The fact that we don’t have Raditz inside our Dragon Ball Inspired Workouts is almost a sin.
Dragon Ball Z is the show that got me into anime WAY back when (I’m old now), as well as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh if you count those, but Dragon Ball Z was the true workout inspiration, for obvious reasons.
And, we’ve had Goku in there a handful of times, AND Bardock, so we clearly need Raditz as well.
We’ll also be training with weights, so if you want a bodyweight workout you’ll want to hop into The DBZ Database or even inside the Calisthenics Workouts and choose from there instead.
Raditz Stats:
Real Name: Raditz
Height: 6’3
Weight: 300 lbs.
Anime: Dragon Ball Z
Powers: Yes
Raditz is actually really tall compared to most of the Saiyans we have seen.
He’s only 3 inches off of making into the category of behemoth among our Anime Workouts Database, and the 300 pounds is MASSIVE.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Raditz Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Raditz Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Raditz I’m going to be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with:
Raditz, also known as “Raditz the Runt“, is a mid-class Saiyan warrior, the older brother of Goku and the eldest son of Bardock and Gine. He is one of the few remaining full-blooded Saiyans left alive after his homeworld was destroyed. He seeks out Goku in order to recruit him into the Frieza Force to aid in conquering planets.
Raditz had massive potential, which seems a bit wasted now, but he was still insanely powerful in comparison to anything else we had ever seen when we were introduced to him.
Raditz’s appearance section doesn’t do him justice, but I do like some of what they share for us here (especially in regards to Super Saiyan 3), so I’m going to share it anyways:
Raditz’s appearance consists of extremely long, spiky black hair with a prominent widow’s peak, brown and black colored Battle Armor in the same style as the rest of Frieza’s soldiers, with boots, armored wristguards, and a scouter that is blue on the title page of chapter 196, and green in the anime and full color manga. Additionally, he wears two accessory bands that are white in the manga and red in the anime: one is tightened around his left arm, and the other on his left leg. Raditz also inherits Bardock’s eyes and complexion. Raditz may be the only Saiyan whose hair actually grows longer as he grows up, which carries over into his Super Saiyan 3 form.
What we really want to know is how jacked he is, weighing in at 300 pounds is a TON of mass.
But, thankfully we can see that from the images.
When we move into his powers and abilities we can learn a bit more about what we’re dealing with here:
Raditz was able to take a point-blank attack from Piccolo and emerge unharmed and was able to scare the Namekian just by his mere presence. While fighting Piccolo and Goku together, even with their weighted clothing removed, neither could land a single blow on Raditz. Despite Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon being able to land the finishing blow, Raditz was fast enough to dodge the first attack, which prompted Goku to sacrifice his life to hold him in place to take the second.
It is stated by Nappa that his power level rivals that of the Saibaman, who have power levels of over 1,200. Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon against Raditz is stated to be 1,330 which worried Raditz. In the anime, the power level of the second Special Beam Cannon is stated to be 1,485 (1,440 in the dub), which Raditz said could finish him off. However, Raditz had been weakened by an enraged Gohan which may have allowed Piccolo’s attack to be strong enough as even Goku could hold Raditz down while severely injured.
So we won’t necessarily be training around Raditz potential, but I do want to point out that he was powerful for the time he was introduced.
That said, we can built this one around an intermediate level being that we’re not dealing with a level of Goku or Vegeta.
Our goals for the Raditz Inspired Workout will be:
- Raditz’s Massive Muscular Aesthetic
- Raditz’s Saiyan Strength and Speed
- Raditz’s Mobility and Endurance
Don’t worry if you’re not on the level of being able to train like Vegeta, Goku and Gohan just yet, this one will be more based on mass and aesthetic (muscle growth and toning), but will layer in strength and speed as well.
That said, if it does seem a bit daunting you can start with our Beginner Behemoth Workout, or any of our Beginner Workouts and then work your way up to this one.

Raditz Workout Routine
5 days per week
Explanation:
As I mentioned: we’re going to be training around Raditz’s saiyan physical abilities and strength, but also insanely jacked aesthetics. So we’ll be lifting heavy and training at a pretty high volume, but also prioritizing aesthetics in there with it.
Want To Upgrade This Workout?
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
