It’s time to get a new super muscular character added to our Demon Slayer Inspired Workouts!
We have been recently posting lists of the most muscular characters from specific anime and it’s a good thing we haven’t published our Demon Slayer list (although we did post it to YouTube already) on the site yet because we would have had to make an edit for Mr. Haganezuka to come in near the number one slot!
On the most recent episode of Demon Slayer (Season 3 Episode 3) Mr. Haganezuka comes out of the woods looking insanely muscular and shredded.
After training in the mountains he got JACKED and his strength has even become (from what we can tell) more than even Tanjiro!
For this one we’ll definitely be training with weights to get big and strong.
Mr. Haganezuko Stats:
Real Name: Haturo Haganezuka
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime/Manga: Demon Slayer
Powers: No
We don’t have an exact height and weight for Haturo Haganezuka, but he definitely isn’t tall enough to be considered a behemoth among our Anime Workouts Database.
That said, he also isn’t below average if compared to male anime characters either.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Mr. Haganezuka Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Mr. Haganezuka Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Haturo Haganezuka we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section here:
Hotaru Haganezuka is a supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a swordsmith affiliated with the Demon Slayer Corps.
This doesn’t tell us much, but it gets us started in the right direction.
I’ll also be including his appearance section specifically because he had a massive transformation:
Hotaru wears a sunflower-patterned haori and a large, woven hat with hanging floral wind chimes. His head is wrapped in a spotted cloth and his face is concealed by a Hyottoko mask (wooden festival mask), similar to Sakonji Urokodaki.
During the Swordsmith Village Arc, he is seen with a more muscular build compared to his initial appearance.
Unmasked, Hotaru is revealed to have long, black hair coupled with sharp eyes and distinctly-shaped thick eyebrows. However upon being attacked by Upper Rank Five, Gyokko, Hotaru now possesses several deep scars and cuts from the Demon all over his body, including an X-shaped one on his face, and has now lost the use of his left eye.
We want to specific focus on the second paragraph that discusses him in the Swordsmith Village Arc, referencing the muscular build we now get to see him with.
From there we can move into his abilities section, which actually give us a pretty good breakdown of what we’ll need to focus on:
Overall Abilities: Being a swordsmith, Hotaru has shown to have no indication of any special abilities similar to the members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Though after Tanjiro broke his Nichirin Sword multiple times against members of the Upper and Lower Ranks, he underwent special training mountains so he could forge a stronger blade for Tanjiro (albeit he wouldn’t admit it).
Enhanced Stamina: Mostly used as comic relief, Haganezuka has absurd amounts of stamina, evidenced by relentlessly pursuing Tanjiro for hours from evening to morning, and even made another attempt the following day. In both instances Tanjiro was left exhausted.
Enhanced Strength: After training in the mountains, his increased strength apparently exceeded that of even Tanjiro.
Master Swordsmith: Hotaru is a skilled swordsmith, able to forge the Nichirin Sword and repaired it multiple times each time it broke against the Lower and Upper Ranks. After Tanjiro chipped his sword in his battle against Upper Rank Six, Gyutaro and Daki, Hotaru trained more to make a stronger sword. Hotaru demonstrated his professionalism and expertise when he polished and sharpened the 300-year-old blade left in Yoriichi Type Zero while completely ignoring the wounds he received from Gyokko.
The bulk of this workout is going to be his aesthetic, strength and stamina.
That means the goals for our Haturo Haganezuko Inspired Workout are:
- Mr. Haganezuka’s Massive Muscular Physique
- Mr. Haganezuka’s Enhanced Strength
- Mr. Haganezuka’s Enhanced Stamina
This one is going to be built around achieving a wide muscular physique, focusing heavily on tacking on tons of mass and building a lot of strength – while also throwing in some stamina work here and there to round it out.
That said, you should be able to scale this one down if you’re a beginner and it seems like a bit too much volume on you (by cutting off a movement or two at the end of each training day).
But if that seems a bit too complicated for you, you can also start by jumping right into our Beginner Behemoth Workout and slowly working your way up to this one.
Check out all The SHJ Programs and start unleashing your inner SuperHuman.
Mr. Haganezuka Workout Routine
Training Volume:
5-6 days per week
For this one we’re training to get massive, but also tack on some extra endurance work as well. You can scale it back by cutting down the extra endurance and core – or you can even shop off your bicep and tricep training day altogether and still have a great 4+ day training split. But, at it’s core you have 5 days of weight training with extra endurance work, as well as a day devoted to our Mountain Training Circuit Test that you can use weekly, biweekly or monthly to step it up a notch and put your skills to the test.
Want To Upgrade This Workout?
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
