We took quite a break from our Bleach Inspired Workouts, but now we’re back and ready to hit a handful of them!
And who better to start with than Toshiro Hitsugaya?
After Ichigo and Yoruichi, Toshiro is the most requested Bleach character we’ve had here at SHJ.
Eventually we’ll even be speeding up the Bleach Workout Placement Quiz and I’m sure you guys will love the addition of Toshiro for that reason as well.
Bleach wasn’t quite one of The Most Popular Anime of All Time – but it definitely made our list of The Best Anime to Watch on Netflix (Oh, and Hulu as well)!
Toshiro Hitsugaya Stats:
Real Name: Toshiro Hitsugaya
Height: 4’4 1/2
Weight: 62 lbs.
Anime: Bleach
Powers: Yes
Toshiro is extremely short and light.
We’ve seen some really short male anime characters – but he is actually one of the shortest.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Toshiro Hitsugaya Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Toshiro Hitsugaya Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To get us started we’re going to be pulling right from Toshiro Hitsugaya’s Wiki Fandom page.
Here’s what they give us for his bio section:
Tōshirō Hitsugaya is the captain of the 10th Division in the Gotei 13. His lieutenant is Rangiku Matsumoto. He formerly served as the 3rd Seat of the 10th Division under Isshin Shiba.
When we move into his powers and abilities section they give a long breakdown and a lot for us to work with.
Here’s how they start it off by breaking down what they call his “Child Prodigy” section:
Child Prodigy: Perhaps the most astonishing trait of Hitsugaya is his intellect and natural talent. He is the most gifted prodigy the Soul Society has had since Gin Ichimaru, entering the Shinigami Academy on his first try despite his young age, graduating from the academy in a single year with the highest written and performance scores in each of his classes, joining the Gotei 13 shortly afterwards, and then becoming the youngest Shinigami to ever reach the rank of captain. He has been called many things due to this. Renji and Iba have called him a child genius, and Ichimaru has called him the embodiment of the “heavenly white angel that blesses Soul Society once a century”. In terms of intellect, Hitsugaya is equally impressive. He was the first to suspect Ichimaru of treason, and saw that there was more to Rukia’s execution than what was being said. Shunsui, one of the strongest Shinigami in history, states that because he is a genius, within 100 years, Hitsugaya could surpass him.
From there they move onto break down each individual ability that we’ll need to work around one by one.

So for the sake of this routine we’ll be working on achieving the enhanced endurance and enough strength and bodyweight control for his hand to hand combat.
For that reason I’m going to be building this one out using calisthenics and endurance work that will be using tactics we utilize in our Assassin Calisthenics 90 Day System that has even been used to help train new U.S. Marines.
So be ready for HIGH intensity for this one.

Toshiro Hitsugaya Workout Routine
Training Volume:
3-5 days per week
The three days of calisthenics circuits can be broken down into circuits, individual exercises that can be scaled limitless ways, tri-sets, giant sets, or even supersets. The other two days a week will be revolving around endurance work that can be scaled how you’d prefer, although I do recommend running or adding in some MMA or Parkour!
