Our Kengan Ashura Inspired Workouts and even Record Of Ragnarok Inspired Workouts are some of the hottest workouts on the site right now.
Of course we have other anime that just crush it with over twenty character inspired workouts in their database, but as I brought in more Kengan characters you guys have filled up the request form with more.
We’ve already seen a couple behemoths among our Kengan Ashura characters, so I’m actually going to be building Kaolan’s workout around calisthenics training for all of our bodyweight members of The SHJ Army.
You guys are growing in numbers, and I’m bringing tons of new calisthenics workouts for you every single week.
This one will also be nice to add to our Kengan Ashura Placement Quiz once it’s live, but for now you can use the Anime Workout Placement Quizzes.
Kaolan Wongsawat Stats:
Real Name: Kaolan Wongsawat
Height: 6’1
Weight: 200
Anime: Kengan Ashura
Powers: Yes
Kaolan is actually quite tall compared to other male anime characters we’ve seen.
Although I wouldn’t place him among our behemoths in our Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Kaolan Wongsawat Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Kaolan Wongsawat Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Kaolan we’re going to be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with this:
Kaolan Wongsawat, also known as The Thai God of War, is a renowned boxer and current heavyweight champion across four different organizations, as well as the personal bodyguard of Rama XIII. A nak muay who made the move into the professional boxing scene, Kaolan has made it as the second best Pound-for-pound boxer in history. During the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, he participated as the affiliated fighter for Yato Trading Co. Two years later, he entered the Kengan Association VS Purgatory Tournament as a representative for the Kengan Association.
We clearly have our work cut out for us.
BUT, we also know immediately that we’re going to want to be training like a boxer – and we’ve seen a ton of those in our Celebrity Workout Routines Database.
If we move into his powers and abilities section we can begin to learn about what we’re really working with.
Here’s how they lead us off with a large section about his overall abilities and strengths:
Kaolan is an extremely powerful fighter with boxing as his base martial art, having an out-fighting style with extremely fast flicker jabs as his speciality. Kaolan’s physical abilities are top-notch, being able to throw heavy ad-hoc punches from any position, even unstable ones; Kaolan’s punches alone can knockout the majority of opponents. Like Kaneda Suekichi, Kaolan is also capable of predicting his opponent’s movements, though this seems limited to opponents that utilize a boxing style.
When fighting normally, he only uses his boxing abilities in the “Hitman” or the “Flicker” style, as this is usually enough to dominate his opponent; his boxing skills are arguably the best in the world, proven in his fight with Kanoh Agito when he dominated the latter while both were using boxing, despite Kaolan having a height and reach disadvantage. However, when fighting to the best his abilities he skillfully combines boxing with muay Thai.
Having trained in muay Thai for over 20 years and mastered boxing, Kaolan is essentially a striking specialist; it would not be an overstatement to call Kaolan the “acme of striking” His combination of boxing and muay Thai is so powerful that he is capable of forcing a fighter of Kanoh Agito’s level on the defensive without giving him a chance to counter.
After the Annihilation Tournament, Kaolan underwent partial training after his right fist healed. By doing different forms of partial training his fist became hard enough to break through rocks, and was undamaged by a kick from Carlos Medel. Kaolan himself noted that he was inspired by Saw Paing’s indestructible bones.
Luckily for us, we’ve researched one of the greatest boxers of all time here at SHJ: Mike Tyson!
AND, to top it off, we learned about his calisthenics training, which I’ll be utilizing for Kaolan’s training as well.
But, before I get too far ahead of myself here, I want to continue with a bit more information on Kaolan’s abilities.
Here’s what they tell us about Kaolan’s signature move, Flash, and his God Glow:
Flash: Kaolan’s signature boxing move. The Flash (フラッシュ, Furasshu) is a barrage of quick, sharp flicker jabs, a jab performed with no torque with the arm resting downwards or at a 90° from the waist. Even while being weighed down by a 10oz glove, he is able to fire off 13 of these flicker jabs in a single breath, with the number of blows he can let off increasing to at least 15 when barehanded.
Because of the speed and volume of his punches, it is extremely hard to dodge or counter, even for professional boxing champions or people who can predict his attacks (such as Kaneda Suekichi). With this move, despite the flicker jabs’ innate loss of power over regular jabs, it is still able to induce a nosebleed in Kaneda Suekichi even when all blows were blocked and has knocked-out lesser fighters.
God Glow: The God Glow is a powerful dominant cross (also known as a straight) able to “surpass light and become the fist of a god”. It is the result of partial training to his right fist for one year after Kanoh Agito shattered it. This move is so powerful not even a fast fighter such as Carlos Medel can dodge it.
I feel pretty confident using a workout modeled after Mike Tyson’s – but be ready for a ton of volume!
