Shen Xiang is an obvious choice for our next Undead Unluck character.
Which is bringing us one step closer to getting an Undead Unluck mini-database within our Anime Workouts Database.
So far we’ve had Andy and Fuuko hit the site, and I have a handful of requests for more characters that will trickle in over time – so keep them coming!
To be clear: Shen is jacked.
We’re definitely going to be training with weights for his one – so if you want bodyweight training you’ll want to head into the Calisthenics Workouts and pick someone from there.
Shen Xiang Stats:
Real Name: Shen Xiang
Height: 6’1
Weight: N/A
Anime: Undead Unluck
Powers: Yes
Shen is actually pretty tall, especially compared to male anime characters, but still misses being considered a behemoth by about five inches.
That said, it does show just how much mass he has on his physique.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Shen Xiang Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Shen Xiang Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Shen Xiang we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with his brief bio section here:
Shen Xiang was member no. 2 of the Round Table before his passing, and no 8 of the 101st loop, being the Negator with the alias Untruth. He lived in China before becoming a member.
They really don’t tell us much about his appearance, but that doesn’t matter much considering what we can clearly see.
So we’ll move right into his abilities section starting with what they tell us here:
Untruth: Shen can negate any conscious thought his target has, causing them to do the opposite. However, to activate his ability he must become subconsciously fond of his target. His ability activates by eye contact and as long as he can see his opponent, he can keep the ability activated, thus breaking free from his field of vision, would break the target free from Untruth.
Parry: Shen takes up a stance that leaves one side of his body heavily guarded and another side vulnerable to attacks. When his opponent goes to attack that area he uses Untruth to make them attack the other side of his body. He then uses his hands to parry the attack.
And we can move deeper into his abilities by discussing his martial arts abilities.
Here’s what they tell us:
Master Martial Artist: Shen is a great martial artist being shown as very skilled in hand-to-hand combat managing to fight Andy for a while during his first confrontation and exchange a few blows with Victor before the rest of the Union appears to stop him. when even goes on to create his own style of martial arts, Shin Hakkyoku.
Master Staffmanship: Shen is very skilled in using his staff as a weapon, managing to handle it perfectly, delivering quick and precise strokes by extending the staff to increase the range of the strikes.
This shows the importance of mobility and speed we’ll need to train around in our routine.
The goals for our Shen Xiang Inspired Workout are:
- Shen Xiang’s Massive Muscular Aesthetic
- Shen Xiang’s Massive Strength and Speed
- Shen Xiang’s Martial Artist Mobility
I really wanted to build this one around a Bro-Split, but considering we used one for Andy, I’m going to be switching it up.
That said, if you’re a beginner you should be able to jump into this one, but you can also start with The Beginner Behemoth Workout or one of the other Beginner Workouts.
