weight training, so if you’re looking for the calisthenics workouts you’ll want to head into that database or sort one of the mini databases by bodyweight training.
Goo Kim Stats:
Real Name: Goo Kim (Kim Joon Goo)
Height: 6’2
Weight: N/A
Anime/Manga: Lookism / Manager Kim
Powers: No
Goo Kim is actually pretty tall, well above the average height range we’ve seen among male anime characters inside the Anime Workouts Database.
He would come in around average height that we’ve seen among male superheroes and celebrities, but just be off what we’d consider a behemoth among anime characters by 3-4 inches.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Goo Kim Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Goo Kim Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Goo Kim and how we’ll be building our workout out around him, I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section:
Goo Kim is a supporting character and an antagonist in Lookism. He is Charles Choi’s bodyguard, the debt collector for the HNH Group’s illegal money, one of the ten talented individuals raised by the HNH chairman, and one of the three kids trained by Tom Lee.
We recently got our Tom Lee Inspired Workout as well, and we know how powerful he is, so we can tell we’re going to have our work cut out for us already.
They don’t give us much in terms of his appearance, and we haven’t (at least from what I can remember) seen Goo Kim shirtless like a lot of the other characters; but this is how they break it down:
Joon Goo is a lean-built man with glasses and dyed blond hair. He is always shown fashionably dressed, in a similar fashion as Jong Gun. Contrary to Gun, Joon Goo dresses in relatively lighter colors, (white and gold) as opposed to Gun’s (grey and black).
Not much to go on, but we got “lean-built”.
When we move down into his fighting prowess we learn a lot more about him, starting with this:
Goo is a master at fighting. He is one of the best fighters in the PTJ-verse. While not much is known about his overall skills we know that he must be a fighter of unparalleled might given him having an equal footing to Jong Gun. However, unlike his partner, Joon Goo specializes in using weapons in his near vicinities like chairs and wood planks. Joon Goo has impressive strength and stamina regardless as he was capable of shattering three-camera stands in chapter 108 and standing up to an onslaught of attacks from Johan Seong in chapter 263. When holding a sword or anything that resembles one he gets quite serious and doesn’t show any signs of the playful attitude he usually has. He has an incredibly durability that is always displayed when he fights. Whenever he fights someone, he tends to get hit a lot at the early part of the fight. Although it might be that he does it on purpose. Goo’s most notable trait in his fighting prowess is his ability to use anything as a weapon. Once he picks up a weapon, the result of the fight is pretty much decided regardless of the opponent. His fight with Johan Seong was already determined when he picked up a piece of wooden lumber. Another display of his skills is when he defeated Sinu Han just by using a chopstick after sharpening it.
Two things we’ll have to note here are his strength and stamina.
They also continue on with a small section here:
He is also shown taking out hundreds of experienced weaponized adults when he was 16 alongside Gun (who was also 16) in chapter 310. He was the heir to the Korean sword, which makes him serious when he grabs the sword. Possibly, he was Trained Kumdo (A proficient sword art of korea) and Kendo Which explains his weapons usage and physical capabilities.
We get a pretty good idea of what we’re working with now.
The goals for our Goo Kim Inspired Workout are going to be:
- Goo Kim’s Lean and Toned Physique
- Goo Kim’s Strength and Speed
- Goo Kim’s Endurance and Stamina
We’re not looking to get massive like Tom Lee or Samuel Seo, but we are looking to get strong and fast, while also needing to factor in Goo Kim’s impressive endurance training.
This one will be okay for beginner to intermediate lifters to scale down and use, but it will likely be around an intermediate to advanced level if you don’t plan on scaling anything.
If it seems a bit too much for you to jump into you can start with our Beginner Behemoth Workout or one of our other Beginner Workouts and then work your way up to Goo Kim’s workout next!

(Unofficial Workouts Inspired by Characters)
Will be Calisthenics version?
Half the Lookism workouts are calisthenics so unless there is one specific character that is extremely popular, they probably will not get two different workout routines.
If you are to ever make a Johan Seong workout, please make it calisthenics. I already submitted the form
Johan is small. Calisthenics would probably be best.
