This isn’t the first time Hunter X Hunter has appeared here at SHJ, but The SHJ Army made it VERY CLEAR they want Hisoka.
I hit our other two fan favorites pretty early on after watching through Hunter X Hunter myself, but then came the flood of requests nearly demanding Hisoka be added ASAP.
And you know what? I’m all for it.
We’ve had our Gon Workout Routine and Killua Workout Routine already, but now it’s time for Hisoka.
He’s going to be a nice edition to our Anime Workouts Database and even out mega-listicle we have coming soon for our anime routines!
Hisoka Stats:
Real Name: Hisoka Morow
Height: 6’3
Weight: 200 lbs.
Anime: Hunter X Hunter
Powers: Yes
Hisoka’s height comes in 6’1-6’3 depending on the appearance, but as we know…he’s ripped!
Six one to six three at two hundred pounds means he’s holding a ton of muscle.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Hisoka Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Hisoka Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
For this we’ll be immediately jumping to Hisoka’s Wiki Fandom to discuss his background before we eventually talk about his powers and abilities:
Hisoka Morow is a Hunter and former member #4 of the Phantom Troupe; his physical strength ranked third in the group. He is always in search for strong opponents, and would spare those who have great potential, such as Gon and Killua in order for them to get strong enough to actually challenge him. He originally served as the primary antagonist of the Hunter Exam arc and a secondary one of the Heavens Arena arc, before becoming a supporting character during the Yorknew City arc and Greed Island arc. During the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, he briefly reprises his role as a secondary antagonist.
Now if you’re new to Hunter X Hunter you may not be as in love with Hisoka as the rest of The SHJ army who specifically requested him so much.
As mentioned above he actually started as the primary antagonist during the Hunter Exam arc in which you originally are introduced to the awesomeness of Gon and Killua.
From there he eventually becomes a supporting character and you learn to see the real Hisoka (and learn much more about him as well).
Before we talk about specific powers and abilities I actually want to start by sharing how they explain Hisoka’s magician abilities:
Hisoka is also a skilled magician and often uses Nen to perform his tricks. His skills in misdirection and amazing dexterity find applications in combat, their combination allowing him to triumph against Kastro. The latter talent also enabled him to catch Togari’s spinning knives on the first try, whereas their owner required six months to do so. Furthermore, Hisoka has a certain degree of informatic proficiency, which he used to track Gon and Killua down after they bought blimp tickets online. By forming a circle with his index finger and thumb and peeking through it, he can enhance his vision. It is unknown if this technique is achieved with Nen, or if Hisoka can merely improve his eyesight by concentrating. Hisoka’s zest for battle often causes him to suffer more damage than he would if he fought seriously from the start. In fact, his willingness to let Chrollo pick the location and time of their showdown, as well as to adapt to his pace in its early stages, nearly led to his demise.
While it’s not that useful for us when building out a workout routine, it is useful for us to fully understand him as a character.
From there his Wiki Fandom goes on to tell us a TON about his powers and abilities, all of which make him such a diverse character.
Here’s what they list for us:
- Immense Strength
- Enhanced Speed and Reflexes
- Enhanced Agility
- Enhanced Stamina
- Immense Endurance
- Genius-Level Intellect
- Master Strategist
- Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant
- Master Weapon Specialist
- Master of Stealth
We’ll specifically be focusing in on his immense strength, endurance and enhanced spped, stamina and agility.
Obviously stamina and endurance will overlap here for us, speed and agility will overlap a bit for us, and then both of those will even be built up through our strength training as well.
It’s important to note, though: we are building this routine around Hisoka’s POWERS AND ABILITIES, not hyper-focusing his lean aesthetic.
For that reason if you want to be more focused on his appearance you should likely focus more on a cutting nutrition plan that wouldn’t be as effective for the strength routine we’ll be building here.
But if you’d like to combine them it can still absolutely work for you – it’s just generally not the most efficient approach.

Hisoka Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4+ days per week
Explanation:
We’re going to be building this one around our four main compound lifts to really focus on the strength building necessary to become Hisoka. I’ll be adding our basic resources for adding endurance training, parkour and even mixed martial arts, that are all great for building a routine around Hisoka, but those can be added in on top of our core training days. This is primarily focused around strength and speed with a secondary focus on endurance and stamina (that’s why we’re running post workout), and finally the MMA/Parkour as a side focus.
Want To Upgrade This Workout?
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
