So technically speaking David Martinez had the most requests among our Cyberpunk: Edgerunners characters,
BUT, Dorio made the most sense for our scheduling with the need to bring in another female character – which is why we had our Dorio Workout come in first last week.
With that, you guys made it very clear that we needed our David Martinez Workout as soon as possible – AKA this week.
And, before we get any further, I did have a couple of you guys specifically ask for this one to be calisthenics, but unfortunately we’re going to be sticking to weight training for this.
David Martinez is massive, and I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t build this one around heavier weight training.
David Martinez Stats:

David Martinez actually comes in fairly short, though he would be considered average height not too long again, among our male anime characters at least – before we started seeing more and more behemoths.
And, speaking of behemoths, he is about a foot under what we’d consider a behemoth among our Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

David Martinez Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

David Martinez Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about David Martinez I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his extremely brief bio section here:
David Martinez is the protagonist of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He became a mercenary and a member of Maine’s edgerunner crew in 2076, when he was involved in a series of harrowing events that resulted in him attaining the status of a Night City legend.
From there we can move directly into his appearance section, which not only tells us a lot about his aesthetic, but also how he got there.
Here’s how they break it down for us:
David Martinez was an American teenager of Latino descent. He had light brown eyes and dark brown hair that he wore in a quaffed hairstyle, with the sides shaved. At the start of the series, he had a thin athletic build, but developed a heavier build with time. David’s typical style was Kitsch, sporting a black t-shirt, two golden chain necklaces (one with a cross), gray cropped sweatpants with two yellow straps on the sides, and white tennis shoes with blue straps. Later on, he started to wear his mother’s yellow EMT jacket, which had a blue luminescent collar on the inside of the material, and a green logo painted on the back.
David gradually added more implants to his body, becoming taller and more muscular. While keeping his overall outfit intact, he no longer wore a black shirt, preferring to remain bare-chested when not covered by the EMT jacket.
We’ll be skipping the implants and moving right into weight training to replicate David’s transformation into the jacked aesthetic we see him with.
If we then move into some of his powers and abilities we learn even more.
Here’s what his Heroes Fandom tells us about them:

- Marksmanship
- Skilled hand-to-hand combatant
They also discuss his leadership skills and high intelligence, but those are two things you’ll need to work on outside of this workout.
Which makes the rest of what we’ll need to focus on pretty clear.
That means the goals of our David Martinez Inspired Workout are:

- David Martinez’s Agility and Fighter/Marksman Mobility
We will be training hard to accomplish these goals, but the routine isn’t going to be anything crazy that most levels won’t be able to join in on.
That said, if it does seem a bit hard or daunting I would recommend starting with our Beginner Behemoth Workout (though any of our Beginner Workouts would be great), and then leveling your way up to this one over time.

Explanation:
For this one we’re training with a 5 day weightlifting split we’ve seen used by guys like Dwayne Johnson and monsters that are the big behemoths of our celebrity workout research. If you want to tack on some extra cardio you can to keep lean (guys like Johnson often do 30-45 minutes on the elliptical or treadmill), but it’s not necessary at all if your nutrition is on point.
