It always happens, but once I remind you guys of an anime, you guys keep requesting more for the same database.
This time we’re continue to build out our Jujutsu Kaisen Workouts Database with Ryu Ishigori joining it.
Last week we had Jiro Awasaka join us, so you can see a clear trend here if you’re a Jujutsu Kaisen fan.
We also get two jacked characters in a row – but while Jiro was added into our calisthenics workouts, we’re going to be training with weights to become Ryu!
Ryu Ishigori Stats:
Real Name: Ryu Ishigori
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen
Powers: Yes
Ryu is fairly tall, but we don’t have an exact height and weight for him, so I wanted to leave it blank instead of guessing.
That said, he’s definitely not tall enough to be considered a behemoth among our Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Ryu Ishigori Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Ryu Ishigori Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Ryu I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section here:
Ryu Ishigori is a character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is a jujutsu sorcerer from 400 years ago who was incarnated into the modern era by Kenjaku to participate in the Culling Game as a player.
Since a big part of this workout will also be based on his appearance, I also want to share a piece of that here.
Here’s what they have to say:
After incarnating into the modern era, Ryu has the appearance of a handsome young man who is relatively tall with a muscular body. He has a well-defined jawline, sleek cheekbones, soft eyes, and thin eyebrows. Ryu has brown hair and proudly sports a vintage pompadour hairstyle directly connected to his cursed technique. He wears a dark jacket with extensive fur trim around the neck and wrists. The coat is left open, revealing Ryu’s chest and the necklace he wears. He has a belt with a large buckle tied around the waist of his dark pants and sports similar colored shoes.
The big part of this really only comes down to his muscular physique, which you should be well aware of.
From there we can move right down into his powers and abilities.
They start us off with his overall abilities section here:
Overall Skill Level: Ryu is a sorcerer that boasts incredible destructive power and the highest cursed energy output of any player in the Culling Game. He was able to score seventy-seven points in twelve days in one of the game’s fiercest colonies and forced a deadlock with other exceptional players like Dhruv, Kurourushi, and Uro.
Ryu’s ability to fire cursed energy like a cannon makes him a massive wide-range threat. He is also the only sorcerer who can unleash the same amount of power regardless of whether or not his cursed technique is activated. His pure offensive firepower annihilated most of Kurourushi in one shot. While he’s normally at a disadvantage against Uro’s ability to redirect his blasts, he was able to defeat her with the same blast as Kurourushi when she was unable to activate her cursed technique following domain expansion.
This tells a bit about how strong he is, but I want to get into a bit more depth about his specific abilities so we know what to focus on.
Here’s what they tell us:
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: In addition to his long range capabilities, Ryu is an exceptional close combat fighter. Utilizing his hair as the barrel of a cannon allows Ryu to keep his hands free and he’s more than capable of using them to pummel his opponent. He was evenly matched with Yuta in most of their exchanges. He blocked Yuta’s initial attack upon bringing their fight into close range and continued to match blows with him throughout their battle into its climax.
Immense Endurance: Ryu withstood numerous direct attacks in his battle with Uro and Yuta, including being hit with his own Granite Blast. He also took several hits from Rika, a curse endowed with super strength, and not only continued fighting, but also delivered powerful counterattacks. Reinforced by his cursed energy, Ryu blocked a directed blast of cursed energy from Rika with just one hand. Even after Yuta hit him with Thin Ice Breaker and Rika busted him open with a punch to the top of his head, Ryu didn’t go down until he was unsuspectingly hit by another one of his own blasts.
So while we do have to train around his power level, strength and speed – on top of the fact that he has an extremely muscular aesthetic – we also need to factor in that his immense endurance is one of the biggest parts of what we’re dealing with here.
That means the goals for our Ryu Ishigori Inspired Workout are:
- Ryu Ishigori’s Muscular Aesthetic
- Ryu Ishigori’s Immense Endurance
- Ryu Ishigori’s Strength and Speed
This one is going to be moderately intense, but you should be able to come into it at around any level.
If it feels like it’s too much to get started with you can start with one of our Beginner Workouts, with the Beginner Behemoth Workout being your best bet.
